Tororo residents protest poor state of 8km road

  • Angry residents of the Katagula sub-county in Tororo district have expressed concern about the poor state of the road by carrying placards, and branches of trees, and planting banana suckers on the 8km Nagongera-Katagula-Kirewa road. The road has been impassable for the last 4 years. The residents want the government to repair the road's huge gullies, big potholes, and most of the bridges, which have been washed away due to the rains. Albert Amula, the deputy RDC of Tororo, admitted that the situation had been worsened by a low budget of under 500 million shillings.

    And you call it unfortunate ? These are people who only wait for pay cheques at the end of the month. They dont care at all about the people who use those roads to earn a living.
