I have quilts that my great grandmother made. Quilts are warm and last a long time if taken care of. I bet all the stuff is made by the Amish. It takes a long time to make a quilt.
They don't have TV so that helps.😅

We have Amish here in Indiana. Amish made our kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Very high quality and cheaper than Lowes 👍. My grandparents gave me an Amish made wedding ring quilt for our wedding but we don't use it as it is too small for our bed. Great videos will and dawn. Loved the train ride and the night in the caboose. 😎

You guys should work your way to the west side of the state. This weekend in butler pa is the bantam jeep festival where the jeep was originally built. Also a lot of stuff to see in Pittsburgh. Hope to see videos from my neck of the woods soon!

Where I read the Amish store
If you go back. I highly recommend the Best Western of Intercourse. Great hotel and there is a Dutch restaurant attached.
My Daddy was originally from PA and he loved Scrapple but could never find it here in NY. When he’d bring some scrapple back from PA with him he said he couldn’t cook it the same way that they do in PA.

I was surprised you were in Lancaster Co. This is where I live and grew up. Always seeing things that are so familiar to me but new to someone else is always fun. In fact, we only live about 3 miles from the pizza place you visited

I guess no one ever told you that the Amish are not allowed to be photographed. It is against their religious beliefs to have their picture taken. This is my home state and I love it and Lancaster is one of the most beautiful parts of it for sure. I sure hope you make your way over closer to where I live Southwest Pennsylvania and you need to check out Kennywood park while you're here.
Have only visited the Amish country in Ohio , but it was amazing seeing the farms and stores that they have. The dolls their children play have no faces on them, this was very interesting to read about when doing some research on their lives. Loved your adventure to the Amish Country !
Amish Country is so peaceful and beautiful, love seeing Amish buggies and horses, the quilts were beautiful too
There was a store in intercourse called zimmermens. There a phone booth on the porch. Harrison ford used that in the movie witness. On stumptown road is country roadside stand store alot of homemade amish goods. Gotta try the homemade rootbeer and a ride in a buggy at abes buggy rides

Julius Sturgis pretzels in Litiz still does tours, and I highly recommend it. They’ve been baking pretzels since 1861, and were the first commercial pretzel bakery in the US.

The area from Lancaster to Hanover and Gettysburg is called the snack belt. There is Snyder's, Sturgis, Utz, Martins, Wege (pretzels and chips places), York Peppermint Patty, Hershey, Tastykake and Mars.
What a great trip through this beautiful Amish country!! I have added this toad trip to my must do list!! Plus great furniture. A barn door table wood be beautiful In My house! My kids would probably want to grab different and unique flavors never tasted before at the synders factory store. Excellent prices indeed!! Drive safe!!

Always amazing videos! We will be in Lancaster this coming week taking our family and grandchildren to see David at Sight and Sound, then to Hershey Park. We have lots of furniture made by the Amish. We are actually picking up four more chairs from King Acres, while there visiting. We had them make us a table about five years ago and it seats 20 and our family is growing so they made us four more chairs to match our table and hutch ☺️

A few times a year I visit Berlin, Ohio which is very similar to here. We also have visited Shipshewana Indiana which has a wonderful Amish community as well. One day I hope to make it to Pennsylvania and enjoy this area, just something calming about being in the area. Thanks for sharing

I grew up in Amish country in ohio. My grandpa was Amish. Your video in part was like going through my home town/ area.
My hometown has the worlds largest cuckoo clock too!
And here we have shrearers chips and they have an outlet store up here too. So good. And cheap lol

The Amish does decent work on furniture but it’s not worth double or triple what a quality craftsman would charge for the same product. Everything I’ve seen Amish is stupid high I don’t know if the Amish is that expensive or retailers gouging because of it being Amish. Honestly I’ve tried some food products like the Butter and meats and didn’t find them as good as we had on our farm.
When you go to Amish communities that aren't also tourist destinations, the prices are much cheaper.
@@littlesthobo182 I mean even here in West Virginia the Amish products are extremely high and decent quality but not enough to warrant the extreme prices. I really admire theAmish people and their way of life I am sure it’s mostly retailers that make the highest profits.

I really enjoyed seeing all of the towns surrounding Lancaster. We have taken the back roads and have enjoyed the countryside and little towns. I enjoyed scrapple growing up in the Washington DC area. Those were some good deals on pretzels! Hope their expirations dates aren't about to expire. That was a nice tour of Amish country.
