@@MrArjol1 When I found out my husband had been cheating for years and had fallen in love with a married woman in another state, I listened to that song on repeat for months during my divorcing him. It was cathartic for sure. I still adore that song, years (and much more happiness) later.
most of us have had a similar experience.. deep passion and love for someone, deep hurt and deep empty sadness. All is gone and slowly forgotten. New lovers found, some leave an impression, some are blown away on the morning mist of forgetfulness.
Yeah its not so cute when you're in your forties though, just sick of it at this point. Part of me hates the fact that I have a good 20 years of memories, most of my adult life, listening to his songs wishing someone would just let me love them. Love is something we are all better without.
The Professor isn't bad, I think I would prefer it without La Fille Dance at the end (It's pretty, but I like them better separate, I just think the difference in tone is a bit jarring) Another of his songs I like a lot is the Box, but I think for me, my number 1 is Accidental Babies. #2 is this song, #3 is The Box, and #4 is Cheers Darlin', and The Professor is #5
Damien Rice... you sing every emotion I feel and I am simply lost in your lyrical comfort. Your music is beyond words and your delivery shakes me to my core.
In the first second I was like "famous blue raincoat!" and went and listened to it. Came back with an aching heart and the song only proceeded to break my heart even more 😭
the lyrics are so powerful. and damien's voice! somehow he manages to give me a certain feeling crawling up my back every single time he sings with emotion. cheers, vive la france, long live ireland!
I think so; there's also a little "Castles In The Air" - Colourfield in the vocal section. Beautiful passionate piece of music I'd not heard before, thank you
Can't begin to describe how much, or even why, this mans voice directly hits my heart strings. Leonard Cohen & Damien Rice.... close my eyes & feel everything but the music drift away 3
he has many many songs which are not released on any album... and even songs he only plays live and which were never recorded in a studio. but i think live he is even better than on the albums. so just listen and... enjoy. ;)
This song is like the English version of ‘Ne Me Quitte Pas’ by Jacques Brel. The amount of musical genius and rawness by these two men is out of this world! 😫😭💫
This man won't allow you get over a person.
Bruh frrrrr
100%
Damn, this is so true. Ffs
this commentary hurt me. so much reason here.
so true
I can literally hear the pain in his voice. He's so amazing

This man is such a master that even the stuff that doesn't make it onto his albums is gorgeous.
Ben Friesen his unreleased stuff is where the real extent of his talent lies in my opinion
@@Morgan-bo1mr well said
Where has this incredible man gone? I'd pay anything to hear more music from him. Praying he will tour the US.
It's like his music is meant to do justice to the emotions that come when you're drinking rum sitting alone late at night thinking a little too much.
tips fedora
Exactly! Whiskey for me!
Cherry Heering for me.... :)
Literally what I am doing now
it's true
Listened to this one yesterday, live at Carré, Amsterdam. Now I know what real magic looks and sounds like. Thank you, Damien 🙏🏼
I could listen to that voice all day any day..

This mans music is pure, raw, true talent- his depth of emotion is bottomless.
His music awakens all my senses
It's very emotional. Became my favourite song with "cheers darlin". Thank you Damien Rice)
Julie Navasardian cheers darling is my favorite too.
but accidental babies is best ever..
Agree)
Julie Navasardian my fav has to be The Professor, I cried listening to it the first time
The Professor isn't bad, I think I would prefer it without La Fille Dance at the end (It's pretty, but I like them better separate, I just think the difference in tone is a bit jarring)

Masterpiece, Mr. Rice.
"Never" ("Eve the Apple of My Eye") is still better...
Kat TheFanEnthusiast I disagree , but thanks for the opinion!
"Turn and walk away..." What a Fool I was for not walking away many moons ago.... Now I kneel and I cry...
Damien Rice... you sing every emotion I feel and I am simply lost in your lyrical comfort. Your music is beyond words and your delivery shakes me to my core.
2:49 won't you my love repeats it 3 times knowing the answer is no; that did it for me
Lyrical freaking genius.
I CAN FEEL THE PAIN ON HIS VOICE
I’m always amazed by how well he is received internationally. His voice/message is universal.
Such raw and rare talent! Addictive music!
Here is to Damien Rice and his triumphant return.
he is so irish, his song openings and melodies are so irish and god I love him
I honestly just got a shiver down my spine listening to this.
In the first second I was like "famous blue raincoat!" and went and listened to it. Came back with an aching heart and the song only proceeded to break my heart even more 😭
Balkans and Turks are so familiar with this kinda openings, It is perfect
Its French song
This is the pain that no hugs or kisses can ever heal. It is here to stay. This song woke up the deepest hidden places inside me. Thank you Damien.
Şu şarkıyı dinleyen insanlardan zarar gelmez, hiçbir zaman gelmemiştir daima hep zarar görmüştür
Dogru dostum 👌

Damien Rice - one of the most beautiful souls that exists in our time!
oh damien rice.ne diyeyim sana.her dinelediğimde seni yüreğim parçalanıyo,içim parçalanıyor...
I'd say it has a bit of Famous Blue Raincoat and Ne Me Quitte Pas.
+Marius Gabriel Lupu I thought it was FBR at first.
Yeah. The beginning is very similar to FBR. I thought the same.
Pretty sure he was humming FBR... maybe a bit of an homage?
I think so; there's also a little "Castles In The Air" - Colourfield in the vocal section. Beautiful passionate piece of music I'd not heard before, thank you
He was singing FBR and just blends into this song, if you listen his FBR cover you'll hear the intro in this song.
Can't get enough
I have no word to describe this feeling and warming in his voice
Addictive like fine wine
i love this one.... thats really so deep..
His voice as a swirl lingers in my mind! How beautiful and delicate....
tout ce que fait Damien Rice est magnifique , sa voix transmet une émotion et une mélancolie qui me touchent
Can't begin to describe how much, or even why, this mans voice directly hits my heart strings. Leonard Cohen & Damien Rice.... close my eyes & feel everything but the music drift away 3
The big hearts are the best musicians.
he has many many songs which are not released on any album... and even songs he only plays live and which were never recorded in a studio. but i think live he is even better than on the albums. so just listen and... enjoy. ;)
My favourite part of the world is this song.
Such a beautiful tortured soul.
