Keep this in mind Chugga used to play competitively and in certain situations like the Tentacruel situation to just have it out to do stuff until it's defeated so this way you can get a free switch and not have to worry about getting hit by a status move or confusion. PS: If he had switched then it would've been a similar fight between Brandon (frontier guy) and Paul. Also that would have been a dick move to switch out when your pokemon is in red health near the end of the battle just so you can say you didn't lose a single pokemon.

While yes Chugga had the level advantage in the long run it doesn't matter because I have seen a level 1 Rattatta and a level 1 Magikarp sweep entire teams before. Also if you have a great strategy and a bit of luck on your side the level differential won't mean anything. Makes sense or is there anything you would like for me to clarify :)

I half-expected Chuggaa to freak out a little when Yoshiller sent out Milotic. Chuggaa mnetioned in his Platinum LP that he fished every square in the Hoenn ocean looking for a Feebas and never got one, because he wanted to use a Milotic in his Emerald LP.
@Miror B GOD Yep, in Platinum. It's far easier to get in the Sinnoh games due to Feebas being restricted to a specific lake in a specific area, many less water tiles to search.
This is why I like how local battles can have the Flat Battle setting: even if you're overleveled, you get knocked down to 50. It wouldn't have improved Yoshiller's team in this case, but maybe it wouldn't have been such a steamroll.

there were a couple of moments when you could have ko'd the tentacruel but you chose a low powered move when it had barrier up. with it being paralysed both absol and breloom could have probably outsped and killed it with slash/mega drain. otherwise a valiant battle up against a severe level disadvantage
Not mega drain though, because Tentacruel often have the ability liquid ooze, making absorbing moves damage the attacker. Unless, of course, Breloom had the ability poison heal, in which case liquid ooze would have actually healed it...
