I have five of the Winex purifiers, two of this model (5500) and three of the 5300. All have long term reliability issues. One motor is almost dead after 3-4 years (5300). Another motor is making a high pitch noise so it is ready for the trash (5300). The other three have motors that now over-rev on the highest setting. Granted I have run them 24/7 on the third or fourth (when it was working) setting for this time. My honeywell which is 6 years old still runs perfectly but lacks a lot of features. Hopefully the two Levoits I bought do better in the long term.
@@stlouisramsfan03 I have two Levoits now but they don't seem to remove VOC's very well. I have ultimately settled on the 5500-2 and now have four of those as the 5300's died. They do have an issue with over revving in the highest setting after they are a little older. The older two both do this. I just run them on the third setting and it's all good.
The review I have been waiting for!!! I appreciate your channel so much and have made purchases based off your reviews. This video was the show down I have been waiting for!
@@AirPurifierFirst Hi! Which one is better for removing odors from home? My condo has poor ventilation so when I cook, it makes the whole places smell like whatever it is that I prepared. I have the winix currently and I run it as I am cooking, but I still feel like the place smells like food.
does it matter where we put it in the room? does levoit circular shape works better put in the middle of the room? does winix squareish shape works better when put next to a wall?
Because Winnix pre filter and carbon filter can be cleaned before hepa filter replacement do you have better filtration for the year before you replace the hepa filters? Heard placing carbon filter in front of hepa in wininx also filters out more big dust than the levoit also making the Hepa filter last longer on the wininix.
I want to used one of the two for when i smoke cuban cigare inside the house(1 time a week), my wife dosen’t smoke so i am looking for the best smell control as possible. Wich one will be you better option considering the ozone production on winix and that we have a dog at home and i will let it run for 24H hours mto be sure it smell nothing? Thanks for your answer 🙋♂️
I want to buy an air purifier in order to improve both air quality and remove odors from the environment (body odors). Which one would you recommend, please?
The Levoit Core 400S is still one of the best-performing air purifiers, and I often recommend it to new buyers. In my opinion, this information doesn’t significantly impact the Core 400S’s overall rating.
Probably since the review writer and the video editor isnt the same person, editor will pick the best footage he thinks fits, but the person who tested it wrote it. I see stuff like this in reviews of everything.

Wow. I was considering a Winix D360, D480, C535, and a 5500-2. Would you recommend another brand for me to buy?

What did you end up getting?
I was thinking the Levoir Everest Air would serve you well.
Wow what an upset! Levoit just upseated the #1 contender! Great video
What is the pre-filter for the core400? Just the plastic vent on the outside?
Yes, you are right! It's a plastic mesh attached to the True HEPA filter.
Great work! looks like ill try the 400.
Glad you like it!
Have you already gotten the Levoit Core 400S? Do you like it?
@@AirPurifierFirst I ended up going with the 600. So far I like it.

I'm disappointed that the filters aren't HEPA after all 😢. I own four Levoits. Does this change your opinion of the 400S, AirPurifierFirst?
Why do you say it's not HEPA?
@danielbpx Well Levoit got in trouble over their statement that they were "True HEPA".
The Levoit Core 400S is still one of the best-performing air purifiers, and I often recommend it to new buyers.
In my opinion, this information doesn’t significantly impact the Core 400S’s overall rating.
@@AirPurifierFirst What about Levoit 400s vs Smartmi p1?
The Levoit Core 400S has a higher CADR, a larger filter, and performed better in our tests. Therefore, I would pick it.
For pet fur particle. Which one does a better job
Hmm, I vote for the Winix.
Winix - I own 3 and am watching this video considering if I want to buy 2 more. The washable pre-filter catches a great amount of pet hair and dander.
The Winix Zero Pro has a voc sensors and Dust and 410 Covered
I haven't tried it yet, but will do it in the future. Thanks for the suggestion!
I just bought the winix but I might buy the levoit next for a secondary purifier and that is produces no ozone
Which one would be best for pet hair & dander, 5500 2 be better due to its pre-filter screen?
I vote for the Winix.
So how bad is the zones???
It won't produce any ozone if you turn the PlasmaWave off.
The noise test literally shows the winix at 44 and you claim it's at 40.
Probably since the review writer and the video editor isnt the same person, editor will pick the best footage he thinks fits, but the person who tested it wrote it.

I bet the core 600S would be a great buy.
Sigara için hangisi iyi?cepap lütfen
The Winix 5500-2. Please use English; I had to use Google Translate for your question. Thanks.
I don’t give a rats ass about app connection people so lazy these days can’t even get up and take one step 😂😂😂
With electricity up to .50 per kw/h where I live.... Its a no brainer, the Levoit is much cheaper to run. X-D
Which one best for smoking room?
I would choose the Winix for a smoking room.
I thought ionizers emit ozone which is a big no?!
You can turn it off.
Indeed, just press the PlasmaWave button after turning the device on, and it won’t produce any ozone.
Other reviews have shown the Winix doesn't produce any ozone
It doesn’t produce any ozone when the PlasmaWave feature is off. When it’s on, it produces ozone, but in allowed amounts.
The plasmawave produces a nondetectable amount of ozone, but not no ozone
Can i use both?
No, only one, you cant have then both 😡
Yes you can use both
Who cares about sound and cost,. What do they actually do and clean hello
Many of us do care about sound. What good it will have if it cleans the air but wont make people sleep???? Dumb ass
