When she said “I made it” during Madea’s Big Happy Family Play, it was the first time I ever cried during a Tyler Perry play. She’s right, as a young girl, all I felt about death was fear but she instilled a different point of view of Heaven for me in that movie.

She may have the anointing but it's obvious she doesn't want it. I was with her until I heard her say, "I just do that Holy Stuff...." Wow, SMH
The first time I seen Chandra live was in Madea’s Big Happy Family. I was about 10 or 11, maybe 12. When she sang after she crossed over in the play, my entire section was crying. I was crying. But recently, my grandmother passed away in 2021 and we found a letter that she basically wrote for whenever she passes away and it literally said “don’t cry for me, don’t she’d a tear” and that song that Chandra sang as Shirley in that play immediately popped into my mind and I just broke down. My grandmother was actually at that play with me. But that song, and knowing that my grandmother really did make it there helped me process everything way better than I thought I would. I actually haven’t watched that play since my grandmother passed but I think I will this weekend. 💜

My mother passed in 2004, and she was everything to me. Chandra helped me to get a handle on my grief when I was in the audience, and she started singing, "I made it". Chandra, if you see this, I adore you. God bless you.

right? 3 good shows I thought of, well, 4, hamilton (she could be either a good Eliza or Mariah Reynolds,) Chicago, Color Purple, Once On This Island should it open again, and one more, Little Mermaid, (as Ursula,) heck, any disney to broadway adaptation. should princess and the frog get a musical adaptation, she’d be a great Tiana.

I’m trying to think of others she’d be great at. heck, I’d want terrell to be in a musical. if they revived Annie, but they did a little of both, the original musical, and the 82 movie, I can see her in 2 roles. Ms. Hannigan, although her personality ain’t that way, but just her and terrell as Mr. Warbucks with sign would be funny, but also as the Mrs would be good, just to hear her in things like I think I’m gonna like it here, or NYC would be the business.
@@itsmallory3416 now IDK if they’d go along with it, but something like a hybrid musical/concert on broadway would be good, I was thinking like a show and concert focusing on like the gospel greats of all time, so more like 60’s and 70’s to about early 2k, she’s got plenty of options there. like, maybe playing Lady Tremaine Hawkins for Walter Hawkins and crew, maybe one of the clark sisters, with one of terrell’s younger guests being Kierra and Dorinda’s Daughter, cause her daughter can go off. like, she’s got the options if that could be a show.

To hear her say she has problems being told “you’re too soulful” speaks to me. People don’t sing anymore with soul especially at my young age of 22, so this just inspired me even more. If breaks your heart hearing someone tell you that when that’s all you got.

While Terrell is at it, he needs to get Cheryl Pepsii Riley, Cassi Davis, Tamar Davis, Stephanie Ferrett, Terrell Carter, Maurice Lauchner, Patrice Lovely (Mattie/Ma), Palmer Williams Jr., Paris Bennett, and both sisters D’Atra Hicks and her sister Taral Hicks. This is just to name a few. We need a Tyler Perry play cast reunion episodes of all the SANGERS. If y’all got anymore, put them on too. 😩😩😭😭😂😂🥹🥹👏🏾👏🏾❤️❤️

Thanks to my father who introduced me to the S.O.S Band I knew our good auntie was in the group. My older sister and I would rewind & watch her performance in Class Reunion. I mimicked that part every night when I should’ve been asleep. Her performance in every play is my favorite. Her voice is SMOOTH & GOLDEN. It brings me so much peace to hear that soulful voice that can scat, hold a note & much more. I love her dearly. Thank you so much Terrell for this episode ❤️.
