Hello This is not just a colormeter that are not as expensive, it's a spectrometer that measures the spectral composition of light used by lighting specialists. A simple inexpensive colormeter gives the two key WB values that are K (amber blue balance) and magenta green balance. The spectrometer is able to analyse each different lighting source of a scene against spectral discontinuities and turn off some weird sources, or replace out of spec bulbs, or add controlled lightings to overpower bad ones.
Thank you for that information. I happen to purchase some tools and various meters from someone and a Sekonic C7000 spectrometer was in the case as well. Wish I knew how to use it because it's a very sophisticated tool. I hate to sell tools but I'm going to list it for sale and someone that knows how to use it will get a good deal on it. Thanks
What’s the difference between c800 and c7000. Can c800 measure ambient light settings so I can set shutter speed and aperture or does it only measure color temp? I think the c7000 has additional benefit of being able to read ambient like cheaper light meters. Can’t tell if c800 can do this too.

Unfortunately it was stolen a month ago when our studio was robbed 🤦🏻♂️ Not sure it is one of our higher priorities for replacing

Can this be used to measure the color accuracy of tv's, monitors and smartphones?
No, this isn't for doing that kind of test.
