Clay: @5:50 You're talking about the walleye relating to the drop off and weren't sure how to explain it. Buck Perry would say, the walleye are suspended off the primary breakline at the same depth as the breakline. If you don't know who Buck Perry was you should Google him, he was the father of structure fishing.
Awesome Clay! The wife and I both limited out on perch today at Blackstrap Reservoir, You should do a perch video clay. Amazing fun it is catching those jumbo yellow perch 😂
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors especially when they were hitting like today. Every cast, smashed! small hook, small piece of worm, and a bobber. There were hundreds 15 feet off shore...no boat required this time 😂 Way too much fun.
Morning Clayton. This is one of your most impressive videos. That streak was crazy! I'm starting to get into casting jerk bait too in shallow water, pretty amazing feeling on the hookups.
Next on Clayton’s fishing school will be casting spoons for walleye on sand flats 😁 great video and thank you for the instructions on all of your videos. It is appreciated that you disclose what you are using/doing and what you have done in the past.
I fished yesterday and all the fish were suspended at 5 to 10 feet. I didn't even think of throwing jerkbait. I was using square bills and ned rigs. I wish you dropped this video a couple of days ago
Another awesome video Clayton and you leave me wondering why you never fished this way for Jay vs Clay vs Uncut Angling as you probably could have beat them both! Also did I hear you correctly say when it’s bright and sunny outside you use bright colour hooks and when cloudy and gloomy outside you tend to use darker coloured hooks? Also, when real warm out the fish tend to be off the shallow steep drop offs vs when cooler outside they are deeper?
That's awesome. I agree , casting and sight fishing any species is way more exciting. I'll never forget wading and casting to huge sea trout 7plus pounds in the gulf of mexico at port aransas. Lots of fun.
If you read Buck Perry and structure fishing you’ll understand terminology and how to describe the situation you’re fishing , good reading my friend ! 👍 Enjoy all your videos !
That lake must be loaded! Wish I had a lake like that near me. Everything here is highly pressured and a tough bite at best. Only boated one 20 incher Sunday and a couple pike.
Clayton, you put out really good content and I appreciate that you fish primarily in Sask. This episode had great info, I don't have thousands of $$ for electronics so I don't enjoy watching the videos where guys just drive around and then pick a fish to catch! I get it, electronics are an advantage, it's just not how I fish. This on the other hand, I really enjoyed and it's full of info that I'll use!
Couldn’t agree more with not bottom bouncing. Although it can yield results and catch quality fish, snap jigging, popping etc… it’s much more interactive and enjoyable in my opinion. To each their own, but I’m with you.
Love your videos!! A fellow Saskatchewan myself!! Born and raised. Would love it if you would mention what lakes you are fishing in when you do your videos!!
I just ordered a couple of those using your discount code. Can’t wait to try them. Oh and you’re almost to 50k subs man! Keep the great content rolling!
Great Videos Clayton!! I've learned a lot from them. Got a question about Tobin Lake. I was there last fall and this Spring and had terrible luck both times. I'm not sure if it was slow or just me. It seems like a really tough lake sometimes. Do you have a suggestion of who to talk to to find out where to fish there? Is there a guide you'd recommend for next time? I've heard of such great fishing there at times so I think I'd like to figure that lake out
Same here. Ive been fishing for 30 years and even owned a real nice boat, Lund 1775 pro v, but I’m so bad at summer fishing I sold it and focus almost solely on ice fishing. Generally average 60-100x a winter
Great casting action !!! The surface had a bunch of stuff on it early into he vid, was that a bug hatch? Great pike by the way. Looking forward to a pike casting video soon!!!
Clayton, You are an incredible fisherman! Your approach to technique is intuitive. You're a Pro! Thank You! and I still have a Hat for you, whats a good address?
*Warning this is a long post*... I thought it's was funny someone posted "how come your walleye don't flop". Walleye don't flop unless you're treating them wrong lol. I would like to know, how come your pike don't flop???? All my pike flop and attack lol... Ever since I was 4 years old I've attracted 42 to 56 inch pike and my dad was always around to deal with all of them... With that said, I lost my dad who was 59 year old last September, And now I'm a 34 year old man to scared to put my boat in the shallow water because I know there's a huge jack waiting to take some skin off my hand. Down here in Weyburn I'm famous for watching your video then going out to try and duplicate what you did days before.... Even my wife knows the fish are in shallow and wonders why I stay in 20 feet of water and jig off the ground... I thought I had another 20 years to learn how to handle a big jack but I don't.... If you had 1 pointer on how to handle them that would be great.... I would like to take my wife and 3 girls into the shallow waters again without looking like a b***h. Even tho I know now the jack will be able to smell my fear more then ever, I know I have to be the dad for them like my dad was for me and deal with it, no matter how big their teeth are.... so if you had 1 pointer, I feel that I could build off that
First off, sorry to hear about your dad passing my heart goes out to you. Like a Walleye, it's all about having some confidence with them while holding them. I should really make a video about this at some point. When you grab the gill plate, get your thumb tight to your index finger (like thumb on the outside and finger on the inside. Support the belly of the fish as much as possible. A big thing to remember is if they start to freak out toss them back in the water, the big splash will not hurt them at all, and way better than the bottom of the boat :)

Why do I get the feeling that casting crankbaits will be your go to tactic for the next Clay, vs, Jay, vs Aaron?
I have to wonder how big of a hurt you could put on the walleyes doing the crankbait thing after dark?
Love it.I need to try casting more..Lots of nice tackle that I have not used yet😂
Laker video is much needed ! Come on big show break away from them walleye ✌🏻cheers man

I do need to catch some Perch soon!!

Heck ya!!

Casting cranks is so so fun!!!
That lens on your gopro is so clutch.
Ned rig now shallow water cranks...what's next for walleyes, top water frogs?😁
Texas rigged senko?
This spring I caught a limit of walleyes to 8lbs. On a Zara puppy at night.
☠️☠️☠️
Frost post spawn are fire for walleyes in the right spots

Wow. Now that’s entertaining and educational. Great video Clay!

Wow ... awesome work man! IMPRESSIVE PACE!!! Great stuff right there!
Thanks Clayton for another great video. This made me realize I'm not putting enough pauses on my cranks. 👍
Is that you using is a shallow bandit
I like that style of fishing I will try this

Good one Clayton, great video looked like a hoot.
Just did this up in South Dakota couldn't catch them on anything else! Blue and Orange suspending
Watch all 3 vids, I can guess, but who won and what were the final scores?
That lake must be loaded! Wish I had a lake like that near me. Everything here is highly pressured and a tough bite at best. Only boated one 20 incher Sunday and a couple pike.

🤯
Awesome video clay.
"They call him Clayton Two Times.....he got that name cuz he says everything twice." 🙂 (obscure goodfellas reference)
Do you fish the same lake and same spot for every video???
Haha no.... never fished this spot before in this video. Maybe pay attention before you speak
its a shame you had to battle the crowds!!!🤣😍😎 Bandits are lk erie, sag bay, st clair wally slayers.....#1 in the America's!
Great video Clayton. Have you ever used Reef Runners? Would like to see a video on trolling for Walleye!
Hey Clayton what connection knot do you use for your leader?
What a morning u had.I to like throwin cranks, makes for more action.Great vid
Great vid!
That was a pretty sick couple hours of fishing, that's why we keep going out is for days like that!
Couldn’t agree more with not bottom bouncing. Although it can yield results and catch quality fish, snap jigging, popping etc… it’s much more interactive and enjoyable in my opinion. To each their own, but I’m with you.
Good morning Clayton !
Support local..... 🇨🇦
Love your videos!! A fellow Saskatchewan myself!! Born and raised. Would love it if you would mention what lakes you are fishing in when you do your videos!!
Take the front hook off. Hardly makes a diff and makes things much more easy when grabbing or netting.
Keep these great videos coming Clay!!! Always enjoy taking a “micro break” at work to watch you channel!!
What is the best rod for walleye fishing
You found a honey hole!
You're a humble fisherman, Clayton 😊
Do you pinch your barbs as well? Hooks seem to come out nice and easy
I love days like that when it’s non stop walleye action! Shallow water cranking for walleyes in warm weather is a dream!!
You smashed them for sure! Here I am never caught a Walleye in my life..
I just ordered a couple of those using your discount code. Can’t wait to try them. Oh and you’re almost to 50k subs man! Keep the great content rolling!
Ah hem.. Someone suggested that you rig HJ's for your last Jay vs Clay...
Right???? I had already filmed this before your suggestion!! Where were ya when I needed you??? Haha:)
What is that crankBait called I gotta get some
Forgot to mention I have a friend who guides with you up at Wollaston. He has his fingers crossed for this year as well
Don't leave fish to find fish! :)
Who in their right mind gives this video thumbs down? Maybe Jay and Aaron🧐Kidding well going jerk fishing

Liking all these videos. Would be awesome if you could do TH-cam full time!
I am doing it full time right now :)
@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Yes you are and its great! What about next year?
I’m into ice fishing and I’m pretty good at it, but never had any luck during our warmer months. Any tips for fishing shitty lakes/ rivers

The birds in the back ground make it feel like I’m there with you ! Lol 😂
Fishing walleye just want see new kinda fish been caught that’s all guys
Did you watch the last jay vs clay? It was bass. I also just put a pike video out
Jimmy don't like hot either!
SIGHT FISHING!? and 8 for 8 awesome episode clayton
Great casting action !!! The surface had a bunch of stuff on it early into he vid, was that a bug hatch? Great pike by the way. Looking forward to a pike casting video soon!!!
And look for the ones with tooth marks embedded into the body of the lure! That's how I know which ones have worked in the past! :)
Don’t go hating on bottom bouncers and pulling plugs. Might be boring but it’s the only way I catch fish! HA
HAH!! Nothing wrong with that, I just find it boring :) Just try some new things and ya never know!! :)
Time to mute myself on my work meeting! Excited to be here so early

You had them pinned down.....should have started experimenting on them.
hi clayton
Clayton is trying to hide that he’s a fish whisperer by letting one flop this time ...

Lol huh? I have never posted a video like this ever.
I haven’t been able to catch a walleye in at least 2 years…smh… 😔 it’s all been pike and perch.
You’ll get them man keep trying
Sorry, wrong vid
