Jenn, As someone that has been cooking Thanksgiving dinner for literally decades and ALWAYS stressing over the turkey, let me save you years of worry. Spatchcock and dry brine your turkey from now on. I have done this the past 2 years and it is hands down the easiest and tastiest turkey I have ever made. It's practically foolproof and did I say it's fast? My 16 pound turkey cooked in about 90 minutes. You can then use your oven to cook your side dishes as your turkey rests. There are several TH-cam videos that explain how to cook your turkey this way. Plus, it's really fun to say! Spatchcocking is the way to go!! 🙂

We use the Martha Stewart perfect turkey recipe! Bottle of white wine, 1lb of melted butter and a cheese cloth in top of the Turkey and baste all the time

When Jenn was saying they have a cult following, I couldn't help but laugh based on the case we did! Also pub subs are superior to any other type of sub, which I wanted to include in the case, but didn't want to get docked for that haha

Happy Thanksgiving to you all, I remember my first time cooking Christmas dinner, I had my parents and brother, grandmother, aunt and two cousins and thier 2 dogs plus myself husband 2yr old and a 5 mth old. It was a lovely day but that night our son started vomiting my husband and aunt felt sick the dogs had never seen stairs and kept running up and down them. After that year I done it every year even having upto 15 people for dinner. Really love doing it. X

Love home vlogs How come you don't put the tree in the family room to enjoy while watching movies etc and having meals? Curious. You cant really mess up a turkey unless you leave it in too long. If you have an oven that cooks fast be mindful of the temperature with a thermometer. Insert it in the breast of the turkey. 20 to 30 mins per pound at 325 should be good. Slow and steady makes it savory.

Oh I miss Bear in the Big Blue House🥲 My only baby grew up watching that and it was one of very few shows I actually watched and loved. The colors in the set were indescribable compared to other kid shows in the yrs 2000+ … I still have the Olo Bear, the Big Bear that sniffs.. Even tho my daughter’s 24, in Med School and I’m 😭 SO missing those early years. Treasure them all. :)

Tim asking if any grocers offer free fruit reminded me of some of my best retail-memories. The stores I worked for were very like Publix, and when working Produce, our favorite thing to hear was a kid saying “why are there so many different apples?” We’d slice a few different varieties for samples and explain sugar content and how some apples are better suited for baking and some are better fresh.

Happy Thanksgiving! I do my turkey in a Reynolds oven bag. I inject it with Cajun marinade, put it in the bag, and it comes out to perfection each time. Super, super easy.😉
So two things of it your first time cooking a whole turkey I highly recommend trying the spatchcock method. It cooks a lot quicker and the bird stays pretty juicy. Also in my home state of PA the store chain called Giant has free bananas and clementines for kids to have.

I do agree with you Jen about baby needing sleep (ive had 3 babies) but i also know from experience that if you become accustomed to x-number of hours sleep or waking at 630 am for example, your body has “muscle memory” and you’ll find yourself waking up routinely on schedule.
First trimester is from week 1 to week 12, second trimester is week 13 to 26 and the third trimester is week 27 to end of pregnancy. love all your videos whether they are from home or out and about. much love
I enjoy the home vlogs and the hauls. Fun fact. Lol. We don't have alcohol in our grocery stores in Massachusetts. Always thought it was interesting that Florida grocery stores have it. I made a turkey today and put a good amount of salt on top and it makes the skin crispy! I didn't touch the turkey for hours just let it cook. It came out good! I've seen the butter done but have never tried it before. Im sure your turkey turned out delicious!

When my mom was a child, thats how her mom and dad did Christmas. The house got decorated and cookies 🍪 were baked, but after midnight mass and kids off to bed Santa 🎅 came and the tree went and toys placed under the tree (unwrapped) No Santa toys were wrapped, only family gifts got wrapped... And the kids always got oranges 🍊 in their stockings, because they were hard to come by (back in the 40's and very expensive, so they were part of the Christmas 🎄 magic!!! I've always loved ❤ hearing all the storys... My dad was German and had lots of Christmas traditions as well, and they did an amazing job of mixing them for us kids and giving us awesome traditions... pk book done... lol Happy Thanksgiving 😂 and best of luck with your turkey!!! Don't over think it!!!
That's very good advice. I'd extend that advice also to the close relatives that live in the same house as the parents of the newborn baby. Aunties, uncles, grand parents and siblings need their sleep too. Often times with precious little ones they not only keep the parents awake but they also keep close relatives awake too.
I think 26 weeks is third. I am at 28 weeks with our little girl. Dec.6th so y'all are neck and neck with us. I miscarried my son Josiah while y'all were just having Jackson so it's always been so bitter sweet watching him grow up.
I've cooked for 25, one Christmas, as we don't have thanksgiving, happy thanksgiving guys. Jenn you will be fine, just don't panic. I'll be waiting for the update after your party. 😃😃

Lots of supermarkets in the UK give out free fruit to children and happy Thanksgiving. We are starting to buy food for Christmas and have ordered our turkey crown, gammon and pigs in blankets from the butcher to be collected a couple of days before Christmas Day 😊

I made a turkey today and put a good amount of salt on top and it makes the skin crispy! I didn't touch the turkey for hours just let it cook. It came out good! I've seen the butter done but have never tried it before. Im sure your turkey turned out delicious!

When my mom was a child, thats how her mom and dad did Christmas. The house got decorated and cookies 🍪 were baked, but after midnight mass and kids off to bed Santa 🎅 came and the tree went and toys placed under the tree (unwrapped) No Santa toys were wrapped, only family gifts got wrapped... And the kids always got oranges 🍊 in their stockings, because they were hard to come by (back in the 40's and very expensive, so they were part of the Christmas 🎄 magic!!! I've always loved ❤ hearing all the storys... My dad was German and had lots of Christmas traditions as well, and they did an amazing job of mixing them for us kids and giving us awesome traditions... pk book done... lol Happy Thanksgiving 😂 and best of luck with your turkey!!! Don't over think it!!!
That's very good advice. I'd extend that advice also to the close relatives that live in the same house as the parents of the newborn baby. Aunties, uncles, grand parents and siblings need their sleep too. Often times with precious little ones they not only keep the parents awake but they also keep close relatives awake too.

I think 26 weeks is third. I am at 28 weeks with our little girl. Dec.6th so y'all are neck and neck with us. I miscarried my son Josiah while y'all were just having Jackson so it's always been so bitter sweet watching him grow up.
I've cooked for 25, one Christmas, as we don't have thanksgiving, happy thanksgiving guys. Jenn you will be fine, just don't panic. I'll be waiting for the update after your party. 😃😃

Fun fact. I work for the company that makes Publix bags. They have an extreme quality standard with both their pallets that are shipped to them and the bags they order from us. There can be no significant defects.
Not a Publix, but our local grocery store gives out fruit. We don’t have any publix in Oregon.

Lots of supermarkets in the UK give out free fruit to children and happy Thanksgiving. We are starting to buy food for Christmas and have ordered our turkey crown, gammon and pigs in blankets from the butcher to be collected a couple of days before Christmas Day 😊

hey Tim wot u said bout getting it all up on Christmas eve......well when me my brother & sister were small our mum was a single mum, but she used 2 put all the Christmas decs up...all over the house on Christmas eve & tell us santa 🎅 had done it because we'd been such good children

I know when I was pregnant around thanksgiving , the smell of turkey cooking made nauseated. I sat outside with Coke and saltines while it cooked. Hope Jenn and Tim have stress free thanksgiving. Jackson has fun with his family.

I'm in New Jersey, and never saw any grocery store (or anywhere else for that matter, except for Doubletree Hotels, when you check in. I hear you on being both excited and nervous - I used to get that way about entertaining, especially cooking for others - so I don't any more - too much stress. LOL. Good job on putting up the tree, Tim. Tim - I love the Oxo brand, and if something is offered for a product I'm looking for in Oxo, I definitely get it - especially for the Good Grips stuff - very ergonomic, and user-friendly!

I’m excited to see how your thanksgiving turkey turns out. Don’t be afraid of anything…..it’s only as hard as you make it. But the main thing is…..don’t let cooking consume your day to the point where you never get a chance to visit with family & friends and just relax. Happy Thanksgiving!!! Here in Vermont the grocery store, Hannafords, used to give out sugar cookies at the bakery to kids 12 and under but that went away and didn’t come back with Covid.
