Even if Daddy Freeze didn't say it, the bible did in Deuteronomy 14 v26; “... You may spend the money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen, or sheep, or wine, or strong drink, or whatever your heart desires; and there you shall eat in the presence of the LORD your God and rejoice, you and your household".
The so called "man of God" should have just kept mum and abode by the tenets of Proverbs 17 v28.

This man or so called pastor is quoting freeze out of context, simply because he does not have anything to say to the tithe criticism. The pastor should account for what he does with the tithes of his congregation, these men enrich themselves stupendously at the expense of their gullible followers and they seem not to have any sort of conscience.

I respect Pastor Adeboye but this subject is very controversial and needs further explanation because the bible has various directives on tithing, believe it or not to my greatest surprise reference to alcohol in the church is in the bible..
Deuteronomy 14:26 King James Version (KJV)
26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for STRONG DRINK, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
    Further reading
    Deutronomy 14:22-29 [On Tithe]
“You shall tithe all the yield of your seed that comes from the field year by year. And before the LORD your God, in the place that he will choose, to make his name dwell there, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and flock, that you may learn to fear the LORD your God always. And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, when the LORD your God blesses you, because the place is too far from you, which the LORD your God chooses, to set his name there, then you shall turn it into money and bind up the money in your hand and go to the place that the LORD your God chooses and spend the money for whatever you desire-oxen or sheep or wine or strong drink, whatever your appetite craves. And you shall eat there before the LORD your God and rejoice, you and your household. And you shall not neglect the Levite who is within your towns, for he has no portion or inheritance with you.
“At the end of every three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in the same year and lay it up within your towns. And the Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled, that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.

    Deuteronomy‬ ‭14:22-29‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    bible.com/116/deu.14.22-29.nlt
You must set aside a tithe of your crops-one-tenth of all the crops you harvest each year. Bring this tithe to the designated place of worship-the place the Lord your God chooses for his name to be honored-and eat it there in his presence. This applies to your tithes of grain, new wine, olive oil, and the firstborn males of your flocks and herds. Doing this will teach you always to fear the Lord your God. “Now when the Lord your God blesses you with a good harvest, the place of worship he chooses for his name to be honored might be too far for you to bring the tithe. If so, you may sell the tithe portion of your crops and herds, put the money in a pouch, and go to the place the Lord your God has chosen. When you arrive, you may use the money to buy any kind of food you want-cattle, sheep, goats, wine, or other alcoholic drink. Then feast there in the presence of the Lord your God and celebrate with your household. And do not neglect the Levites in your town, for they will receive no allotment of land among you. “At the end of every third year, bring the entire tithe of that year’s harvest and store it in the nearest town. Give it to the Levites, who will receive no allotment of land among you, as well as to the foreigners living among you, the orphans, and the widows in your towns, so they can eat and be satisfied. Then the Lord your God will bless you in all your work.”

    Deuteronomy 14:22-29
    New International Version
    Tithes
22 Be sure to set aside a tenth of all that your fields produce each year. 23 Eat the tithe of your grain, new wine and olive oil, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks in the presence of the Lord your God at the place he will choose as a dwelling for his Name, so that you may learn to revere the Lord your God always. 24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away), 25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose. 26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice. 27 And do not neglect the Levites living in your towns, for they have no allotment or inheritance of their own.
28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns, 29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.

    THE CONTROVERSIAL PASSAGE ON TITHES
Before you read the passages below, one BIG ADVICE to all peoples of faith - Let's not MAJOR on "minors." Majoring on "minors" create unnecessary controversies. Simply honor the Lord with your substance. End of story.
    Deuteronomy 14:22-29 (NIV)
24 But if that place is too distant and you have been blessed by the Lord your God and cannot carry your tithe (because the place where the Lord will choose to put his Name is so far away),
25 then exchange your tithe for silver, and take the silver with you and go to the place the Lord your God will choose.
28 At the end of every three years, bring all the tithes of that year’s produce and store it in your towns,
29 so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their own) and the foreigners, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the Lord your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
Deuteronomy 14:22-29 King James Version (KJV)
    Tithe
22 Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, that the field bringeth forth year by year.
23 And thou shalt eat before the Lord thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the Lord thy God always.
24 And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it; or if the place be too far from thee, which the Lord thy God shall choose to set his name there, when the Lord thy God hath blessed thee:
25 Then shalt thou turn it into money, and bind up the money in thine hand, and shalt go unto the place which the Lord thy God shall choose:
26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the Lord thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,
27 And the Levite that is within thy gates; thou shalt not forsake him; for he hath no part nor inheritance with thee.
28 At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates:
29 And the Levite, (because he hath no part nor inheritance with thee,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, which are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that the Lord thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hand which thou doest.
Deuteronomy 14:22-29 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
    A Tenth for the Lord
22 “Each year you are to set aside a tenth of all the produce grown in your fields.
23 You are to eat a tenth of your grain, new wine, and oil, and the firstborn of your herd and flock, in the presence of Yahweh your God at the place where He chooses to have His name dwell, so that you will always learn to fear the Lord your God.
24 But if the distance is too great for you to carry it, since the place where Yahweh your God chooses to put His name is too far away from you and since the Lord your God has blessed you,
25 then exchange it for money, take the money in your hand, and go to the place the Lord your God chooses.
26 You may spend the money on anything you want: cattle, sheep, wine, beer, or anything you desire. You are to feast there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice with your family.
27 Do not neglect the Levite within your gates, since he has no portion or inheritance among you.
28 “At the end of every three years, bring a tenth of all your produce for that year and store it within your gates.
29 Then the Levite, who has no portion or inheritance among you, the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow within your gates may come, eat, and be satisfied. And the Lord your God will bless you in all the work of your hands that you do.
THERE YOU HAVE IT ... the controversial words!
    *Fermented drink *Strong drink *Beer.
Let's talk about that before we talk about the tithe issue.
Before you give yourself a license to drink, you have to know that God would not authorize his people to engage in acts that will be injurious to them. Honestly, if you know what they call wine or strong drink in those days, you would laugh your heads off, when you compare those drinks to the wines and strong drinks of nowadays. Technology has developed man's ability to brew and distill ethanol. Let's even bring the time a little closer. Paul advised Timothy to use "little" strong drink (or wine) for his stomach's sake. Did you think a preacher like Paul would want to make Tim take something injurious to him? No. Young brother Tim may be slightly elated by the drink, yes, because of the ethanol content, but the "little" amount wears off rather quickly. The set purpose was healing for his body. In the same vein, God wanted his people to enjoy the fruit of their labor. To take the wines of those days (made from their fruits, their produce) which make their hearts merry. Of course, quantity still mattered.
Now, there is no generic rule in the New Testament (and not even in the Old Testament) that tells us to go and drink. In several passages of the Old and New, God demonstrated that he is against people given to strong drink.
Let's talk about the tithe side of the story.
I want to believe there are two tithes mentioned in this passage. One, the tithe or tenth part of your increase (your produce, your income) which you set apart for your personal merriment. God validated their need for merriment and enjoyment, after much labor. He asked them to enjoy that tenth (tithe). Verse 23.
However, there is a second tithe or tenth God said should be set aside or made available within the gates (in the third year) for others such as Levites (priests), the orphans, foreigners (travelers who pass through their land) and widows. Verses 28, 29. But why was that? Because these people had no means of livelihood.
Hence, there is nothing wrong if a minister in full time ministry gets blessed by the people he ministers to. But having said that, the idea of priesthood has changed. It is not modernity that changed it, it's Jesus that changed. Today's ministers should work. If they can't work, they should write books or put record some inspiring messages or songs for people to buy and listen to. People will buy it. Many ministers are actually doing that. Nobody should use ministry as an excuse for laziness.
Paul said in Acts 20:33, "I have not coveted anyone’s silver or gold or clothing. You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive." That shows full time or part time ministry is not an excuse. Nobody can claim to have labored like Paul.
Having said that, the truth on tithing cannot be broken.
When it comes to establishing biblical truths, you need compare scriptures with scriptures. "At the mouth of two or more witnesses, the truth shall be established." Witnesses, take note! But if there are no New Testament witnesses, I ask myself, did Jesus say something on the subject? Jesus is not a witness. He is the Word. He is the Truth. Even if He says it only "ONCE", it STANDS for me! So, I go searching, what did Jesus say on this issue. Why? Because several years ago, I also had problems on understanding why we need to tithe ... UNTIL Jesus' words settled it for me. I don't argue with Jesus. He is Truth, personified.
Now read Jesus talk about tithing.
    Jesus said:
"Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter (upholding justice & love) without leaving the former undone (giving of tenths)." Luke 11:42. (NIV).
"But woe to you Pharisees! You give a tenth of mint, rue, and every kind of herb, and you bypass justice and love for God. These things (upholding justice & love) you should have done without neglecting the others (giving of tenths)." Luke 11:42 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB).
"But woe unto you, Pharisees! for ye tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love of God: these (upholding justice & love) ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other (giving of tenths) undone."
When I read that, I did not need any pastor to convince me about tithing. Jesus says not to leave it UNDONE. In other words, we have to do it, but the big picture for Jesus is: Upholding justice, fairness, uprightness and love.
Let's stop the controversy. Tithing is CORRECT.

I like your humble analysis. But don't forget that our lord Jesus wasn't referring to Christians rather the Judaism people. Bear in mind that Jesus, his apostles and the early Christians neither received nor played tithe. So when and where did these modern day clergies imported tithe doctrine from. I need ans pls!

You will get more out of life by building yourself spiritually away from mainstream religions or religion altogether, you can do things like go to yoga, learn about nature, do sports, learn sciences, make powerful music with friends, learn to build things etc, these are just examples of some of the things I replaced religion with and im sure they will make you understand God more and bring you closer.

TITHING & THE TRAP OF MISUSE/MISUNDERSTANDING:
About tithing, I personally Ignored commenting about it until when Someone who understands scriptures speaks about it. I'm glad today someone(Apostle Suleman) who is versatile in scriptures stepped up.
Many who were engaging in arguments did not envisage the TRAP. Anything about understanding scriptures need the help of the Holy Spirit otherwise you can argue all you want and it will not make sense to a naturally minded person. Some men of God joined the argument by arguing soft drinks and hard drinks issues that this guy brought up. The Bible says no arguments but gently explain your believe if you can otherwise let it go; don't go there.
    DO THE RIGHT THING:
The Misuse of Tithing by a few or more has brought this argument. Do not build the so called "Heavenly Standard" schools for your miniseries that poor members of your Church obviously do not qualify to attend. Your are simply arming the enemy.
Don't hold conventions that turn people off at the gate for mistakenly forgetting their so called Entry Ticket at home after driving miles to attend.
Hmm, I know what you are thinking; orderliness.
How was Jesus able to handle those who took off the Roof where he was preaching in to bring in a sick man?
My point is watch what you do because the people are watching you.
    Helpful Scriptures:
2 Timothy 2:23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes. 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; 2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.
    Philippians 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

This is just a click bait and a ridiculous attempt to attract followership. First, does the man in this video look or speak angry to you? If this is anger, then you need to have your social construct checked. Second, there's no mention of Freeze neither is there evidence to prove Freeze asked that tithes be used to buy alcohol. So stop stoking the fire of discord with falsehood. Your followers expect more from you Sahara...

    Deuteronomy 14:22-29New International Version (NIV)

Tithing is scriptural. Most of you complaining here don't even pay tithe. No body compels you to pay tithe. If you don't believe in it leave it but, allow those that believe in it to exercise their faith. More so, don't expect ministers of the gospel to publicly tell you the number of people they helped, sponsored or currently helping. Those of you calling the MoG a liar don't know which of the videos he responded to and unfortunately SR failed to give the full message. Daddy Freeze cannot tell me how to use my money and I don't have confidence in the veracity of his messages.

I am saddened that the church can be under so much venom and hate. If Christ came to affirm the laws of Moses which was the basis of Judian religious believe he caterorically stated that he had come not to banish the LAW . MATHEW CHAPTER 5 VERSES 17 --'19.THE NEW DISPENSATION OFFERS SALVATION FREE BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB . CHRISTENIZM HAD NO WRITTEN LAW ON HOW IT SHOULD DONE.IT IS LEFT TO YOU TO DECIDE HOW YOU WANT TO WORSHIP GOD. NO ONE IS COMPELLED TO GO TO CHURCH OR ANY DENOMINATION. WE KNOW THAT THE TITHE OF MEMBERS AND THEIR OFFERING IS A FRACTION OF WHAT IS NEEDED. THEREFORE 10% IS NOT ONLY MONEY BUT SERVICE TO HUMANITY. YOU PROBABLY SPEND MORE ON OTHERS THAN YOU SPEND ON YOURSELF. THE RECORD OF THE EXPENDITURE OF RCCG IS AN OPEN DOCUMENT. CHURCHES THAT RCCG MANGES ARE NOT CHEAP TO MAINTAIN AND THEIR TITHES AND OFFERINGS ARE NOT ENOUGH TO MANAGE THEM. THERFORE THE CHURCH IS ALWAYS PREOCCUPIED WITH FUND RAISING. THE SOCIAL RELEVANCE OF OUR CHURCH IS NOT TO BE TRIFLED WITH. IF WE CLOSE DOWN ALL THE CHURCHES, YOU WILL BE SURPRISED THAT RESTRAINED INDIVIDUALS WE HELP WILL BE AN UNPLEASANT SOCIAL DELINE AND THE EFFECT PALPABLE
