- This was pure innocence. A group of seven carefree siblings and cousins, enjoying a moment of childhood independence as they walked to get an ice cream from the shops on a hot Australian summer evening. Then - without warning - the unthinkable.
In the blink of an eye, an alleged drunk driver ploughs his out-of-control ute into the group at more than 100 kilometres per hour. Three siblings - Antony Abdallah, 13, Angelina Abdallah, 12, and Sienna Abdallah, 8, and their cousin Veronique Sakr, 11, were killed instantly in Sydney's west, barely 10 minutes from their home.
Determined to right the wrong for their beautiful children, the families share with Michael Usher their powerful fight for justice to ensure no other family endures the same. And, for the first time, the three children who survived the shocking accident tell of their frightening ordeal.

I can really appreciate this father admitting that he drove under the influence back in his 20's. Someone else in his position might be so angry and bitter, seeking revenge against the drink driver but in admitting his own flaws he seemed more able to forgive somehow. These are such good people.
This family is such a great example of honesty and true love in their family. The forgiveness they are showing is so moving and shows such compassion. However to hold on to angry thoughts would just eat them up with hatred and have detrimental impact on their lives.
That poor boy wishing he'd be the one to die instead broke my heart. May God watch over him and give him strength.

I lost my 3 year old 2 years ago. I can feel these parent's pain but I cry the most when I see the siblings of those kids hurting. My son was 5 years old when he lost his sister, his best friend. It hurts me even more to see my son hurting and missing his sister. I am praying for these families!

ONE of our sons was hit by a car, when he was 16 years old. He was not expected to live. We were told he had less than 2 hours to live. I walked into the pit of hell and sat down and prayed and prayed and prayed!! My husband and I also have 6 children and we are Catholic. We had ONE in a hospital bed. This beautiful, loving family lost 4!! Oh, how heart ripping!!! I will never be the same, Our son lived and I passed through hell. But, I am a different me, today. I cannot Express how this story, this journey has touched me. May GOD'S light continue to guide you! You are an amazing family!
My 22 year old son once took a gun and locked himself up in a room for 20 minutes(for a family issue) those 20 minutes changed me forever and they lost 4 kids.....
I had almost the exact same experience. My son was 11, hit by a car, and not expected to make it. Before we left the hospital, they made us talk to a counselor. He told us to expect to have PTSD. At that point we knew our son was going to be fine, so we didn't take him seriously. My husband and I couldn't believe how right he was. Even now, 16 years later, there are things that make us relive it all just like we're watching him almost die again.
Our horror only lasted 8 days, and to think of how it changed our lives completely and forever, even though our son had healed 100%, makes my heart shatter for these families, especially the one who lost 3. May God continue to give them strength.

This is not a news story. It's a documentary about something that happened in the past. Documentaries are always higher quality because they can spend months producing them. News stories have to go on air immediately. That's why they are called news, and not olds. And that's why they hold a lower quality than documentaries and movies.

Look for local support groups in your area. Many are free of charge and can make a wonderful difference in your life. Words cannot express the sadness and devastation i feel for these poor families. In a blink of an eye their life was changed behind all recognition over one man's utter stupidity
I cried so much watching this. The parents are so loving, so wise, so attuned to each other, so close and loving with their family, they are the most wonderful parents any child could have. The children who died would have grown up to be such good people, just as their parents are, it's heart-breaking to know their lives were ended too soon. So sad for all the family.

The security camera video gives me the chills. If they hadn't stopped to talk or if they had stopped for longer, maybe they would still be alive. Just shows how every second matters.
True but they were on the sidewalk no the road more like if the idiot wasn't driving.
Actually, he probably would've hit them anyway. People tend to drive the direction they're looking. That's why people turn towards -and hit- flashing cop cars on the shoulder all the time. I'm sure the sight of 7 kids on the sidewalk made him turn his head to look. But since he was at twice the legal alcohol limit (at least where I live) and going around 100 mph, he didn't have the time or skill to realize he was heading straight for them. That's why he jumped the curb and hit the kids on the sidewalk. But who knows. Maybe he dropped his beer and when he reached to grab it, veered off the road. It was just a theory I had.
If he hadn't been driving at all. They were just enjoy their lives, being kids😪

I literally quoted them saying "they've gone to be with God" - there's my proof. Damn, don't come at me like that. An incredibly strong family. I was taken from my family at aged 7 for extreme. Abuse of every kind. Spent my life win foster care until I aged out. I just wanted to have a family. This would be the one I wish would have picked me.

These families have touched my heart more than they can imagine. I have prayed for them since the day this happened. The forgiveness, the love in these families, that is what is missing in this world. They know how to live life. If only the rest of us would live our lives like this. Not perfection, but striving to be better in God. My prayers continue for these precious families-May God hold each of you close.

I've watched this 3 or more times. What an extraordinary family, and all of the children, here and gone are a testament of the love the families share. Heart wrenching story, but so much strength and faith woven throughout this tragedy. Bless them all!!
On that day I saw one of my best friends and my brothers too not knowing it will be the last day I will ever see him. Antony was one in a million and a great role model for me at kings as I am 2 years younger but I still can’t get the words of my headmaster the next day saying In assembly (Today boys we have lost a king's men one of the greatest and brightest) I took Antony like a best friend, not any best friend but one that will stay with me all my life. He was such a nice kid though that’s the thing I always wanted to catch up more with him when I could at least he is here with me as I have started year seven as he would year nine.

Thank you for sharing that Eddie; reading your comment and what your headmaster at Kings School said was very moving. You seem like a strong young man and wise for your age. I'm 51 yrs of age and can say from personal experience that the saying 'the passing of time is a great healer' is very true, but in moments of reflection and deep thought about lost friends and family, even 30 years later, the emotion returns very easily. Also, from my past experience, I've learned that while it is important to grieve for a period of time when we lose someone, it is also important not to let the grief overwhelm us for an extended period; it does no good to let it overwhelm and I'm sure those we have lost would not wish it upon us. The character traits of strength and wisdom will definitely help you immensely as you go through life. All power to you.

This literally just broke my heart. The amazing love this family has for each other is so amazingly unconditional Its so sad that family's don't have this closeness anymore. Everyone should watch this episode and realize how short life is and how much you're family should matter.
I remember when this first happened I couldn’t stop crying & when I saw the interview with there father I thought how is he holding it together. Now I know it was there believe in our beautiful lord that has got them through. Such a wonderful loving family the lord obviously needed some amazing Angel’s for an important job that would be why he called them home. It’s such an absolute tragedy ! 💕😢💕

I forgot to say the parents had no choice they had to go on they have other children to take care of. I can not imagine losing 3 children. But I understand losing one child. My son died as a newborn of a heart defect. I wanted to hide from the world but I had a 2 yr old and a 6 yr old to take care of. My poor husband barely got a week off after and had to go back to work.

Seeing the pictures of that drunkard 'children' killer says it all! He displays nothing but self entitlement and arrogance, looking so smug w/his big beer belly, obviously his only favorite pastime. Thank you for not giving that killer any attention and focusing primarily on these families and the precious innocent lives lost. So much love here with these families, so much goodness. So much strength and great examples of family commitment and responsibility. Unwavering faith.

My dear Grandmother was ripped from us by a dunk driver in 1968 when I was 17 and she was 68. I think of her often and dream of her as well. I know just a little bit of the pain and sorrow these families are going through and it breaks my heart. Your strength and faith has moved me beyond words.
My heart is breaking into pieces right now. None of us should ever complain again because if a family can lose their whole life in a second then we can learn to be grateful for what we still have. This family is so wholesome and good. They make me wana be better.
