Out of all the rivalries video game characters have, Sonic and Shadow's is easily my favorite. Why? Two characters who exist at polar opposites of the spectrum, that's why. Also, Shadow, to me, is the only "doppelganger" character who is much more than a dark clone of Sonic spawned from a magical mirror (no offense, Dark Link). Shadow actually has an interesting and compelling back story (until Sega fucked up with 2005's Shadow the Hedgehog). David Humphrey is easily the best voice actor for the ultimate lifeform, as well as the only one who could give him personality. Recently, Sonic and Shadow's rivalry has lost its depth after the shit stain that was sonic boom. But I can always look back at Sonic Adventure 2 if I wanna see a great rivalry between the blue blur and the ultimate lifeform. :)

Was playing Sonic X Shadow Generations, and proceeded to race around the rival battle track for 20 minutes before realizing that Shadow got stuck on one part of the track and was just running into a wall over and over again.
