So wonderful! By the end of aaaall steps I thought my dice wouldnt work it all ( I got lost and thought I'd missed one of those 12871812 steps, hahaha). Jokes aside, the dice worked perfectly! For my needs, I made a single adjustment: Inserted the "spinning wheel" on a button, so my students will click on it for rolling the dice. Congrats and cheers for sharing!
Amazing tutorial. Rather than using other online virtual dice rollers, I needed my own for teaching my online classes. I don't want to be navigating through different websites. It's easier to have it on ppt. Thank you so much :).
This is just AWESOME. I even added sound to the animation, but I must have done something wrong along the way since my die lands on one most of the time.
If you click in the same place at the end of each dice roll, the timing could mean that you are clicking the same segment. Try waiting a little before clicking again. Usually, if you are using each throw as part of a game, the game action will mean that there is a much longer gap between each click on the dice which makes it more random. If you are only getting three numbers regularly, the problem is probably with your segments. Here's a previous answer I've given to this problem: When you make the segment groups, one segment should be No Fill / No Outline the opposite segment of the group should be 100% transparent / No outline. (So it still has a 'clickable' fill - it's just transparent). Try copy / pasting the 3 that work and re-position and re-link them to the other three numbers. You could also have the clickable segments with a colour fill of say 30% transparency so you can see them until they are re-sized and moved into position, then make each individual segment 100% transparent. Make sure all the segments are 'brought to front' on top of the dice. Hope this helps.
It'd probably be super useful to also link an already made dice in the description. I think you did a good job with the tutorial, but it is quite a hassle to make.
Thank you. I've added a link in the description box that goes some way towards this. Alternatively, you could find a game with dice on my website, like 'More or Less' and copy/paste a fully working die from the PPTX file.

Hello, again. When I spin my dice it always lands on the same number or I have to click a billion times. Do you know what I did wrong? I followed you r tutorial step by step, but maybe I missed something vital.
Are all the trigger segments rotating? Are they all rotating 'With Previous' at the top of the Animation Pane. If you want to send me your PPTX file I can take a look.
@@powerpointgamer Hi, yes all the trigger segments were exactly right. But I fixed the problem! When I added the spin animation to the circle it was too fast so after I slowed it down a bit it worked. 🌸 Thank you for your response. Have a great week!
Good question. No, you can't. The Spin animation works from the object's centre so you need to have a filled half and a 'ghost' half. Try getting a triangle and giving it a spin animation and you'll see how it spins from its centre. You would have six segments spinning like this if they were not grouped with their opposites. (Hope this makes sense!).
Thank you. In the Spin > Effect dialogue box, type-in 720 degrees - then hit the 'Enter' button on your keyboard. Just clicking 'OK' for that box won't save what you have typed. Get back to me if this doesn't work.
