What about if its summer year around? Where jackets, blazers, turtlenecks, and scarves cant be worn? What can someone do if its always hot and sticky?
Max I love dresses, float blouses, light structured tanks and t-shirts and skirts ❤️ Plus accessories like a straw hat, small bag and silk scarf tied in your hair or on your bag and delicate sandals always look beautiful

Thank you, Audrey for those tips. My mother was a trained opera singer. She took classes at the Boston Conservatory. She use to be in the chorus of a theater group in Boston known as the Peabody Players. She always sang in our house to me to herself, in the shower and putting me to bed. She sang opera, musicals and the American songbook and cute songs from the 30's, 40's and 50's. I grew up knowing a lot of music. Plus my parents went to Cuba on their honeymoon and brought back a love of Cuban, Spanish and South American music. I am always surprised when I ask my husband if he knows a certain song I will be singing along to and he always says, "No". I also took piano lesson when I was about 6 for about 8 years and of course I took ballet, tap and jazz lessons and learned a lot more about classical music from there. My parents started taking me to museums like the Decordova (modern) and the Museum of Fine Arts when I was just 5 years old. They also started to take me to operas and musicals around the same time. My college gift was a family vacation to Italy. Every year after that I went to Europe and when I got married I continued to travel, even getting a job flying around America, Canada and Europe. I always agree with your suggestions and now that I am retired, I go to Yoga classes every day, as well as Pilates and other classes. Posture is of great importance to me as well. Yesterday, I gave away 5 trash bags of clothing trying to figure out what to keep and what to let go. I will not be going to the office anymore, so it is hard to know what to give away and what to keep. I have a few sentimental outfits like my St John's suit that I can't seem to let go. But with your help and suggestions, it helps me to know which ones I should keep and which to toss. Also, what items to add in a more thoughtful manner. Thanks again, sometime you will have to sing for us. I always love your background music. :-)

I am following you for a few years now and I must say that you and Justine Leconte are my favorite You tubers. The rest that I liked ( and followed) have changed in time (on worst),but you two, both are still natural, professional,knowledgeable, charming and I really enjoy watching your videos.
If we are talking about being sophisticated, you now ,with shorter hair, look much more sophisticated,elegant and groomed. Long hair is good for teenagers IMO. Keep on going.
Turtleneck under v-neck is so sixties, and it's where I live. It's clean, uncluttered, practical, and the sixties were such a great decade too!

I’ve seen so many videos that feel judgemental and tacky, but you’re so different. You’re super kind and motivating and even though not everything you show on your channel is my style (I’m more of a rock and roll, band shirts kind of gal 😅 I’m a concert photographer), I have learned so much and there’s so many tips I can add to build my style, I’ve been binge watching and I’m feeling great about this style journey I’m starting. As a woman of a certain age who has always prided herself on being classically chic, I must say I always learn from you, Audrey. Your knowledge of how to style an outfit is simply elegant. Your tips have made me see my presentation in a new way and I thank you. Everything from sizing a bra, wearing white that fits loosely, layering necklaces, proportions. You are beautiful and it is just lovely to find you.
I agree so much on adding even just one structured piece- even if you are doing Boho chic, if you add a structured piece it absolutely elevates it! And yes, knowledge gives confidence- when you know you can fit into and converse in any social situation you never look unsure or 'lost'. It's great how you can single out these things and clarify for us!

Ooh the silk scarf on a bag is a lovely tip. I've seen it a lot on designer bags on poshmark but have never tried this myself, not yet but I'm going to find a beautiful silk scarf at the thirty store for this! I'm also going to find a beautiful blazer because my favorite one was too large for me so I sold it online but miss having it! I should have just had it tailored
I've gone from a size 18 to 8!! I'm searching for my style. Your style of presenting has been a huge help during my transition in sizes. I've purchased a majority of my clothing from thrift until I reach my healthy weight goal. I feel more confident and look more confident. Love your tailored, classic style of clothing that never goes out of style. You pair items together beautifully. One look I do not care for, however, is short straight-legged pants over boots. The gap catches the eye immediately and is unattractive.

I'm so with you on the turtleneck + blazer combo-- it's one of my go-tos during the cooler months. Last week I wore a turtleneck + blazer combo inspired by Carl Sagan (I watched an episode of Cosmos the night before 🤣) and I received so many compliments!

Hi Audrey, your tip about a dark turtleneck and dark wash jeans is magic! I never wear turtlenecks because I don’t like the feel against my neck but I found a black mock neck and black jeans today and they look fantastic together. And so slimming! I have a couple blazers I can wear with them to complete the look. Thanks so much.

I absolutely agree with you about the posture. I pay attention to the way people move. The more natural grace and confidence the better they look. As a yoga teacher with a ballet background I really see if somebody feels comfortably in their bodies or not. While watching your video I was going through u wardrobe in my mind trying to find elements you were talking about 😉 And I found them! I love your classic style with a hint of color and silk scarves 🙂

I think turtlenecks are so underrated. I myself used to associate them with uptight, stuffy, boring people whose main concern was to dress conservatively. Now I think they're one of the most elegant, striking, sophisticated, and sexy items you can have in your wardrobe.

Excellent points here. Especially about attention to detail. Takes time and thoughtfulness, and with a busy lifestyle can be hard to achieve. Recently I got a compliment and the woman was studying my look. She noticed that my eye makeup, shirt, and earrings were coordinating. That was a surprise to me, because I normally don't have the time and energy to put that much effort into my appearance, but getting a compliment was a huge payoff. I was following advice from this channel, it was a monochromatic outfit in my color palette that I had put together hanging in the closet days before. Thanks Audrey

Many of my girlfriends think it is amazing that I know a little about what they are interested in.I am working with a couple of professional stylists showing me the basics. Thank you for another beautiful and informative video. My sophisticated uniform is a structured blazer with either a shift dress or tailored pants, a structured handbag, a discreet pair of nice earrings or a string of pearls and a pair of low heeled pump. That would be my corporate look in the air-conditioned office. Otherwise, I hardly wear blazer or cardigan in our tropical weather above 30 degrees Celcius throughout the year.

I appreciate that these videos often begin with non fashion solutions, because they’re free and really achieve the goals. I had one idea to share. Most of the fashion videos I see about classic style are very western focused, using classic pieces with European roots. These videos work for me because that’s my background, but I imagine there are people out there that are trying to grow their personal style and are interested in approaches that are true to their background and context. It would be so interesting to see this same video but with examples of the key themes represented through a more global perspective - like what does modern structured tailoring look like outside of the western context? It sounds like a lot of work, but it would be interesting!

Pleeeeeease do a video on how to look put together in snow and ice! I just moved to a wintery city and have to walk at least a few blocks to work and I cannot find any helpful inspiration on how to avoid looking like a hot mess marshmallow. A heavy weatherproof coat and sturdy flat shoes (i only have chunky construction boots atm) are necessities and are also...challenging to style.
(Edit: I absolutely love your videos! So helpful and you always look cute af. I don't know what inspired the transition to the meditative voice but I'm here for it. You should record personal style mantras and put them on spotify lol)
