It strikes me that Umbro's R&D budget is probably tiny and that is one of the reasons why we continue to see the soleplate year after year. They really should be calling this an HG boot given how short the studs are and they do really need to add more stability to the bottom of the midfoot. Also, bless you for wearing a Derby kit!
Yeah I imagine developing a new soleplate is very costly, although just a modification to this existing one would be fine and it would be a great HG AG option. Derby jersey had to be broken out for this one haha, I assumed you'd approve
@@derbyyank13 they could pause the R&D on new uppers for a generation and put the money into the soleplates. We've seen whole new models released, so there is a bit of money there.

wow, the sole plate is a deal breaker for me. They look like those fake Mercurials that twist like spaghetti. And the glue marks around the upper is also not the best quality either.

Puma 2.3 well worth it. Top quality boots I own a pair. They’re pretty much identical to the previous generation ultra top model.
The Ultra 2.3 is actually excellent so whichever takes your fancy.
