    I've had this set since January and love it. Havnt had an problems so far. I will say, LG advertises this washer with a drum light on their LG site in pictures but it does not have a drum light. It's not a big deal but kinda misleading when looking at the washer online. Other than that, it's been a great investment so far. Highly recommended and not to mention, extremely quite even on high spin. Very happy with my decision to purchase this model. I feel this model is the sweet spot for the money. Large capacity, turbo wash 360, steam and thinq connectivity ( wifi) only 2 features not included is auto dispense and drum light.

    I've had mine about 2mos. I LOVE IT.
    It's the only washer I have ever used that can get coffee stains out of a white shirt.
    Spin a load of towels at 1300rpm and they will come out of the dryer in about 20minutes. Incredible.
    Only question: How long will it last?
    Ans: I have no idea.

    Very helpful video with a lot of good information. My laundry room has washer hookup on the right and dryer vent on the left. Only GE and Electrolux front loads have reversible doors. I really like the LG front load WM4000 but it does not have reversible doors. What is your view on crossing the washer and dryer hoses? By this I mean putting the washer on the left and dryer on the right and then crossing their respective cords, hoses etc. The GE GFW655 front load washer and matching dryer have reversible doors but the units are wider (28") and deeper (32") than the LG. When adding in the up to 4 inch clearance behind the machine the GE would have a very big footprint in my laundry room. I heard mixed reviews on the Electrolux and some negative things about their drain filter being underneath the machine and very hard to get to if you need to clear a blockage. So - my preference is the LG if it's OK to cross the hoses. Any advice you can give is appreciated.

      Hi, good questions here, I came across exactly the same issues. What did you end up buying? How are the dryer and washer working for you so far?

  • @anderivative
    @anderivative 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Bought the washer WM4000 (WM4000HBA is the black and WM4000HWA is the white) and dryer DLGX400 (DLGX4001B is the black and DLGX4001W is the white) from Home Depot. Additional parts needed to use it plus installation and free delivery totaled about $2,200. People seem to love this thing so I'll report back after a few cycles!

      We installed the white washer 3 months ago and the clothes are clean.
      It does seem to be efficient, it just takes longer than our older model. You need to keep that in mind if you have say one uniform you need to wash frequently for the next day. When son used to play in little league and we had a game the next day, wed peel off his uniform and start a load.

    What total height when on a pedestal? Would prefer a real world measure rather than just adding the spec. stats. I have 53 inches clearance max.

      For reliability it's maytag 575 or speed queen tc5 for top loaders, or at least according to many on the internet. I got this lg bad boy though

    Have been deciding on this , ge650 and the Electrolux. I really like the dispenser but hate the look of 650. I would still get the 650 but its also a big bigger then the others i think? 32inch depth is a bit much for my small space but i am still trying to think if i really want that feature and just accept the tighter space that it will occupy. Or should i just go for the LG which will fit better in the room but doesnt have the dispenser.

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's personal preference for you. The dispenser feature is nice but I would want to make sure the unit fits in my space the way I would like it to. Remember its not only the machine depth but also the extra few inches behind the unit needed for supply hookups.

    I just got my LG WM400 today. I am a bit confused by the turbowash option. Does it get clothes as clean as the cycles that don't use it? When would I choose to turn off turbowash and why? Also, how do the sanitize, allergen and steam cycles differ? I am not finding much explanation from LG about these cycles and want to ensure I am getting my clothes as clean as possible.

    • @YaleAppliance1
      @YaleAppliance1  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      and your salesperson explained?....anyway: use steam for tough stains, sanitize is extra hot for whites. Allergin is good for clothes with pet dander, pollens, etc...
      Just kidding about the salesperson comment...happy to help.

    Bought an Electrolux set, loved it until discovered there is NO Easy Access!! You literally have to take apart the machine, top, front panels, control unit and flange! Or access filter/drain from under feet of washer. Unbelievable! After all the work and planning building these! Not good if you are stacking units! So close to well done! I can't understand why they felt customers SHOULD do that.....monthly??!!

    This is a weird comment, but your body language looks rehearsed like an algorithm. It distracted the shit outta me. I know this was 11 months ago só maybe you already improved this. But I figured I'd give the constructive criticism of maybe adding variety or using more emotion and less algorithms with your body language.

    2 lg front load washer in 9 years developed bad bearing. DO NOT BUY LG FRONT LOAD WASHER FROM LG. You have been warned.

    • @greggriffin287
      @greggriffin287 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      $50 per bearing ($115 total if you replace both bearing plus the seal that probably went bad causing water to get into the bearing). Takes about 2 hours to replace if working by yourself. I had to do this on my 6 year old washing machine last year (first time I ever repaired a washing machine aside from replacing the drain pump). That being said, top loading machines usually last longer and are more reliable, unless you spend the money and get a commercial front loader.

      using the same lg front load washer and dryer from 2007 and it is now 2023. It has been used with two adults and 3 kids at it's busiest over the years. Zero repairs to the washer and I changed the dryer lint filter once for about $20 from Amazon. Just doing research for new ones for my girlfriend for her new house
