I'm a sprinkler fitter I'm in the service department I usually rebuilt fire pumps, backflows I also do fire pump controllers and fire alarms I'm out of Naples florida
I was going to send an application but the union is in alameda CA and that city is near Oakland which turns me away from the union. I’ll go to almost any city but Oakland would for sure always be a no from me.
@@phoenixdna7133 learn how to thread pipe , know the fittings and then be willing to work , pretty much it will always be a learn on the job senario , but being prepared makes the other guys life easier

Fitter Krueger hey fitter! I just applied for an apprenticeship with pipe fitting! Do you think you can give me some background information on the career?
I'm a qualified sprinkler fitter/inspector, and I would never go union. I like the money I make, the company supplied van, tools, health insurance, and retirement plan.
I’ll guarantee I made mire money than you as a 3rd year apprentice. It’s funny cause I have everything you have PLUS two pension, all expenses paid, vacation, etc aaaaannnnndddd I make a hell of a lot more than you. So go ahead and hate on unions. You couldn’t hold my chanellocks buddy.
Couldn’t agree with you more buddy. It’s a no brainer especially for the retirement. Guys that are non union they for some reason get this notion that union guys are lazy and always laid off. That’s so far from the truth. Granted there are guys in every union trade that are lazy and are always laid off but those are exceptions. Those are the couple guys that give us a bad name. But like you said once the package is laid out in front of you to see the numbers you’d be an idiot to go non union. The numbers don’t lie. Two paid pensions, wages much higher and that’ll also depend what part of the country your in. Common sense.
You’re working in a construction site and working with steel all day long what else would you expect tard, I’d drop something on you on purpose so you show up the next day with a chin strap attached to your hardhat!

How much you guys earning in the US?
Too much
All depends on which part of the country you’re working in. It’s going to range from high 20s to low 70s.
Starting out in my area about 15- 19 a hour, after you are capable of running jobs high 20s to 40s non union
Is a 54 years old male still on time to become an apprentice?
If you want my honest opinion I’d say yes because you’d have to work at least 15 years to get a vested pension. You’d be 70.
This video doesn’t do true sprinkler fitting justice. It’s a very physically demanding job but I mean hey, if you wanna do it what’s stopping you
I started at 22 got 5 years in the trade👍
@hobbit lad yo just turned 39 and I'm starting my apprenticeship next week
