Basically, the Cherubs are trying to get him to not commit suicide, a sin. But it isn't for him to be able to go to Heaven. They KNEW he was a bad person (experimenting on the poor and all that.) This act is for "all the people who were positively affected by his technology *in Heaven.* " The Cherubs even stated "We are going to save that shitty old man no matter if he like it or not."
Rewatch the Cherubs commercial at the start, they are basically "doing a good deed" to advertise and promote their business, similar to how a company doing a charity for clout. And Heaven is pissed mainly because the Cherubs' performance made them look bad. Even the tone of that deer Cherub sound like a snobby receptionist telling them they don't have to come to work tomorrow.
Cletus actually said “We are going to save that shitty old man’s life if he wants it or not!”
The C.H.E.R.U.B.s are a company in heaven that gives each occupant in heaven a chance to save one soul from death. So someone in heaven who was benefited by his technological advances wanted to save him from death, so the C.H.E.R.U.B.s tried to keep him from giving up on life.
That’s their business. And since their actions resulted in the death of a human they are cast out of heaven. I’m guessing that the receptionist-type angel didn’t really like them or something.

@@raymondgolan105 or since he couldn't leave the bed and had no one actually caring about him he couldn't get back to the machine. Or since it was a prototype it broke after the first use
Why did they think Lyle was going to heaven? Well, the cherubs were trying to save his sole, so wouldn’t that mean they’re trying to get him into heaven? Suicide is a damnable sin and the cherubs managed to stop him from committing suicide, so he wouldn’t go to hell for that. They just didn’t consider that maybe he has unforgivable sins in his past with cherub involvement.
Well, they weren't trying to get him into heaven. All they do is keep people alive, at the request of someone in heaven ( in this case, whoever benefited from Lyle's inventions.

So it’s not that crazy for their underlings to feel the same, if you really think about it. Still kind of a shock to see that kind of “on-sight” intensity to the hate, tho.

@@SleepyReptile My issue would come up when people come to an opinion like yours with no attempt at actually learning about Christian beliefs. It's one thing to actually go and find out what someone different from you believes, and another thing to never learn anything about it aside from some pop culture media but then draw conclusions on the subject anyway. (This is something I have seen on this topic and on others in some other reaction channels in the past.)

My guess is, is because humans are supposed to die in their own time, a human dying by an action caused by a Cherub ( or Imp for that matter) has died due to their meddling and outside of when they were supposed to. Extending life is okay, because it gives the mortal a chance to redeem themselves, killing them, even accidentally isn't.

The reason they’d be mad is because they died at the hands of an angel. Regardless of his actions, an angel isn’t supposed to murder a human. Which is why the Cherubs were tossed out. They sinned. He might have been a horrible person doomed to hell, but that doesn’t matter in regards to their actions.

@@andebrown3800 yes, but whether or not you’d go to heaven (especially as an angel who sinned) depends on which version of God you’re drawing from. From what I’ve heard, the Christian God, Catholic God, Jewish God, etc. all have different requirements/results for begging for forgiveness after having committed a sin such as murder.

One thing I didn't get is why the one that survived didn't use the machine to make him young again, it didn't malfunction they just had the lever on the wrong option
probably because loopty died and that all this crazy shit happened within roughly a few hours to a day of his death. Loopty litterally went to IMP right after he died and landed in hell. we don't really know how long it takes for someone to make it to hell after they die but we know it isn't pleasant. while its a plothole it was probably sectioned off by the police or something after his death, plus Lyle isn't exactly in good condition to even leave his home. that is at least what i think why he didn't do it
it could also be that putting it on the opposite setting could be dangerous because they clearly hadn't worked out the bugs or kinks would turn him into a young infant forcing him to restart his life over again or turn into a fetus, dying instantly without a womb or anything like that
