This is my first real exposure to a sci fi book as a person who find books boring and under stimulating and I can say that this is probably one of the smartest written story I've listened, though the dialogue is not that emotional I guess but the ideas that it contain that encompass mathematics, sociology, political philosophy, psychology, and other disciplines make this so interesting to me. Thumbs up for this audiobook
I know I am pretty late to this but this book is a prequel to Asimov's Foundation trilogy and despite what Asimov says in the beginning, it is supposed to be read after the trilogy.
If you think books are boring, you are not really reading. You need to find the secret of the words. When you know the author of a book wrote to a friend to say that he had stopped a writing because he was looking for the right word. Words are worlds of meaning.

Sci-fi is what got me into reading, although I have to speed up audiobooks too keep em from being boring
I strongly recommend checking out the six Dune books and an older book from the golden age of Russian Literature, the Brothers Karamazov.
Malazan book of the fallen. Like dune, but you'll laugh out loud and then cry a bit

Why do you imagine anybody is interested to know that you didn't enjoy the book at the moment you bailed on it? Seems profoundly retarded to me.
What was that you don't like?

Weird reading. Boring voice, unusual pronounciations.
The book is 10 X better than presented here.
If you need a dramatic voice to find a book engaging, you may find on reflection that you have the mind of a child. 😘
It's read by AI as stated in the discription.
