You explained how to do these hinges in a way that was much easier for me to understand than anybody else. When you said you wouldn’t die in a ditch over something, I cracked up. I do enjoy your videos no matter how long they are so please don’t stress over it. We all love you, “just the way you are”.

Carol I loved this. By taking your time and talking yourself through this process, you talked me through it as well. I have made only one of these, and since it didn’t turn out perfect, I never made another. I now will try the process again. Don’t ever doubt yourself. Your videos have given me much inspiration and although I know you and hubby need time away for yourselves and your new camper, I will be missing your videos. So hope you have time to keep a few videos coming our way. Your creations are lovely.

Hi Carol, I have to say that your tag book is the neatest I have seen. Usually the spine is “wiggly wobbly”. I have never liked tab spined tag books because of this. After watching this video and another one of your videos where you had 6 tags, 3 on each side with a soft spine, I might give them a try. Thank you for sharing your talents with us.

I love this method of binding and that you can have such different “signatures” as well. I’d love to try this when I get back into my craft room. I’m doing slow stitching at the moment inspired by Rachel’s journal of stitchery. I’m far behind but that doesn’t bother me, stitching isn’t a race and apart from my broken ankle I’ve not been well, again! I’m so susceptible to anything that’s going around. But, bravo Carol. Well done, first time and on camera as well! 🥰🥰

I've seen old books bound like this but they seemed too loose, but yours doesn't so I'm thrilled you've shared this with us. I didn't think I'd like this type of binding but you've inspired me to try it. 👍 I think I'm going to try doing this, before any decorations, in an attempt to hide the glued part of the hinges.
I didn't think this video was too long .. good things often need time, and I was glued to the screen so the time passed quickly.

    • @carollaws838

Hi Michelle, its called Hi Tack glue, I use the fast tack one, its in a gold bottle - this is a link to amazon where you can get it, but if you have a hobbty craft store near you, its cheaper. I put it is a fine tip bottle, so the long nozzle on this bottle makes that easy to transfer. hope that helps! www.amazon.co.uk/Plush-Addict-Hi-Tack-Sticky-Purpose/dp/B01BTZV0Y4/ref=sr_1_5?crid=2JU3CC2K8HZSM&keywords=hi+tack+glue&qid=1651391566&sprefix=hi+tack%2Caps%2C77&sr=8-5

Carol, I think you did this beautifully. Your inner critic needs to shut up! As for forgetting what you were meant to do, let me tell you my mishap from today. I’m making a journal and I meant to reinforce the spine with a piece of Tyvek so that it wouldn’t split at the stress points. I made the entire cover and it is splitting at the stress points because guess what? I forgot to use the Tyvek. 🙄

Oh my talented Karol, it has given me a bit of anxiety to watch this video... (I say this with respect, honesty and appreciation...) Why do you put so much anxiety on yourself while creating something so beautiful? ... Who is behind your ear criticizing you, rushing you or something like that? NO ONE! :)
No person should "lose their breath" while creating something, unless it's because they are very happy and relaxed...
When I see something like this in videos from this community, it honestly makes me wonder why there is so much self-imposed pressure...
I think that when we lose the correct objective of what makes us create and share what we do, then we add that tension and that need for acceptance and imaginary prejudice...
We create because it makes us happy :) And we must share what we do without worrying about the absolute opinion of the rest. Free ourselves from the pressure to ''do things right''. What does that mean anyway?...
And if we do something totally new for us and also, on camera, what importance or "seriousness" does it have at all that in the process we make mistakes in something or things do not turn out as we imagined? It's part of the entertainment!
Once I saw some videos that were like a challenge or something like that, where the girls started a timer clock and had to make a journal page or a couple of Tags or journaling cards, etc, in less than 10 minutes... .. WHY?! ........... What kind of idea is that, of adding adrenaline or stress to the creation of art!... In my inner world that doesn't make sense.
It also makes no sense that women creating beautiful and creative things are offering apologies because the glue does not come out of the tube or because the work table is cluttered with things, or whatever it is that has to do with the beautiful and spontaneous act of CREATING.
I believe that when we are happy creating and when we do it without expectations and without ego, without unnecessary rush, and without stress, we inspire much more our own hearts and minds, and also others...
Flow... Be kind to ourselves... Humorously and realistically accept the mistakes we make when creating.... Do anything creative for our own pure joy and satisfaction.... FLOW..... .........
I hope my "spoken" thoughts are well received. There are no bad intentions, just showing a point of view that we may have overlooked...
    A big hug.
    Vilma.

ok, I read several comments on your video and I think now my words make more sense.
I can't believe that people get overwhelmed and don't even dare to do it again, or get demotivated or stressed while creating. You have to look at life and creation from another angle... It's my most sincere opinion.

Hi, I am an anxious person who questions her ability, always have been - i love making things, and like to push my boundaries, even though it makes me anxious - its well worth it for me when I see what I have made - it makes me feel proud that some people want what I make. I dont feel under pressure, just aware that time runs away from me - never sure how long I can record for on my phone! xx

@@carollaws838 Darling do you see what I mean? You take my messages as an attack or feel the need to offer explanations or apologies. There's no need! It's not an attack! I am encouraging you to GO FLOW and stop being under emotional pressure all the time.
Neither me nor anyone here is evaluating you at all!
The beautiful creations you make have NOTHING TO DO with the anxiety you convey in the videos, creating. They are separate things.
I know a lot about anxiety syndrome, believe me. Don't expose yourself to growing anxiety like that. It is not the way. Take my words for good. They are for good! :)
You don't want anxious people to stop watching your videos, do you? We all want to see something and someone who gives us encouragement, inspiration, a moment of tranquility and entertainment.
Be happy and flow! It'll be good for you. It does me good.
