IT'S DEATH!!!!
BOOM BOOM
That opening, self-titled track might just be the coolest DG song ever. I really wish they kept making music like this - the industrial hip-hop/punk rock hybrid. It sounds absolutely magnificent.
it sounds very much like zach hill's solo stuff
Have you listened to "Lightning's Girl"? I assume they wouldn't be able to get away with sampling this heavily and actually selling their music
That's one of my favorite tracks from DG as well. Check out the Andy Morin and Zack Hill side project The I.L.Y's if you dig the punk/rock influences.
Isn't that what Jenny Death mostly is though?
@@BLooDCoMPleX Jenny Death is more noise rock and digital hardcore, whereas EP and Exmil are industrial and punk.

I love that their first song is, "Death Grips". It's a suitable way to begin the legend.
tetrisclock And their last song would have been Death Grips 2.0 if they really broke up, would have been a fitting finish as well.
Shabazzi Bam
Like a proper goodbye after probably one of their best songs (on GP).
@@peppermillers8361 their best and most genuine song in my opinion

the first is actually full moon
Face Melter may be the most upbeat track they've ever done.
+James Cairns well to be fair : How to do impossible things sounds optimistic
+Jesus of Cool Thats argueable. I really like face melter because of the chords, it reminds me of so many things. Like a 70's police chase or Mario Paint or some shit. In my opinion all their songs are really good. Except some from TPTB.
+atomictrash I hate this comment
atomictrash RUNWAY N IS SUCH AN AMAZING SONG. the really glossy polysynth one. The first one off the album. It makes me feel like im in a vintage arcade. its so great. When i went to see Death Grips live they were playing the fashion week album and i was so intrigued by Runway N holy shit
eh or i've seen footage for me tbh

2012: We came to blow your system
If you listen to this in its entirety and then listen to Niggas On the Moon directly afterwards, your head will explode.
you lied to me
they are extremely different
The optimal way to listen to death grips is to listen to all of their songs including obscure ones like poser killer and fyred up and then just skip every single song on niggas on the moon and never listen to them.

these were their only good works. everything else is just fluff.

Vinay Arun Thanks! i didn't think anyone would notice. I got this of ghostly lol.
Vinay Arun there's plenty of masterpiece rock albums. I like rock and hip hop but this band just doesn't not appeal to me at all. The rapper is really off beat half the time
Daily Boosters learn polyrythms. He's actually rapping in true triplets, or using quarter note triplets, which is really cool, because that means he also has a deep rhythmic knowledge. I'd like to see what a 7/4 song(like money by pink Floyd) by then would sound like

While they choose to get used everyday
Running highs you might break if their own reek of fear
Why you wish we were here
While I say, "Get the fuck out my way"
Fit to get cut by fist gut if you stay
Thought you was on top, but not no more
That's right, whore, we're fucking you
(All right)
Fucking you
Thought you knew we had shit locked to the beat street don't stop
Licking shots for the old school freaks doing the robot
Hear this devil spit next lower heat blowin' up yo' spot
Fear high drop to your knees, trick, you know what we want
That's right, bitch, best believe this that shit you forgot
Ever was, but it is through my blood, need that fix

Gotta catch that but lead off that high head row
Give me the mic and step back, cuz
Need to rip that, watch me bust
Where you going? Not knowing till we get there
Jack 'em off of it
The sword what you're holding till you get well
Have to hit 'em off with all you know and got that gold that make it cracked again

The fact that so many books still name the Death Grips "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rock band ever only tells you how far rock music still is from becoming a serious art. Jazz critics have long recognized that the greatest jazz musicians of all times are Vapor Wave and Swans, who were not the most famous or richest or best sellers of their times, let alone of all times. Classical critics rank the highly controversial Beethoven over classical musicians who were highly popular in courts around Europe. Rock critics are still blinded by commercial success: the Death Grips sold more than anyone else (not true, by the way), therefore they must have been the greatest. Jazz critics grow up listening to a lot of jazz music of the past, classical critics grow up listening to a lot of classical music of the past. Rock critics are often totally ignorant of the rock music of the past, they barely know the best sellers. No wonder they will think that the Death Grips did anything worth of being saved.
rock???!!
Death grips has not been documented as the best selling but the most legally downloaded artists ever because No Love Deep Web was released free and was downloaded several hundred thousand times and Exmilitary, Black Google, Government Plates are still available to download free.

I like how this is almost as long as steroids

Rumour has it one time Oloff was sat next to Jar Jar Binks on a flight. Jar Jar kept kicking the chair in front of him and generally being obnoxious, nobody knew what to do. Eventually one of the flight attendants came over and asked Oloff if he would perform one of his songs to calm Jar Jar down, and when Oloff began rapping the first verse to Doing It Stealthy, Jar Jar immediately relaxed. To this day the two are still close friends.
Why is nobody talking about how the last song is actually I want it I need it?
you can really realize that they were still distancing themselves from more mainstream genres like rock and roll and hip hop
