Making the two versions to be conjoined twins is literally fantastic
It actually kinda reminds me of that monster high character who are also conjoined twins and mermaids. They're supposedly the daughters of Hydra. They're called Peri and Pearl Serpentine.

The worst part is that the ending is actually semi true. The person the mermaid was in love with got with someone else (I believe the original story said he married his nanny). Don't quote me. One of the originals the mermaid was actually a merman who fell in love with a human man. The man turned out to be straight, though, and ofc married someone else. Both stories have the same ending. The mermaid/merman turns into foam that forms on the oceans surface (sea foam).
And also is that freaking Rick Ashley kissing!!!!!!!!!!???

That’s the ending the original genuinely deserves. Ariel’s a narcissistic hoarder who nearly dooms her entire species over some guy she never met and at the end learns nothing but still gets exactly what she wants.
