This lad was WAYYYY ahead of the status quo, talk bout being ahead o the curve, such a tender age too, a kid really, with extremely deep, dark emotions,..GOD how we need a Joy Division now more than ever x
@@redpixel297 Hi mate, yeah bro that's right, Oct 18th to be precise,..even though I was just born at this time, it's weird as I miss it soooo much my fellow Divisionest,!! Warm regards, Scotland, UK x
Even though there is the rawness there, there is the makings of a beautiful song here...one of their best. The guitar parts are awesome. You can see the great job Martin Hannett did with the sound on the (New Order) version later.
Saw them twice, ULU & Kilburn. The 'just dance' 'others' were on at the same time; Madness, Specials, the beat,: all great bands...so why didn't anyone dance to the 'Post Punk'...well, I saw Ian Curtis live; you just stood in awe, perhaps you might pick your jaw up of the floor...the spectacle was THAT AMAZING!
@@gibson2623 radiohead does probably the best cover but this is basically a demo Joy Division version, we don't know what a JD studio version would sound like .
Ian C, passed on to the next life doing what he loved most! Doctors recommended him to stop touring because of his seizures, but he said Fck that! And he took himself out way earlier then his expedition date😞
As you should, Unknown Pleasures was an incredibly solid first record for a band, in fact a masterpiece. Start with the usual gems Shadow Play, New dawn fades, and She's lost control, once you're at the point where you understand their brilliance, you will find yourself melting into Disorder, Day of the Lords, Insight and all the rest.
Despair, anguish, loneliness, isolation, ... It's a constant fight. Depression is a chronic disease that can be terminal but so much progress has been made to treat depression. I've been in the psych ward four times. I will be 43 y/o in September. I fight it everyday.
Nah, I didn’t take apart all the instruments because that would’ve been a huge undertaking as I was new to mixing back then and this song quality is awful. I just messed with the EQ a bit to make it a bit easier on the ears I could maybe try a remix now, though
New Order sacó canciones ineditas de Joy division y aunque ceremony fue una de ellas, fue compuesta por Ian y la llegaron a tocar en vivo, esta es una versión en vivo de Joy division

People always going on about their favorite version. They are ALL masterpieces and we're so damn lucky to have more than one version to listen to!
Joy Division and subsequently NEW ORDER-musical geniuses, every last one of them...
Totally agree...
Damn right
All those damn people! Forever, watching love grow, forever, letting me know🎵

All time favorite song, so incredibly gorgeous, the emotional range is devastating.
Devastating is the word.
Jamás un grupo con un legado tan corto ha influenciado a tantas bandas. Grandes❤
This is a masterpiece..forever remains one of my favorite bands!🖤🔥🎶🎶✨
Radio head does an incredible studio version of Ceremony.
I was in college in the mid-to-late-'90s, in my bedroom with my bass guitar, trying to figure out how to play Hook's part in this song.
It's fast for bass. Not the fish.

I love both versions, Joy Division and New Order, each with its own peculiarity. ❤️❤️❤️
In my reality, there's no other song as perfect as Ceremony.

Would you say the same old story
Notice why the wheel are turning
Turn away and turn again this time
Listen now the savior calling
Time again and we will be here
Notice that the tide walks higher
Lean again and change it's way this time
I'll break them all no mercy shown
Heaven knows it's got to crack somewhere
Watching her, a sinking ship
The times she cried, too frail to wake this time
I'll break them all no mercy shown
Heaven knows it's got to be somewhere
Avenues all lined with trees
Picture me and then you start watching
I was told, where your faith goes
Now I was told, may it be so
Truth to be told, shall it be so
