I started learning sketching and watercolor during pandemic. I'm a fan of Yongchen's charcol drawing and watercolor painting TH-cam channel. Figure drawing is what I think the most challenging work in sketching and I'd like to see more figure drawing videos!

Love this! I love watercolour painting and need to develop my drawing skills. Things that I learned from this video - using shapes to help define and draw the contour of the pear, how to find the center line, using the angle of the subject to help define the shadow and finally how to define tonal values. I would have considered the yellow colour to be white. Would love to see more short drawing tutorials that can be used for watercolour painting (like the Valentine’s Day rose video). Hoping this qualifies for the Paul Rubens watercolour set giveaway! ❤️

Hello! Thank you for the Valentine giveaway! I’m excited to subscribe to another of your channels!
The most important thing I learned watching this is that when you first roughly draw shape and shadow of the object it doesn’t have to be perfect. You can correct as you go. I also learned that there are three things to keep in mind: 1.Look for center line which doesn’t mean a straight line, it’s the center of the shape of the object (follow the natural midline) 2. look for complex shape. Which means two or more shapes within the object combined together. To create an object. 3. Angle and measurement of object in order to correct your initial drawing to keep perspective of object you are drawing. As you’re drawing you can draw/separate light and shadow side. Also don’t be afraid to shade in light side of object, there is still darkness in it. You can add and take away shade in smaller and smaller details as you finish drawing.
