All Agni and even Brahmos missiles travel at hypersonic speeds. The key in low orbit flight is not the flight itself, but the reaction time one gets after the warhead is released. For example a low flying satellite like vehicle can drop a warhead from less than 100 KM in space. This warhead traveling at hypersonic speed can hit the target in less than a minute giving practically no time for anti missile systems to operate. In contrast a single target ICBM gives upwards of 10 minutes to mount a response
