One episode per week, every Wednesday at 5pm!
On a cursed island, plagued by a strange plague called “the Evil Being”, a king has his alchemists develop a remedy to save his people from the disease… but the antidote turns the inhabitants of the kingdom into monsters! He then decides to create an army using the latter, but very quickly, the situation becomes uncontrollable… A prophecy reveals the advent of an immortal hero, who will bring peace by killing the Demon King, responsible for this chaos. It will be the duty of Laure Esposito, a young guardian of the Order of Truth, to find this chosen one at the head of flame and to save the world from its destruction. Great good does him, because for the chosen one, find the cure to the Evil-Being: he does not care. To bring peace? He wants above all that we give it to him!

I like how religious scriptures depict in-game version of Beheaded with a glowing cross, but in reality we have Bobby
Considering what happened in the game and the beheaded not being Bobby, I personally think this story won’t end well for him, death wish or not

Me too, but then I'm pretty sure at the end of season one, Beheaded (Or Bobby, Idk what they call him in this series), doesn't want to die and then they leave us on a cliffhanger for the next season. That's my guess tbh

I didn’t expect that voice for the beheaded! Also, I really enjoyed the little references to the gameplay.
Fr! I thought he'd be a silent protagonist like Chell from Portal, but wow they really cooked!
I always thought the beheaded would be more like Charlie Chaplin and wouldn't talk at all and just communicate in mimes and signs. But this is better for storytelling purposes i guess. Still an awesome start to what can be a great series. Way to go.

@@Humustopia they'd run out of budget before ever getting out the first episode if they did what you're suggesting bruh, the only downside i see with the artstyle is that it needs some line variation but other than that its charming, just get rid of the ms paint look with some different shades
Im glad they kept the beheaded's personality. What matters more than the budget is that its got heart
Honnêtement c'est très bien fait j'adore le rendu en cartoon avec toutes les voix des personnages sans oublié la touche d'humour un très bon travail comme d'habitude impatient pour la suite
J’suis pas religieux moi-même, mais cette dernière réplique de la dame Esposito sur la foi était plutôt nette. C’est quand même beau qu’elle peut manifester une telle confiance.

To be perfectly honest, this isn’t exactly what I wanted from a Dead Cells series. However, I can’t deny that for what this series is, the more comedic direction is pretty great. The game always had some pretty unserious moments. Great job, Bobbypills.
What’s with the censoring of the association with Evil Empire in the credits, though?
Ok so, i'm an huge Dead Cells fan, i got over 500 hours on that game, initially i tought that this wasn't going to be good, but you actually surprised me, i love the dub, and if we imagine that the story is set in another realm, maybe after the events of the game this is actually some peak animation and lore

I just finished the chapter. And as a fan, im really dissapointed. The story isnt even about boby, is about the girl. And the character inst really what the og trailers showed in the past. I dont mind him talking, i mind him being stupid for the sake of being funny.

@AnimationDigitalNetwork his ancestor and because like in games, overrun with dark magic, and these monsters unlike more animalistic monster's. Most of attack we attack in game summoning monsters got loose normal fade away but the dark magic make them stay. Why attack people by looking like them.

Some of the team wanted to continue working on dead cells so they created evil empire to do that under the supervision of motion twin. They didn't get fired, they simply moved on to other projects like prince of persia rogue

J'adore décidément les séries d'animation françaises, je ne connais pas du tout le jeu (même si j'aime bien certains rogue like) mais l'épisode pilote m'a donné envie !
et ben c'est une bonne occase pour découvrir le jeu qui est juste excellent un des meilleurs jeux de cette décennie même à mes yeux

Perso je trouve cette série extraordinaire. Je l'ai partagée autant que possible. 10 épisodes de moins de 10' c'est pas beaucoup mais c'est tout juste ce qu'il fallait pour ne pas refaire un Wakfu (j'adore) ou un Scissors 7 qui ont trop souvent tendance à faire durer. Simple, efficace. Merci beaucoup !!!!!!

I enjoyed it! But I have a request: could you add subtitles in French (of the not-autogenerated variety)?
I don't speak French well enough to catch everything (especially what's said by the brute in tiny goggles), and English subtitles aren't 100% true to the original lines.
Man i just wish bobby had a bit more muscle, that's all. Overall the style is really good, quite nice.

While I'm a little unsure about the this series, I do appreciate the depiction of The Beheaded being this dumb, selfish, asshole, I don't mind him talking since I always imagined him with a voice and most importantly using his signature frying pan.
Gente, escuta com calma tá, não tá ruim mas o medo em se é vocês fugirem muito da história do jogo, olha tudo bem se não quiserem me ouvir mas de coração se eu fosse vocês que tão trabalhando nessa série de dead cells, eu ia estudar o jogo e sua lore e características e pelo menos pegar 89% do jogo e botar na série com o que vocês já apresentaram no primeiro episódio da série, e com o tempo o pessoal vai gostar, por isso por favor tomem cuidado com o roteiro que estão levando e tentem não mudar muito o dead cells, desejo bastante sorte para vocês
