Pvz 2 with its buyable plants not even the gem plants some straight up cost money pvz 3 is just garbage in general so much they abandoned it and went back to pvz 2. Garden warfare series with its lootboxes for new subclasses and consumable items. Well except for the latest one. Pvz hero’s well card packs were already considered to be just irl lootboxes by some. There has definitely been an increase in focus on monetization and a decrease in focus on actually making good games. I mean I can get the monetization in the free to plays but garden warfare shouldn’t be treated the same. The subclasses should of been unlocked with player achievements not randomly from lootboxes. Likewise the consumable plants and zombies should of been bought on their own no lootboxes.
The plot is hilarious, and the game actually feels fun to play. Classic PVZ devs :D
