That was simply a glorious video - and it expressed all of the best of what fishing should be - including the frustration, the comradery, and not least the benevolence that should exist between fishermen worldwide. This reminds me of the work of Leigh Perkins as he was building up Orvis, and the video of Yvon Chouinard in Valsesiana. What makes a good narrative isn't just the images or the instruction, but the emotional response from the creator - that came through strong, and it was a privilege to watch. Well done all.
Epic is a word that gets tossed around far too casually today but that was truly epic. Congrats. I have long wanted to try my hand at them after seeing Larry Dahlberg’s TV show decades ago. I remember he was tossing a giant lure that was basically a string of wooden beads, each one about the size of a small walnut. I think the show was “The Hunt for Big Fish”. Sadly, that trip just wasn’t meant to be for me. Again, congrats on realizing the dream.
Amazing Video!!! I think I fished with Lucas in Bolivia. He has some really cool tattoos, one of a Dorado. He is one of the fishiest guides in the world and is fanatical about dorado fishing.
Hey guys! I listened to the podcast before watching the video, and I had some images in my mind of the mighty Dorado. Wow. Thanks for posting, the images were amazing, (full on props to Brig) and I plan for the future! Thanks, Utah. Maybe I'll save up for 'that durned TFO AX2-X 10weight after all!' Lol.
yes guys, amazing. I''m from brazil and can say that this region has a lot to be explored. Your edition is incredible, the place, the sound. I can predict a lot of sucess for more videos like this in wild countries. May I sugest a trip to Brazilian Pantanal and Amazonia, I bet it will a tought challenge and an amazing experience. Cheers.
Cool video! I'm going with Set Fly Fishing in early March ( 2023 ) with a friend. We'll start at La Alondra Lodge and fish Ibera Marsh for four days and then head over to Itati Lodge to fish the Upper Parana for another 4 days. My friend has done this before and fished with the guide in your video. Should be fun...
Excellent video, first time seeing you channel!!!! I am from Argentina, on trolling gear you can get 18kg Dorados o 50kg Surubim. Clearly you were the in winter or autum, because in Summer impossible to be with so much clothes!!!
Dorado are on my bucket list. They look like a salmonid but I am guessing they are more like a tetra on steroids. Beautiful fish, thank you for the video!
13:50 and youtube strikes again! (Video muted...) Also 700,000 CFS is unimaginable. Standing on the banks of the provo at its tiny creek sized 380cfs and we think thats full...or even "The Mighty Colorado" and its 9260 max. So cool.
Some days I could really go for some coca leaves. National Geographic did a good special on How Coca Leaves Become Cocaine, tis a good watch! Every culture has a leaf, or berry, or bean...some stimulant of some kind. Every single one.
Probably my favorite video of yours--- I loved it! I never got to fish it, but I saw the Rio Parana every day for about three months when I was serving in Granadero Baigorria. Good things in Argentina this year. Big Dorado and a world cup victory 🤜🤛👍
What year were you in Baigorria? I was there in ‘93 and looked at that river every day as well wishing I could throw a fly at the surubi or dorados. Loved that place and Reconquista as well
@@JustinWatterson-mb1rf Yeah, I actually heard quite a bit about you from the mission back in the day. I can't remember which companion or mission friend knew you but I was told more than once that I would love Elder Watterson cause he loved to fish too. You and your brother owned one of the local guide services or so I was told. I also served in Reconquista---that was my second area. Baigorria was my third.
What is the name of this lodge? I will be back in Argentina next late April to hunt Red Stag in Patagonia. I want to set up a hunt for Golden Dorado either before or right after my stag hunt. Can you provide a link to their website?
Tie some Muskie flies. I have had right shoulder surgery and water loading on your back cast helps to get some distance and saves the shoulder. Bigger flies you would need to beef up the rod weight..
that was not very good fishing for that place. Usually you can catch dozens of them (the small ones), with a shot at a big one like that. The river looked too high, i dont know what month they went there, but you can get better fishing out of that river at that place. I know they were trophy hunting with the big flys, and is part of why they didnt catch as many fish, but that river can fish much better.

Very well put. Thank you! Huge props to Brigham who was tasked to bring the story to life.
I have nothing I can add to such a well worded description of your Video and Story. 👍
LA ESPECIE DEL MINUTO 16:12 NO ES FALSO DORADO, ES UN SALMÓN DE RÍO O "PIRAPITÁ", MUY LINDO VIDEO! FELICITACIONES! SALUDOS DESDE ARGENTINA!!👍😎💥🎯💣💖👈
I could watch an episode of this kind of thing every week.
WOW, WOZER!! Congrats Cheech. That was amazing. Thanks for letting us have a front row seat.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Alto Parana It´s the place where the dreams come true!!!!
Crazy fish and a great story...

Well done fulfilling your dream in style. Great filming and narrative made it for me.
This is like the coolest fly fish food video I’ve watched to date , so awesome.
That was a damn fine Vidya boys. Amazing fish and so cool to see it eat the big fly too
Love that vid brother. Glad y’all made that happen. Shout to Luka, the leaf flows over haha

gorgeous fish!
They are!
this looks like a blast!!!!!
Congratulations. The video was good, too. I like how you dealt with the HUNT, warts and all. Very real.
Nice job Cheech. Kick ass 🐟💯
Congrats!! What a fish!!
Great Work!!
Excellent! 👍🏻
Que lindo pescado, che!!! Que ganas de ir por Itati que me dieron
So sweet! congrats!
Well done!
I’m sensing a tying tutorial coming on that fly soon….
what weight on the lines did you fish with? just a nerdie question :)
.....and I get frustraded with 2000 cfs...how about 700,000...gonna need a bigger perdigon!
are u guys still in argentina?
I think a tying video for that dorado fly is in order...... Please and thank you.

Can you provide a link to their website?
We used to fish dorado and surubí with live mojarrita ( a little local fish)
why are the Dorado dangerous to hold?
They have teeth just like a piranha and could bite your finger clean off
Dorado is the Paraná's tiger.
Dude!👊🏽👊🏽👊🏽
Anyone shoot any articulated streamers for Dorado?
14:50 would have had heart racing if i was there.
Congratulations,
Strippers are headhunters as well . Unlike bluefish who love biting the tail off their prey.
Brilliant
SICK!
Very cool

I just designed lighter flies so they can be thrown with an 8
Brazil?
The REAL owner of that boat was around the corner. He was like hey I just need to flag someone down before he does
Why flies?
