If you haven't already, look up the Robot Chicken sketch pointing out how horrible the parents actually are to their daughters since it's very funny.
A similar movie you HAVE to check out is It Takes Two starring Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen٫ Steve Gutenberg٫ and Kirstie Ally; it's HILARIOUS!! 😂💖

RIP Natasha Richardson. Such a talent and even more brilliant in comedy.
so sad that she passed
She was married to Liam Neeson. He said she was the love of his life, so sad.
The scene where Chessy finds out she's talking to Annie is one of the sweetest moments 👍🏼
It’s actually still pretty amazing to know that this was Lindsay Lohan’s first film debut, and she’s playing two different characters. Either way, this is definitely a live action Disney classic that is really funny. I especially like how 90’s it is.
Not just two different characters, two different characters convincingly playing each other in-universe. The acting is shockingly good, and a sign of what we SHOULD have gotten had she kept up acting without circumstances screwing her up so much.
In case anyone else wanted a translation of the french:
But you're kidding, I hope. Meredith is not the girl for you. But it's not possible, I'm dreaming. What...
Not clarissa looking into the camera everytime tim guesses something accurate that's about to happen
R.I.P. Natasha Richardson (Mrs. Liam Neeson) was killed in a Skiing accident in 2009. Disney had talked about a Parent Trap sequel until her death.
In the original 1961 version, Susan (Hallie) when she reveals her identity to mom she exploded saying what the parents did was lousy. Growing up is realizing that she was absolutely right to lash out. Also, the parents of that version fight a lot more when they’re reunited at first.
Yo Dude, spoilers.
They might react to it. Let them find out for themselves.
@@impishsongster333 problem is nobody reacts to the og version and plus they already know the outline so nothing different happens.
@@gregschultz8639 Have you not been watching this channel? Timothee reacts to a TON of OG movies. Lol. And yeah, both movies are sharing the same concept, but they are different movies in different decades. And they do have some major differences, it would be nice since neither of them have seen the OG movie, if people wouldn't spoil, what those differences are.
I don't accept your weak excuses. You shouldn't have revealed anything about the original film. Not cool dude.
Not gonna lie, as a kid, that went over my head. But now as an adult, I think it’s kinda messed up that the parents not just walked from each other, but they walked away from their other child and not talk about it. And they didn’t even bother with the other child. I mean, maybe I missed it, or the split was just too painful to talk about, but it makes me wonder what even happened between the parents that was so bad, that they would cut themselves off at least from the other child?
The dark haired camp councilor also is the one who played Janice on Friends.
Rest in peace

Some cool trivia: Meredith’s mother “Vicki” is played by the actress who plays Vicki in the og film. Also, the scene where Annie is singing “let’s get together” - that song was sung by the twins in the og film. Even in the original film, the twins are allergic to strawberries.
Like Clarisse said, they are RICH! 😂 The father very well could open another vineyard near London, or the mother could open a branch in Napa and live there. They really shouldn’t be worried about the twins when either option works.
I always loved the trivia of Vicki. Because of her I actually tend to think of this movie as a sequel to the original. Meredith's mother Vicki called Annie (while posing as Hallie) 'pet'. Which is the same thing og Vicki called the girls in the original. She also told her "You can call me Aunt Vicki" in this creepy almost inhuman tone, which is exactly the same thing og Vicki's mother said to Annie's og counterpart Sharon.
If you think about it the timeline fits. The og film is set in 1960 (that was the year on the telegram Sharon sent Susan). This film is set in 1998. Meredith is 26. That leaves a 12 year gap. Plenty of time for og Vicki to get over any trauma the og twins gave her, continue her gold digging ways, find a new rich man to con (Meredith's father Mr Blake), marry him, and give birth to a daughter that she named Meredith who she then taught all her gold digging tricks too. Then 38 years after it happened to her, history repeats itself with her daughter.
The Parent Trap 1998 is a sequel to the 1961 original. I stand by it!! 😁🤣
@@shiro5239 technically, it would be the fourth or fifth movie. I am aware of three films that follow the 1961 Parent Trap.
The soundtrack list in this movie is quite impeccable. I love ‘There She Goes’.
I went to Camp Walden as a kid - because of this movie 😻 My mom didn't think it existed, 'if you find it'.. 'found it!!' 😁 Anyone else??
Fun fact Meredith's mother is the original other woman from the original, Vicky.
Legendary 90's kid movie. I am 32 and still come back to rewatch it on occasion
Same at 21!
This actually happened in real life, when one twin became an actress and the other's friends halfway around the world saw. They met and found out they were identical twins split at birth, it's actually all in a documentary called twinsters
Special Shoutout to Grandfather because he’s adorable and as British as it gets. Love his study.
My sister and i memorized the secret hand shake. Lindsay also had an ear piece so could hear her lines so she knew where to come in on.
This was a trend Disney liked doing from the late 90s-early 2000s of them remaking classic live action comedies to make them more remembered.
Another good one with Lohan also is Freaky Friday
I think Disney also remake Herbie the love bug.
@@louiedavis4909 The did with Lindsey
@louiedavis4909 Herbie Fully Loaded. It's more like a sequel/reboot also with Lindsay. They don't really mention much of Herbie's past but he is a vintage race car from the start.
@@demo2823 Yippee was a race car. I remember watching Herbie when I was a kid in the early 80s.
@@nager1997 I'd have less of an issue with remakes and animation if they went the other way more often.
A cinema classic and a reminder that few people do physical comedy as good as her.
Something I appreciate about Futurama - and I don't often say this about that show and gender - is that the character of Amy was in part created to see how casually they could do slapstick humor with a girl character. Turned out a-okay; women (and others) should not be treated as delicate waifs that can't take an impact.
Lisa Ann Walter as Chessy is the MVP of this movie. SHE MADE THINGS HAPPEN 🔥
I heard she and the actress playing Meredith are besties in real life
@@melissasheppard6674 I’ve heard that! They’ve done watch parties too
What's interesting is, this premise (splitting up the kids this way) seems so strange to us, and even like an example of bad parenting, but it didn't always seem that way. In previous generations (the original movie came out in 1961), if divorced parents lived far away from each other, regular travel between the two simply wasn't feasible. My great grandmother was married and divorced before she married my great grandfather, and she had 6 kids from that first marriage. When they divorced, she took 3, and the dad took 3, and she moved to California from the east coast. As far as we know, none of them ever saw each other again. My family doesn't even know the names of the other half siblings anymore. Of course, in their case they knew about their other brothers and sisters, and I'm sure there were letters written back and forth, but they really did simply split the family in two and never look back.
Yeah, it wasn't common and obvious for a lot of us that Chessie and Martin were the "real parents" for the twins entire lives. Chessie has literally been there since day one and never left. And Martin came when Elizabeth went back to London. Annie grew up with a father in her life as Hallie did with Chessie as her mother and no one thought, "Hey, lets be grateful to these two before Nick and Elizabeth"!
I love this
9:50 In the immortal words of Janice: “OH. MAI. GWYODD!”
Me when Timothée doesn’t get the really niche references: “You want to know the difference between us: I have class and you don’t.”
(Just kidding)
If nothing else, they're certainly both _upper_ class considering where they live, the camp, and how casually they fly around.
Astonishing reaction to this classic!!! I’m sure you’d been told that this is a remake of the 1961 film and that the actress who played Meredith’s mom was the gold digging fiancé from the original. Yes I’d love to see you react to it. To film both Annie and Hallie, Lindsey Lohan would be one twin for one shot and switch with her photo double for the second shot. For more Lindsey Lohan films here are some recommendations: Life-Size, Just My Luck, Freaky Friday (2003), Get A Clue, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Labor Pains, and Falling For Christmas. For Dennis Quaid; The Rookie, Yours, Mine, and Ours (2005), Footloose (2011), On A Wing And A Prayer, Soul Surfer, and I Can Only Imagine.

Very iconic movie and very funny.
The fact that I watched this movie since I was a little girl feels nostalgic, many happy childhood moments, I'm glad you saw this film💕
I just saw the girl (now lady) who played Lindsey Lohan’s body double in this movie in Henry IV, at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.
This is a remake of the 1961 Walt Disney "Parent Trap" starring Haley Mills, Maureen O'Hara, and Brian Keith. The original "Vicky" in the original film has a cameo in the new film as the mother of Meredith Blake.
I was LITERALLY just watching a clip from this! This was one of my favorite movies growing up!
This, freaky Friday and herbie's movie is what I call "The Lohan's trilogy" as it were my childhood movies
So I first saw this movie when they played it on Disney Channel from time to time. For the most part, it was the same, except for one thing: They cut out the ear piercing scene (I assume because they didn't want kids to try doing that at home or something). So, imagine my surprise when I later on got a home copy of the movie and saw that for the first time lol. It was like a mini Mandela effect or something.
Never seen this before with subtitles on, I just now learned her name was Chessy not Jessie.
37:16 I love how he stared at her wondering why she was angrily walking slowly towards him, glaring at his kids, and still suspected nothing
I love The Parent Trap, it`s so quotable.
And then the hayley mills sequels when an older adult were great as well
I work at one of these rich kids camp, and let me tell you it's just like this, the kids don't know privacy, or personal space haha, they also start hanging out alone without counselors at 11-12 and getting free time. It was a culture shock, but so fun, its like I got to relieve my childhood. They also do bougie sports like water skiing and horseback riding.
That was a classic movie I loved this so far
I've seen clips of this movie but never the whole thing before so this will be fun watching with you Tim and your beautiful wife Clariss too 😄👏🏻
Lindsay played so fabulous, both characters so vividly and distinctly different but still natural and with great chemistry to herself that I know people who thought after viewing this film that she actually had a secret twin.
Agreed
This movie was so amazing, it should have honestly won soooo many awards.
Never seperate twins.
I love it when Clariss looks at the camera 😂
The soundtrack was BIG among my friend group and I still love it to this day.
Thanks guys really needed cheering up to feeling so emotional. Just rewatched water boy and longest yard 🙏🥰🇬🇧
Thank you Tim great react and are you both a thing she calls you babe 🤭🤨
@@kimByhurst-px1zd Yeah they’re married 🥰 my first video of Tim’s was the two of them watching My Big Fat Greek Wedding (Fabulous reaction!) and they shared they were newlyweds!
The elevator scene where Dennis Quaid leans as the door closes is an homage to a scene where Cary Grant does the same in the movie 'My Favorite Wife'. Fantastic movie and highly recommend.
The actress that played Meredith's Mom also played twin's dad's bride-to-be Vicki in the original.
I grew up in the 70's & 80's. My mom used to borrow a movie projector & film reels (mostly Disney) from the library, before VHS & Beta video players were a thing. Back then, there was also this thing called, "The Wonderful World of Disney" that played on ABC, every Sunday night. That was back in the days of, 6 channels total. Then when cable came out, we got The Disney Channel. I grew up on old school Disney. The original Parent Trap, was one of my favorites. I can pretty much recite the whole movie verbatim. For this remake, they re-used some of the original dialogue, word for word. And some of the original pranks, are copied almost exactly also. Lohan & the cast did a nice job, but the original is a much much better movie, imho. I hope you'll check it out.
Thanks for the reaction!🙂
What's even funnier is that later on,there was a another remake but with the Oslen Twins.
I LOVED this movie! It was good 😎❤ it’s been years since I’ve seen it. It was also hilarious 😂 also my breaks about over I’ll catch you next time Timmy and folks 😎❤
So for the longest time I was trying to figure out why the dad was so familiar to me, then I remembered he's also the dad in Yours, Mine and Ours. I also recommend that movie
In the hispanic conuntries, the title was "twins' game"
I love the parents trap you gonna love it the movie has ended
i grew up on the haley mills one then it came out and i watched it. YESSS! definitely check out the og as well as pollyanna
How did I not see this video before. My favourite movie of all time
“Here comes the Sun” has some meta context to this movie the original Parent trap stared Hayley Mills, the song here comes the sun was written by Beatle George Harrison .. George Harrison was a friend of Hayley Mills mother and Father and in 1966 at the height of the Beatles fame he took The teenage Hayley to a Charity movie premiere as his plus one.. much to the jealousy of all Hayley’s friends and contemporary’s. Hayley always said it was one of the most special nights of her life and George and the Mills family remained close friends for the rest of his life.
If you haven't already, look up the Robot Chicken sketch pointing out how horrible the parents actually are to their daughters since it's very funny.
Martin the Butler is also in ‘Four Weddings and a Wedding’ and he’s equally hilarious in it.
Some of these camps are listed in high-end magazines. There are a lot of European kids who travel to North America to attend sleepaway camps. The activities are similar to what's in this film.
I love that you two are watching this together i love seeing you two react to movies together such a cute couple thing
When I saw that you guys were doing a reaction to this movie, I got so excited! This is one of my favourite Disney movies of all time. I know it word for word that’s how much I love it.
The older I get though, the more I wonder what really happened for Nick and Liz to decide their children‘s futures like that; especially considering it was the 80s-90s and I’m now a bit older than they were when they split up. Like, they each never wondered how the other twin was doing? They never wrote to each other to update them? We get little details like the fact that she threw a hairdryer but that’s it. And for Nick to marry someone after only 8 weeks and be completely oblivious to the fact that she is using him for his money. It would be a really sad kids movie if it ended with him choosing Meredith over them. I’d rather the ending Clariss suggested in that case😂
Also, Natasha Richardson who plays Liz passed away in 2009 after surgical complications during a ski accident. But I read recently that her children watch Parent Trap when they miss her because they say that of all her roles, Liz was the most similar to her in real life.
28:36 Awkward!!
30:50 he took a swim!
31:25 Twins!!
33:37 Naughty Tim!😂😂😂

This is my first time watching y’all. Y’all have great chemistry and I love watching your reaction to this classic comedy movie. I can’t wait to watch more of your reactions to various movies. 🍿 🎥 🎞️ 📺
If you enjoyed this one, look for their reaction to My Big Fat Greek Wedding!! That was my intro to them and I fell in love ❤️❤️
Annie's little pipsqueak friend that wanted to deck Hallie is played by the director's daughter, Hallie Meyers-Shyer, who is credited in the film as Lindsay.
classic movie
Definitely check out the 1961 original, it’s amazing that they really didn’t change much about the plot at all
The thing that always bugged me about this movie is that the Concorde never flew to or from San Francisco. Sonic booms mean it wasn't permitted to fly at supersonic speeds over land, you see.
Certified classics of the nineties. ❤
idea: It Takes Two 1995
I’ve been waiting for this
I LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH, this is one of my absolute favorite childhood films and it’s totally holds up. So fun to revisit it with you guys ❤️
You have to watch the original version starring Hayley Mills.
Pretty much everyone feels the same about the idea of splitting up the twins, but it's actually something that does happen and not just a long time ago, it's very rare which is why most people think the idea is crazy, but because it's so rare it makes for a good story for a movie.
Yes, remember of the series " Sister, Sister "
Ohh, you guys just touched my heart!! ❤❤😊 I'm glad you got to watch The Parent Trap for the first time together, it's one of my favorites from childhood, and a great movie with a wonderful cast, Lindsay Lohan in her first feature film and she absolutely nailed it! I agree with Clarisse, the soundtrack IS iconic and on point (I also love the side eye to the camera when Tim guesses what's going to happen next in the scenes), and I always loved Chessy! RIP to Natasha Richardson, she will always be like a queen in our hearts🕊️💐🪦 Ironically, Lisa Ann Walters and Elaine Hendrix became really great friends on set despite playing onscreen enemies, and even reenact some of their best lines on social media. I really appreciate you both, Tim and Clarisse!
This reaction is so good!!
Also watch the 1960s original movie, it’s pretty good
I watched this movie so many times, I started to make a game out of the number of hugs that occur throughout the movie.
I watched the parent trap and it was so funny and heartwarming.
Thanks you guys so very much i love the patient trap this one my favorite movies and i still enjoy watching it.😊
I love this movie instant classic love the channel
Maybe I'm wrong but there was no replacing the face of the double of Lindsay. From what I heard she acted both roles with the double, then they'd record Lindsay acting as the other "twin" (so where the double was on the first take) and then they'd join both recordings or something like that!
I remember i met this movie because of Disney Channel. Thanks, Timothee, and a happy thursday to you as well. Take care and God bless you, and greetings from Colombia
I loved this movie this is movie made me cry & the soundtrack was great
I loved being at camp as a kid, I had a chance to go, I got to go for 2 weeks not a whole summer.
this movie came out before I was born.
Timothee - "But do they know they're adopted?"
Me - What? Neither of them are adopted, what the heck are you talking about?
Chessy and Martin, might be my favorite characters lol. They are awesome.
You should do a reaction to "It takes two", similar to this movie but stars actual twins
PLEASE REACT TO "SPIRIT: STALLION OF THE CIMARRON"! It's a story about a strong, beautiful horse with a spirit that can never be broken.
I cry every time i watch it! It's a INCREDIBLE film, and the songs are so cool! But it's not a musical and the animals can't talk. 😭💔🔥
Second this!! Amazing film and beautiful story close to reality. "The story of the west told from a horse's perspective."
You should watch the original 1961 version.
My friends in elementary school: Why don’t you have pierced ears?
Me, flashing back to seeing this movie at six years old: 😨
Please tell me that I am not alone in discovering that Meredith's mom is actually the actress who played Vikki Robinson, the antagonist from the original Parent Trap starring Haley Mills! I guess Vikki Robinson found a guy to snare after all!
The original Parent Trap movie stars Hayley Mills who also stars in another childhood favorite of mine; Pollyanna PLEASE check out those movies!! 🙏🙏🙏
The movie reaction power couple is back again!👏
