@Leafy Captain That’s not why they died, the aliens in war of the worlds didn’t have an immune system and so when they feasted on people’s blood/bodies, they were attacked by the bacteria, which they couldn’t fight off. The bacteria eventually weakened the aliens to the point where their shields no longer worked and that why they were able to take down the tripod. That’s also why you see in the clip before there’s a tripod crashed into a building, that tripod didn’t get taken down by the soldiers, it was taken down by bacteria.
