These are fascinating. Some very handsome bodywork on the AEC Reliances and Swifts. 1:58 Leyland National traversing the famous Magic Roundabout at Hemel Hempstead
@@agdenyer Oh well. These are great pictures. I have a single 70s memory of standing at a bus stop outside Barnet Odeon and seeing an LCBS green Routemaster. And once when I was very small my sister getting on a Green Line RMC or RCL.
Some great Hemel views there. Back in the day I used the 318 which was usually worked by RFs before the ghastly Leyland Nats took over. If it wasn't for the 719 I would never have looked up where Wrotham is, let alone how to pronounce it.
It's not only the buses, some of the older cars are interesting too. And the old shop names.
Some great memories. Managed to get quite a lot of RT RML AN blinds from GR over the years.
Brings back memories of 60’s 70’s Brentwood

0:57 That's actually RM4 in service in the 70s!
It was in service for one day and was used for the last day of conductors working out of Garston

Cool bus history • Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
2:10 Ford Anglia following the bus pulling a daring overtaking move on the Morris Minor!

Nice!
I used to get the WGC 324 to school if the weather was bad....... if it was dry we had to walk ....
Great photo collection. Thanks for sharing. But for the sake of accuracy please note that St Albans was the North East area not North West.
Why didn't you press the "Video" button on your camera?
There was no video at the time. The picture were taken on a single lens reflex camera. The only movie at the time would be 8mm cine.
Magnificent! Thank-you!
Yes, the way we were until #TheLabourNazis broke up LT. paving the way for the Thatcher tragedy.
