THAT was very helpful and very informative about comparators if you make some more video's will very thankful for that I was 3 days ago get accident I am ok but pain is still there hopefully will recover in 1 week Best regards from Philippines 🇵🇭
Very clear, now i understand more Op amps. In your next video, can you show how to make it ONLY 12v adjustable in voltage and current, and get rid of 3.3v and 5v to have a nice bench lab regulated power supply. Thanks.
Thank for your video. You explain the circuit associated with LM339 embedded in an ATX power supply so well. It is complicated for reader without electronic background. To disable those protection may be dangerous, are there any method to raise the trigger voltage for overvoltage protection? (e.g. 14.5V up to 24V at 12V output)?
This is most excellent. Thank you. I have a consideration. But, first, let us check my understanding... The first section of the LM339 is making sure that the DUT's power supply has a ground. This is a method of testing that the supply polarity is connected correctly; yes? The second section tests to determine that the DUT's supply current is correct. The third section tests to determine that the DUT's supply voltage is correct. The forth section tests to determine that the DUT's output voltage is correct. If I have my understanding correctly, then the LM339 is testing the majority of all of the functions of the DUT's power supply and its final output. Further, if so, I wonder why this very simple and inexpensive method is not routinely included in linear power supply devices. The cost of the LM339 would be about equivalent to whatever reverse polarity protection is used for the DUT and it tests so many more properties. My assumption would be that it is not this cost that is the burden, but rather the additional cost of the downstream components needed for switching. Or, that it will not work for linear applications. So, I conclude with a few questions... If it will not work in linear environments, why not? If it will work in linear environments, do you have a link to a particular device where it is employed and which has a schematic available to study? I would be exceedingly interested in you reviewing such a linear application. (I would think that such a linear device would be some very expensive, precision instrument that would warrant the cost.) Please and thank you, as always. Cheers!

i have this PSU, it works but i have 5.5V on 5V rail without and with load so it is out of 5% tolerance, hmm how to fix it? elyt on 5V rail looks ok, i also checked small elyts around LM comparator, looks all good, so i dunno how 5.0v happend on comparator input instead of 4.6V ... any advice?
thanks a lot for your valuable comment i don't get any donation, and by the blessings of God, a large portion of my income is being disbursed among poor and deserving people and old age citizens who don't have their any income, and widows. special thanks and sautes for your valuable comment

It seems I can increase the voltage to about 15V but connecting or changing the load trips the protection. I can short the 7500 PWM pin 4 and it's stable. What if I add a 1uf capacitor on LM339, pin5. Wouldn't that slow the response of the protection circuit but not disable it?
bro puranay model ki suply me id tda 16888 and hp 1001wa lagay huaya he un par aik plz video banda do voltage up regulaate karnay ki or by pass protection ki
good morning sir I'm Umesh Parashar from Noida in India sir jaise kisi bhi SMPS se stand by 5 volt bante hai thik usi ke barabar mein 12 se 16 volt bhi bante hein agar wo voltage drop ho rahe ho to kya kare capacitor 100 mfd 50 change kar liya aur diode fr 104 bhi change kar liya phir bhi voltage pure nahi aa rahe hai sir please help me circuit LM 7500 with SDC 339 hai
Be very careful. Power supplies are the most dangerous devices I work on. They can actually kill. Those giant capacitors need to be discharged with a high wattage resistor and confirmed to be dead with a volt meter set to DC within the range of the volt rating of the capacitor. The heat sinks are usually live when the power is connected.
yes brother you are perfect, the capacitor bank is really dangerous. we must take care for safety but if we work logically and keeping safety points. then it is safe to work

yes brother

I have set the 12V output to 13.8V and do not use 5V or 3.3V output. How can I reset overvoltage protection to a higher voltage?

Can you do a video on EGS002 Pure Sine Wave Inverter Drive Board SPWM
