😭❤️ I never understood how deep and powerful his words were until I got older. I was about 11yrs old when him, haida, and prophet came to south dakota. I appreciate, how real his words are. It even made me cry, expierencing racism on my own land. Bc even though ppl say it has changed. It hasn’t, 2018 still has the immense racism. Damn shame!
I'm Caucasian, born Dutch, living in France, I was there on July 15, 1978 age 12, and ever since never could forget about you and what 'I' did to you ... Thank you for your songs and movies , we hear not enough about the different Nations here in Europe : a shame
We we here long before and We will be here long after. We are "the ppl" pass on your traditions and Language. Be safe my Brother n Sisters. #HumanBeingsMatter #OneNation #DINEnation
times are changing and peaple are forgetting bout the struggle that our native ppl went through and still are..this song reminds me of that. i live a life on the rez not many ppl understand they all think we drink and get money from casinos...most ppl dont know are just dont care about our stuggle...litefoot is lettin ppl know...props to him
my sons and I seen litefoot several times, even though he is who he is ,litefoot is a humble person. I'm middle aged but I still like the message that this young brother has to say. Hey!from The Umatilla Reservation.
Bumping in 2021, just like my parents did . Also watched one of your concerts in San Diego for the native youth council. You seem pretty awesome and was a great inspiration to hold onto. 🤙🏼
Yea fr why do all wypipo claim the Cherokee tribe?, I'm C&A an Seminole, honestly we don't even acknowledge Cherokees as a real tribe anymore, (no offense)
LF is the best voice for our people in many ways! His message is to have a goal! And be true to yourself. His work in the reach the rez tour's reached out all over NDN country!
Reading the comment section I see nothing but love from everybody posting. This tune is still 🔥🔥 in 2017 and it's message rings true. Much respect to the native Indians of America.
I am part Cherokee, Blackfoot and Navajo Indian Tribes by both side of my mom and dad. I have a grand grandparents r full blood Indian on each tribes and yes this is our land! God Bless Them....
✊👊 back in the day 1996 that's when this f****** album came out up to this day I still bump this m************ up in ste 723 all the way from New Mexico 505 native pride
I went to 5 concerts of his he's a nice guy me and my cousin waited by his table while my grandma and uncle were in line waiting for a picture and autograph we talked for a while my grandma was a huge fan of litefoot she had all his movies all his albums sadly she passed away 2 weeks ago do to covid
I grew up listening to litefoot since the 90's in Eastern Nova Scotia! My uncle purchased me this album as a gift straight from a record shop in C.A.! I believe met litefoot one time as young boy in Restigouche Indian reserve during a powwow and he was in a regalia similar of not the same regalia used on the movie Indian in the cubbord! Amazing memory 🧡!
He's a super nice guy. I was in Cherokee, N.C. at the 4th of July Pow Wow when I met him, his gorgeous wife, mother & his little boy. They were so refreshing & my kids were 12 & 13 at the time so they were in awe of him having seen the movie & read the book a 3 yrs earlier. I spent everyday visiting for a few minutes & they even invited us for lunch. He's also a very accomplished Grass Dancer with stunning red regalia. It was so cute when he & his 6 y/o son with matching regalia both danced during an Inter-tribal. Much respect !
DAMN I LOVE this song. As a Canadian, it sickens me what they did, what the QUEEN DID, to all the Canadian native women and children. There are sick people that run this planet. YOU are the protectors of earth. This should have NEVER HAPPENED!!! That's why the world is out of balance today.
My great grandmother was a full native american blackfoot to be exact her name was Cora. My great grandfather name was Herbert and he was black. My grandfather was black and native american his name was Roland. Cora was Rolands mother. They all have passed. I never meet my great grandmother but my mother showed me old photos of her she was beautiful. My mom said she loved watching wrestling lol. I wish I could have met my great grandmothers native american heritage is something I need to know as well it is in my bloodline.
I've always been so proud of my Cherokee heritage. I'm mostly Dutch on my father's side but I have a small percentage of Native American on my mother's side.
holy ever old school song, i remember when LiteFoot came to my Rez, Wiky (Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve) a long time ago, :) Glad to hear your still doing your thing LiteFoot! :) One Love
The original writer of this song was a Mexican ALT song called One Little Indian 1992 from the album The Lost Civilization Native Americans need to understand that we Mexicans are told from the day we are able to walk, that we are Indigenous even our birth certificates have back ground images of Indigenous warriors and artifacts but yes I love the song, and much love to my Native brother hood.
It's y'all that need to understand that. Y'all get more visibility than we do. They always wanna act like we don't exist. And silence us. We shall remain✊🏼
I LOVE this guy! One of the only Native American rappers I know of out there, still! I think it's awesome and hope he keeps doing it! I love people of color excelling in things like this! :)
This was the first track I heard from the Indian in the Cupboard. I thought he was a revolutionary rapper. Then, I heard the rest of his music and was greatly disappointed. This is still one of my favorite songs. If Litefoot made more tracks like this, he would be my favorite rapper.
It's amazing that this is the Little Bear. I was registered with the people when I was 12 years old. My given name by my people in my language is Usdi Yonah. It means "Little Bear". Idigenous pride forever. Let the Red flow!
I'm Chippoa apache, all Hispanics, mexican, Latinos, etc. we are all natives to this land. white people put the border. we're the original Americans. this is our land.
@Tall Jakee I think the native american population should be rewarded a-lot of benefit's due to the endless peace treaties broken and land stolen. Once again the population of the native americans is irrelevant due to it being tiny in the first place from a genocide. Cruel world we live in where you can take out an entire population move in your people then argue that you are more deserving of the land due to replacing the originals.
dude i had no idea that this guy is a dope ass rapper, i pulled out my old 95/96 vhs of Indian in the cupboard yesterday for my son and daughter to watch, we watched it and i forgot i loved the guy as an actor..looked for his name in the credits, got on here today to look it up and bam!!!!! dope ass hell..thanx for the upload...i know its been here a while..lol
Comment sections are always the best. Half defending how much and how they are native and the half hating all whites. Most of us are mixed now, very rarely to have pure blood. Just enjoy and love the Native culture and quit spreading so much hate. I remember meeting Litefoot in Alturas back in the 90s, he was touring with Haida. Great experience and still love his music.
This is dope as fuck not gonna lie I came across this and thought it would be sum corny but this slaps. Cool he hooked up with kid frost to respect from Tucson AZ 520
I remember when I had ab account on TIs website. On the website you could talk to fans... Gut'y imitated Litefoot and said he'd give me a record deal... Good Times 😂 In brief, this is how I got into Litefoot. Love his music. Who is the best artists to check out when it comes to Native American artists? I fucking love Native American flute music. Fuck beautiful ❤️
Weird that this track is not on Spotify. Almost 25 years later and these lyrics are still relevant as if they were written today.
It’s not even on Apple Music either.
Or on Amazon music. ☻️👎
Not on steaming platforms cause there’s too much truth spoken..
Not even on iTunes too
Man, Google removed it from my TH-cam playlists.
Proof that when it comes to fire on the mic, skin color doesn't matter.
Skins just a color right... Then kill our kind ... Your heart bear this with us welcome by your thoughts not color
This is good old school hip hop that has survived the test of time.
Bumping 2023
