- It was a successful fall season using the level six Odin dry suit. No leaks no issues and I'm extremely happy with the durability. I can't tell you how many times I was out paddling throughout the winter time and had zero issues. I am 6 foot two and approximately 225 pounds. This is the XXL. There was enough room for a base layers. I didn't feel restricted in anyway. Regular maintenance such as applying 505 lubricant to the gaskets and also using zipper lubricant really made everything work really well. If you found this video at all useful I am going to try and put up a care and maintenance video for dry suits. Showing all the steps in order to maintain the integrity of the suit. Thank you for watching, please hit the like button and don't forget to subscribe.
Cool video Mike! Glad to see you got out lots 🤟 Thanks for sharing!
Yes. Definitely fortunate I was allowed to get out and that I have several paddling opportunities locally. Thank you for watching! Cheers😊👍
That is an awesome opening scene! Looks like the Level Six suits are very good.....Take care, Bluefin.
Thank you so much for stopping by Bluefin! So far so good on the suit. Glad you enjoyed the opening scene. Was fun creating it. Cheers 😊👍
That intro was epic! Great vid, love the LJ!
Thanks Andrew! The ultimate LJ’s! Lol.
Great video! I'm looking at L6 Odin or Emperor for kayak fishing in Wisconsin spring and late fall. BTW, what type of paddle is that, never seen one before?!
Good luck fishing! The paddle is a Greenland paddle.
I'd be interested in your thoughts on drysuit maintenance and care. I just purchased a LevelSix Cronos drysuit a couple weeks ago and, although I have only used it once so far, am very impressed with the quality and the fit of the drysuit. I too am looking forward to extending my paddling season with the use of the drysuit.
Absolutely going to do a Maintenance video soon! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. Congratulations on the dry suit. It truly is amazing to experience paddling throughout the different seasons of the year.
@@MikeProut When I started paddling 25+ years ago I couldn't afford a drysuit, they were $1000, so I bought a wetsuit and a drytop, which served me well for years, a New Years day paddle on the Bay of Fundy was our thing for many years. Well, now drysuits are still around $1000 and fortunately I am able to replaced the wetsuit (seems to have shrunk) with a drysuit and its great to able to buy one from a Canadian company. Unfortunately I'm long longer near the Bay of Fundy, close to Lake Huron and Erie now.
@@markjones8846 Same same! For so many years I use to paddle on a very limited basis near the shore in a canoe just in case I capsized in the winter. Never did end up going over but I knew the risks of paddling in cold water. I took extra measures to make sure I would be safe. Could never afford a dry suit before. But after saving for so long and finally pulling the trigger it is amazing to be able to go paddling anytime anywhere also following proper safety measures. Enjoy! Sounds like you have a remarkable paddling spot. Thanks for your comment. Happy paddling! 😊👍
I was wondering what kind of gloves you wear to the nearly freezing marks of the waterways.
Are they water tight and do they keep your hands warm after cold water submerges?
I prefer the finger style over the mitts but no luck to suit my needs.
Where the mitts by no choice serves me better.
Thx in advance.
It depends on the air temperature. If it’s a mild day during winter I will wear my level six granite gloves. If the air temperature is really frosty and cold I will use a water proof over mitt over top of my gloves to keep my hands dry. It’s good experimenting. But I always definitely base my hand wear on the air temperature. Thanks for asking a great question. 😊👍
I am 5'10" and and "athletic" 220lbs. Trying to decide between an XL or an XXL. I have a Level Six Badin semi-dry top which is plenty large but have concerns that an XXL in the Odin would be too long for me as my inseam is only 30"
That’s a hard one to judge. I used the sizing guide on their website. It worked out OK for me. I would reference that if I was you. Good luck. 👍
Just got myself the same suit (too tall for women's suits!) and am looking forward to my first winter season! Thanks for your info and this follow up vid! What hoodie do you recommend?
Nice! You will love it. I usually where a winter toque but if im rolling i use the level six quartz hoodie. levelsix.ca/collections/headwear/products/quartz-hood
Thanks for stopping by! 😊👍
@@MikeProut thanks! I wondered if a toque would be enough for regular paddles! Looking forward to the rest of the season 😄
Yes! Enjoy! 😊👍
