You can reach Petra by road from Amman or Aqaba, the only two airports in Jordan. You can even book a tourist bus called JETT (booking link below).
Don't forget to take a Jordan Pass which costs just 70-80 JOD and includes visa fee and entrance fee to most of the tourist destinations in Jordan, including Petra! This is the best deal since visa-on-arrival fee itself is 40 JOD and Petra entrance fee is minimum 50 JOD.
You can book your hotel in Wadi Musa when visiting Petra. You can also watch Petra by Night on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (17 JOD ticket)
Entry Fee:
Entry fee of Petra is 50 JOD (₹ 5900) for 1 day and 55 JOD (₹ 6500) for 2 days and 60 JOD (₹ 7000) for 3 days.
Currency:
You can convert US$ to JOD in Aqaba or Amman. So carry USD from India and convert to JOD in Jordan.
