Hi. Thanks for watching. Yes, all mesh network router like this can work with 2 nodes only and the brands selling 2 nodes if the room is not bigger or you 2 floor on your house. But if you have bigger and more than 2 rooms in house, the wifi signal won't penetrate to your desired location/room. So I suggest 3 nodes for the best and optimum performance.
It's an absolute need. Get the TP-Link Deco. It's much greater for you. It can handle up to 10-50Gbps. Our connection here in the Philippines aren't close with that number and this one is a perfect answer to that since we only have 35Mbps plan.
You should connect to the main node. Just plug it in and put it first near the main node. It will pulse green at first, then when the main node identify the 3rd node, it will blink green fast then it will go steady. That means it's already paired.
No. It needs one mesh router to be connected to the modem. If you buy a 3 pack and need more than 2 nodes, you can buy more because it can support more than 2 nodes.
Hi. I'm sorry i didn't understand your question. But if you're asking if you can connect this to ANY modem, yes you can. It's advisable to use this in some fiber or DSL connections and not on prepaid sim powered modems.
I have a problem with the tenda MW3, our internet speed is up to 100mbps but when I connect to our mesh it's only capped at 10mbps. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks in advance. :)
If there's anything else that's connected outside the mesh router like security camera, smart appliances etc, then you can't get the maximum speed connection to it. However, if there's nothing connected to it and still having that 10mbps speed, check your LAN cable if it's connected to the port that can carry the maximum speed. If still have that issue, i suggest you get assistance from Tenda customer service if you bought it through LazMall. Do note, that the speed may depend in terms of the number of the devices connected outside the mesh router and if there's an issue on your IP.
Hi. Thank you for watching. On your question, you can't buy 1 node if you're starting to extend a WiFi range in your area. Typically, you will buy this Mesh Routers in a 2 pack or 3 pack because the first node will be put and stayed in the area where your modem is located. So if you really want to use a mesh router, then you'll really need to buy the 2 pack.
Thanks for the video. My primary node is still connected via Lan cable to my router. When I remove the Lan cable it will not work independently and the light goes red which then also interferes with the secondary node. Secondary node light also goes red. How can I get the primary node to work without connected to my router via Lan cable? Thanks.
Hi. On your question, there's NO way to work the primary node wirelessly. The primary node WILL ALWAYS be connected and wired to your router because that's your bridge for other two nodes to transfer and move them anywhere on your home.
You mentioned that the mw3 can only accommodate a max connection of 100 Mbps, is that true? Where did you find this information from? My converge plan is 200 Mbps, so it won't work with this mesh router?
Hi. Thank you for your comment. Yes, I mentioned in my video that it only accommodate a Max connection of 100Mbps because of its LAN port. As you can also see that I only maxxed out at near 100mbps even though our plan at that time is 200Mbps. I will give a excerpt from Gadget 360 that has the same mesh router as mine; "Unfortunately, both Ethernet ports max out at 100Mbps, which makes the Nova MW3 a non-starter if you have an Internet connection that's faster than 100Mbps." Now, I don't know if there's a newer version of MW3 that upgrades the maximum speed of it to higher than 100Mbps like mine. Because there's now an AC1200 in the name of some products online. If the mesh router was provided to you by the ISP, then I'm pretty they know it and they gave you the upgraded one (if ever) Here's the review link from Gadget 360: www.gadgets360.com/laptops/reviews/tenda-nova-mw3-review-mesh-wi-fi-router-price-in-india-2000180

hi im just wondering, where should i connect the 3rd node? can i connect it to node 2? just in case the node 3 is not on the primary node's wifi range?
Hi. I didn't demonstrated the 3rd node because the setup will be the same as the 2nd node on 5:12. The 2nd and 3rd node will be called the "secondary nodes" For the first setup on 3rd node, you'll need to pair it near the primary node. Hi. Thank you for watching. On your first question, the connection for this mesh router is dual band style. meaning in one access point, it will automatically switch to whatever frequency is much better for more seamless connection (the wifi name has the 2.4G/5G badge in it). compared to other Routers that 2.4GHz and 5GHz will have separate wifi access point and name. Most of the time, it's always at 5GHz because my phone has 2.4 and 5GHz band. But I tried to connect this to my old iPhone 4 with only 2.4GHz and its perfectly fine. On your second question, All nodes are compatible with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, so the result for the 2nd and 3rd node will be consistent to each other.
