This video is an overview of Devyat Association North Section 3 Rodion, and in this video I answer the question of whether or not she truly increases the power of Rupture teams.

Important note: sleep deprived me didn't read the S3 effect correctly when writing the script, and I got it wrong:
When hitting into a 15/3 stack, Rodya's S3 actually goes -4, not neutral, so it's a lot worse than I make it out ot be.

That's what I noticed, it seems like when it comes to Rupture players only care about if the ID is Rupture count positive or not... and if it's not count positive, then it's a bad Rupture ID.
However, this new ID not only has amazing damage but also great clashing. Which is something Rupture teams very much lack.

It wasn't mentioned in the video but in non-chain abnormality fights, if Rodya retreats she doesn't bring anyone else in (obviously) but she DOES give her skill slot to someone else
Is that "gifting of slot" controllable?
Like it gifts to specific id in irder select?
Might be a strat to switch her at last moment before she dies and get 2 slots to strongest id

Woah, that's actually pretty good, i thought she would just be gone, this actually make 1 carry ID strat a lot easier, although idk where would this be of use
2:28 you can actually bench Talisclair and forming at least 4 Glut res with Rodya s3 being one of them without the Rupture stack conditional gets the target from 0 Rupture to exactly 16 Potency and 3 Count after that s3 (assuming she gets the Talisman, which at 211HP, should be possible without K Hong Lu and 7 Outis on the field unless at 5 lvl below Rodya), which perfectly fulfill her s1, s2 conditional to not reduce Count btw
@jigglyjoe206 Hm, interesting. This way you also could re-add Yi Sang to the team, and then it's actually pretty decent (though you have to fish for a specific turn then)
@@ultranumhere i tried a team w LCCB Ishmael w her Guard and s3, Lantern Don who’s the main Count provider w s1 and her Guard, Rose Greg who has s2 and maybe AEDD but mainly for his Glut Guard, give Rodya extra skill slot so she can proc Rupture twice per turn and the last ID on the team could be between 7 Outis w lower HP when form Glut res or 7 Faust who can clash next to Rodya tho or give another extra slot to Lantern Don
i just find this in general more consistent for Rupture if multi chain battles is the way going forward since you can activate Talisclair support passive multiple times instead of being in reroll hell to only use him for 2 turns then wait for the next skill rotation
Thanks for the idea. I tried this with giving 2 slots to warp-sang. Using her s3 while at 10 or trunk gets you to be positive 1 and since you are going for glut res you also should be using 2 yi sang s2 or 1 + a s3 if you are at 15 or more charge and can get the res without that slot. Against a staggered part 7 faust becomes iffy but even without her you can get about 800-1k rupture damage on your burst turn and have a stack with 2 or more count and 60+ potency. With an part you can clash against you get to use 7 faust's s3 which should not disrupt the stack enough for it to drop. Optimaly you want Rodya to go first but that's pretty easy with her being 5-8 at 10 or more trunk.
Edit:
This setup makes you able to go in on turn 3 at the earliest but has the benefit of not having to field talisman Sinclair and thus not needing to fish for the perfect s2 into s3 line. It's also "repeatable" compared to talisman Sinclair's extremely restricting combat passive and conditionals causing him to be unable to get to exactly 5 talisman after the first turn. Rodya will continue to ramp up and be unusable but since you just spent s3 all your following skills should be neutral outside of ego.
After playing around with the support talisman set up for a while it was pretty jarring seeing an ID that looks like it was designed with that passive in mind. Hoping we get more aggressively statted rupture IDs with a Gluttony S2 so it gets more natural to make gluttony chains without needing to use defensive skills or an S1 to complete the resonance. Or cheap EGO options that are gluttony for some of the IDs we see regularly in rupture teams; Faust getting a cheap Gluttony EGO would help a lot with consistent damage for harder encounters.
So she basically: Eats Rupture (unless you achieve the conditionals), Deals Big DMG, refuses to elaborate & leaves.
Saw someone use talisman support passive on her. Seems to work well
Aaaaand I'm the first one to comment yet again. I'm a bit afraid of the recent tendency of s3s dealing more damage than WDon's and WRyoshu's s3s, but we will see how it goes.

Almost got the first comment. Also I think the damage dealing capability is a bit balanced out by forcing Rodya to die unless she switches out.

I think that Devyat Rodion is to rupture what N-Sinclaire is to Burn. The kit has some of that status, but it is not it`s main focus. The focus is damage. You don`t kill the enemy by stacking them into oblivion and watching the particle-effects finish them off, you kill them by killing them. If you don`t do it fast enough, the detriment of the identity will kill YOU.

Come to think of it, rupture is a very bad concept in general. It is a free true damage effect, that, when it gains full power, can just pulverise anything by ignoring all resists. Giving rupture an id with good clashing AND application will destroy any possibility for difficult or even barely challenging content.
Making bad IDs with good (or at least manageable) rupture was a solution until now, making good IDs without rupture is devyat Rodya.
I think making rupture more of a support effect for powerful physical IDs, so they could still deal damage to resistant enemies, is a path worth trying
I think PM need to implement effects akin to those of a certain MD Ego gift, where an X amount of Rupture count can be used in place of Rupture potency. It's a good way to keep Rupture pot in check while making the process of maintaining count slightly more pleasant than eating glass
Rupture will probably get a massive spotlight put on it for Season five. Where we end up with basically an upgrade to current day Tremor, with very high investment requirements for specialist units and EGOS to bring out the maximum potential of that team. I am totally willing to be proven wrong on this point but that is my best guess.

@texytccx2610 Bloodfiends GAIN power off bleed remember. Why would you want to to bleed an enemy who becomes more powerful the more blood there is??? Will Bloodfiend units get bleed? Most likely. Will the bloodfiend Hunters have bleed? Absolutely not
@@texytccx2610 I mean maybe yeah, but bleeds already great so it doesn’t feel like the right move really. Only time will tell though.
A correction: S3 does not work like the rest of her skills. It will not apply rupture at high count but will still consume it on hit. It's good to read skill descriptions fully before making a guide.

Good video. However this I am still a firm believer of this id's place on a rupture team. If we continue towards chain battle ego passives will be more consistently available and dimension shreder yi-sang makes him neutral on all skills without their conditionals and count positive when applying count (if you are using warp-sang which to me is still a better option than his ring id). This would allow you to easily stack count if you 2 slotted him. The optimal teamcomp for using this Rodya id does not have a 6th member that is worth bringing outside of rosespanner Gregor and everything he does outside of aedd is kinda ass whilst giving a second slot to one of your best count providers has very little cost.
As soon as we get another "modern" rupture id that she can be swapped into that isn't detrimental to the stack a final judgement can be made. It's still too early to tell what pm was cooking with here since we haven't had a true modern design for a rupture id outside of warp sang and maybe 7 faust/heath if you want to count them as more modernized ids. To be clear what I mean by modern is the design weighing towards some sort of standardization of self sufficient and tailored to a specific pre-defined role. Take for example butterfly yi-sang. His role as a sinkin identity is to give them a more consistent and straightforwards game plan in encounters without sanity. He wants to clash to be as close to count neutral as possible and when he has the opportunity unleashing an s3 as setup for the rest of the team. He doesn't delete spicebush's reason for existing as it still is the better id for fights with sanity since deluge is not hindered there like butterflies are.
Edit: whilst trying to set up support passive I noticed that without fielding talisman Sinclair you have no pride generation. Dimension shredder is technically pride gen as it uses 6 other ressources to give you 1 pride as it does not use any itself. This was already a problem for previous rupture comps but with Devyat Rodya no liking k corp Hong Lu being fielded it's a major flaw to her seeing any usage atm.
This is my team, W Sang, Lantern Don, Seven Faust and Devyat Rodion in that deployment order. Make sure to have Dim Shredder on Yi Sang. Oh yeah and make sure to have K corp Hong Lu and Talisclair and other rupture units on the bench
Dont care about rupture stack and count before Devyat Rodion retreats and the win condition is to use Dim Shredder Yi Sang for the ego passive. After retreating Rodion after using S3(its somewhat optional?), its easy to maintain rupture count and can use talisman sinclair to make this easier.
devyat rodion is literally a better 7 faust why are they not realizing it
I don’t really like this id, the only strategy that feel good for her is carrying the early-mid game (if it doesn’t end right at the early-mid due to how strong she is) before running aways and 2 slot one of my identity… I just don’t like that concept

I love her! She's a character that enjoys rupture, rather than the rupture archetype enjoying her, which is fine I think. They wanted to push for the concept of deadlines & deliveries being made on time, and I think PM nailed it. Rupture was never gonna be the MAIN thing it had going for it. I've heard so many people being disappointed or doomposting about how she's bad/hard to use. It's almost as if people were expecting her to have dimensional rift or spark discharge from Dimension Shredder/AEDD in her kit for free or something.

@@ultranumhere I just made a video showcase of a team I made just for her, she managed to outperform everyone in damage.
The thing to use her is that you requiere some strategic thinking for when is better to atack, and with which skills. I bet many people that just go all out every turn are not going to get this. I'm not going to say she's extremely good, but she's really powerful once you put to use some brainpower.
Making that team for her even made me understand how to use rupture better, even without rupture count inflicting egos.
This is a much more satisfying editing style, I gotta say.

Tf you guys arguing about? She obviously belongs in the, *KMS,* also know as *Suicide Squad,* archetype. Along with *W Ryoshu, Crack Faust, Crack Heath, Shi Heath, W Don and K Hong Lu, etc.*
*Legends say that gathering every single ID of this secret archetype together will create one of the best teams that Limbus Company has ever seen.*

i'm still on the fence about her actual viability but i do wish people would recognize that a unit's sbility to play well with a team lies not just in their ability to inflict the status but to capitalize on it as well. this happened with WHeathcliff as well during the 1st few days of release
@@borger8045 you're forgetting that it's Rupture we're talking about. It's incredibly inconsistent as is, and units like Rodya have nothing to capitalize on of they're not inflicting the debuff.
@@ultranumhere i mean yeah you have a point, but her ability to just not consume count (and the s3 reroll) are pretty good. there's also not a lot stopping you from putting her in 7th slot and swapping her in after you've hit the threshold. (even if it's not as convenient as it could be atm)
I really like this ID but she feels like she was put in with PM knowing they’re going to try and make rupture better next season. Still feels pretty good and a lot of fun but she’s missing her team I think.

I have been using the new Rodion in rupture and she is really strong in that archetype. Rupture is very weak in the early game and a lot of units clashes really poorly and struggle to gain sanity and stay alive in order to build ego, support and passives to maintain rupture count. The new rodion really helps that and she can start the stack with s3 and retreat, giving someone who is very rupture positive when built up like W Yi Sang double slots or put in a new rupture positive unit. This is extremely strong and partially solves one of ruptures weaknesses. I did 3 random runs with Cassetti using this strat and managed to get 60+ rupture and 10+ rupture count every single time. I have no idea why people say the new Rodion is bad for rupture...
To demonstrate what I mean, try playing rupture in the timekiller story fight with and without the new Rodion with a 4 man team :3
She simply doesn't lift the bar as much. Like you mention her shoring up rupture's early game weakness, but without conditional (the early game) her numbers are about the same as 7 Faust. One might argue slightly worse even because her S1 conditional is higher while having lower offense level and a lower floor. I don't think you can even count the courier trunk conditionals because they take 10, which would require a minimum of 4 S2s, and/or counters. Turn 5 for an alternate condition isn't exactly fast.
7 Faust S1: 4 Base + (3 x 2). Coin power for every 3 rupture on target.
Devyat Rodya S1: 3 base + (4 x 2). Coin power for every *6* rupture on target or 10 CT on self.
7 Faust S2: 4 base + (4 x 3). Coin power for every 6 rupture on target.
Devyat Rodya S2: 4 base + (4 x 3). Coin power for every 6 rupture on target or 10 CT on self.
7 Faust S3: 5 + (4 x 3)
Devyat Rodya S3: 5 + (4 x 3). Coin power for every 6 rupture on target or 10 CT on self.
As you can see, the coins are nearly identical. I think 7 Faust is good too, but she doesn't blow anyone's minds and people often forget about her. She is arguably also worse at building up the stack first because her S2 doesn't stop consuming rupture until a healthy stack is built while Faust's is always neutral post clash or even positive if she lost a coin during the clash. One can bring up her synergy with Red Sheet Support but then you have to bring up Faust's with Spark Discharge.
Admittedly, the extra slot thing is cool, but that's also a late game benefit (15 CT = minimum 5 S2 and/or counters). Late game is something rupture does really well and something Rodya does very well. It does not shore up rupture's weaknesses. All this points to is that she is simply on par, and that's fine. In all honesty, she will probably turn out better in the future simply because she scales better. But as it is now, she is really neither awful nor the savior of rupture.
@@peterma362 well, rodion gain 10 courier trunks on turn 5 is wrong, she gain 3 on turn start which mean at turn 1 she has 3, and next turn she has 6+ amount gained from skill use, . So that would take her 3 turn on average to have 10 courier trunks
@@daan_long Only her counter gains ct on use. The rest of them says on hit. So no, you do not get them turn start. And even if she did you would still be wrong. She can only get at most 3 per slot. So even if you did 3 counters you would only add up to 9 CT, therefore not getting her coin power until turn 4 at the earliest.
@@peterma362 did you actually used her id? The courier trunks effect says that on turn start it gain 3, so on turn 3 without the amount gained from skill use she already have 9

@@cereal8193 No? Most of attacks are count negative, and most of attacks of rupture units are bad clashers, so you have to go unopposed most of the time. Also there is no real "count" apply focused unit like Boatworks Iggymale for sinking (that can also clash well) and no real "count" apply focused ego like rime shank. The whole stratedy for rupture nowadays is to refresh untill you manage to apply talisman, then calculate every attack to make sure the count doesnt die.
It would be much funnier if it needed дев'ять rupture and дев'ять count

@GameBooAdvancePlus as many of the commenters have pointed out, yes, you can! Rodya works well in combination with Talisman's passive, as she can get the effect for herself and use it to inflict a ton of Rupture instead of Sinclair.

I really don't know why she isn't bleed. She is literally using a giant turbo knife and a chainsaw. Why is it rupture? I mainly want to put Rodya on my bleed team with her WAW ego and am just sad she still doesn't have a good bleed ID.
@GunthokTheMental probably because making a Bleed Rodya (especially one with Devyat's power and damage) would make Bleed the best status effect in the game

Her s3 is a bit awkward, count wise. If you are at 15+ potency and 2 count, you lose your rupture entirely, as the count application is on the second coin (ie. after the second hit). This means the only time where her s3 is neutral is under 15 potency. And by the time you have enough charges to make the skill count positive, the rupture potency is likely above 15. I guess you could use this skill to kickstart the count during a second phase or something.
