I considered that, however I wanted to minimize how much ink of different colors would get unintentionally transferred to the pads.

Love these cards! I have a question - what is the difference between the Pawsitively Saturated inks and the regular dye ink from SSS? I would love to see a video on what colors to start with, I'm confused about all the different gradients available.

Hi Beth! The formulation of the ink is different. The original Simon inks are waterproof once dry and have a more traditional pad. The Pawsitively Saturated inks (the ones I used in this video) are not waterproof (they react to moisture or water) and they have a squishy foam pad. Both inks do dry back a bit and smooth out, however I feel like the original inks dry back and smooth out the most.
