@@JPlaysDrums96 Disney has done everything in their power to chip away at the fabric of what is star wars in order to input their politics and agendas.
@@iggi3985why? Because they’re casting it without a Caucasian filter? Queer people and people of color have always existed. Are you mad that they didn’t ask you to be in the show instead? 😂😂😂
You can almost guarantee that anyone who was picked to watch advanced shows. Were picked for a reason and are going to shill for Disney. Now, if you are a REAL Star Wars fan, your going to completely hate everything about this series. 5 minutes in your going to be like WTF, And tune right out. There once was a time when Star Wars was considered the great uniter. People who didn't even know each other could come together over Star Wars. But now you have show runners, directors, and even Disney themselves. Telling fans, this isn't meant for you, move along. And the people it is meant for, don't even watch it.
Just not true 😂 That’s not how it works. I’ve been doing this as a hobby with no advance screenings for years. Eventually joined a critics association, which opened the doors to me getting early screeners from multiple studios, including Disney. I have peers who also review stuff, who also got early access and didn’t review this as well as I did. It’s all based on personal taste. I wasn’t picked or paid any money to watch this early. I am a REAL Star Wars fan. Always have been, always will be. I have dozens and dozens of videos to prove that. Not just reviews, but Star Wars fan events, etc. I know plenty of true fans who are loving the show thus far.
@@AnthonyAPerez Listen, I saw Star Wars sitting on the hood of my parents station wagon leaning against the windshield. I was in shock and awe through the entire film. And it would be several years before VHS would really kick off. And people would be able to own a copy of a film. And watch it whenever they wanted. So if you wanted to see a film again. you had to go back to the drive in to see it. And I forced my father to take me back to see this five Saturdays in a row. This is, at best, a Star Wars themed fan film parody. All you have to do is think on the classic scene between Vader and Motti. When he almost strangled him with just two fingers. But we are supposed to believe a single off center dagger. Thrown by a force sensitive, can kill a Jedi Master, seriously? How many EU novels have been written where Jedi went through far far worse and still survived. How many Blaster bolts have been deflected over the last 50+ years? But a Single dagger hits the mark and downs a master in one shot. And don't even get me started on the whole matrix kung fu. I half expect Neo to show up and join in on the fight. And that was just the first few minutes of the show. Now, you can say you enjoy Star Wars. But a FAN, would keep the lore in mind when watching. And call BS when it presents itself. And these first two episodes were chock full of BS. And from what I have been told, the third Episode is the one that will make the house of cards completely fall down. So I think I will check out now while I am only slightly scared.
@@robertmask2223 I have a similar experience with my initial love for Star Wars as a kid. While VHS was a thing in my youth, it still took a while to get it to VHS, in comparison to today. Look, in the end, I stated that there were goofy elements and things I didn’t love. If you didn’t like it and don’t want to watch anymore, then don’t. Star Wars has always had things that slightly conflict with a piece of lore established in other pieces of content, even if the Lucas era. The outrage around this is just so silly. There’s still more than half a season that needs to premiere. But if you don’t like it, move on. The OG stuff is still there for us to enjoy.
@@AnthonyAPerez Agreed, my only solace comes from knowing there wont be a second season of this. Unrelated, thank you for taking the time to respond to comments. That is rare in the TH-cam world. I commend you for that.
The best shortcut to see if anyone should pay attention to any Star Wars reviewer is their Last Jedi review. You really liked it, which is fine, but I’m out.
@@Hlbkomer I’ve loved Star Wars long before Disney’s involvement. Each installment has its positives and negatives. I don’t dislike it, as you clearly do. I’m not being played. I enjoy what I enjoy and don’t enjoy what I don’t. It’s a simple thing 🤷🏻♂️
Through doing this channel for a few years, I was able to to apply for my local critics association. Once I applied to them and got accepted, they connected me with the publishing reps that work for several studios, including Disney. I filled out some forms for them and now I get emails for invites to press screenings, as well as being sent digital screeners for review. The press screenings are usually in theaters and the digital screeners are the movie/show with a watermark of my email on the screen.
Comment section going bananas on this one, goodness gracious 🤣🤣 love you bro! Keep at it brotha 💪🏼 worlds most controversial starwars of all time, it’s “so bad” that it brought the community together according to every single review channel on TH-cam 💀 and fans as you know gave it an all time low rating to prove it, it’s actually ballsy to say the opposite so mad respect to you for not being afraid to share your own opinion 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 scary world out there to be true to yourself now a days 👀
Naw, there were many mistakes 😂 and I have a page of notes beneath me for every video. If I look to it, that’s usually when I have images and footage over me speaking.
It’s awesome that you got early access to this, man! People think it’s so cool to hate on things unnecessarily 😂 It’s also nice to hear that there was plenty more within the show than just what we’ve seen in previews (like majority of other things). Idc what anyone else says, I’m excited to watch the Acolyte series 🤷🏽♂️
I also just saw the first 4 episodes, its was incredible...Its inspired on true events of a certain Hollywood sex offender and his padawan...sorry, personal assistant.... amazing job! And soooo queer it was insane! It represented all Seatle, San Francisco and Portland! So brave....😎😎👍👍
Hey, I've got another question for you man. I've heard about the spoilers for tonight's episode and sounds like it might ruin the chosen one prophecy with Osha and Mae being conceived through the force. Do you feel like it ruins Anakin's role?
Personally, no. For me, Anakin was a birth through the force itself. The force birthed him to bring balance in the future, similar to God impregnating Mary with Jesus for him to die for people’s sins later on. With Osha and Mae, it feels far more like a form of witchcraft that manipulated the force to create life. Almost like a less sinister and dark version of the magic that the nightsisters use to bring the dead to life.
@@AnthonyAPerez Okay gotcha. Actually makes sense. You sure they're less sinister? Lol. I think I'm like you in the sense of it won't ruin Star Wars for me. I might actually enjoy the episode. Hopefully..
@@Spiritualwarriorrecovery It’s very possible that there’s more evil stuff happening behind what’s been shown so far, at least in the first four episodes. I hope you enjoy it! I’m sure many will be ready to hate.
@@AnthonyAPerez Yeah so honestly it wasn't a very good episode. It was alright. Yes thankfully it doesn't ruin Star Wars for me but it was kinda lame. I look forward to the 4th episode.
It's woke propaganda dude. If you want to invest your time in a girl brand that's your call but this is what kills Star Wars and is insulting. It's junk.
Saying this when we just had Bad Batch, Book of Boba Fett, and another season of Mando is crazy and shows you're just yapping. There's more than just men that exist. Get over yourself.
I was thinking of something yesterday. I don't like the new series, however there is something I would like to get more information on. I hear that in the next episode of this series two women give birth to someone using the force. At first I was like what the Hell! But then I thought back on Episode 1. When Qui Gon asked Shmi who Anakins father was. And she said there was no father. She carried, and conceived him. But apparently there never was an actual father. If its to be accepted that George himself wrote that the force created Anakin. Then perhaps these women having children using the force is not as far fetched as I first thought. I was reading somewhere, that George's original idea was that Sidious and Plaguis (two men) created Anakin using the force. This was an attempt to create life, and manipulate death. So, based on what I am thinking now. Maybe Lesley Headland is just adding more context to this idea. True it does play into her underlying personal narrative. But it is possible based on the first film. Would anyone be able to expand on this a bit that might know more than me.
Yeah, so I agree with your assessment. It felt very similar to me. They also classify themselves as witches, so it felt similar to the witches of Dathomir and the way they manipulate life.
@@AnthonyAPerez Yeah, that is what jumped out at me as well. They do have men in the circle for procreation. Men are considered the underlings of their society. So they do get it on to have more children. BUT, based on the above. It is not outside of the realm for them to posses this type of power. After all, the witches entire coven is based on the manipulation, and use of the force. Old Daka's claim to fame was that she could reanimate the dead. So being able to use the force to fertilize an egg in a women seems doable.
@@robertmask2223 Agreed! I already know that the third episode will make many roll their eyes, but I don’t think it disrespects the lore, as many have claimed. As I said in this review, that episode is what I found the most goofy.
This is the first positive review that I've seen. Kind of refreshing, but it doesn't help in the long run. The show looks cheap, though the fight scenes are cool, but the acting and makeup on certain characters are absolutely terrible. I will hold off on my own opinions for the next few episodes, but from what I've heard then it's only going to get worse. Disney has lost sight of what Star Wars is, especially with the Force. Lucas said it himself. It's just not good, but I appreciate your optimism. Keep on keeping on.
Appreciate your balanced comment, my friend! I will say, as I mentioned, the third episode had goofy elements and performances I wasn’t in love with. So, I’m expecting next week’s episode to be divisive. I don’t feel the show looks cheap, but I appreciate your different take. I think, at the end of the day, we all wish Lucas had stayed in control. But he chose not to, and I just try to enjoy what’s made instead of just be upset that it isn’t him. If he’d been kicked out of his company, I’d feel some type of way. Not every choice hasn’t been my favorite, but I just wish Lucas had made the new stuff himself.
If someone thinks this show works than they are a fan of Disney, not a fan of Star Wars. This actively destroys everything Star Wars encompasses and stands for while rewriting the films. This is literally the opposite of Star Wars. If you like it that's fine. But this is not Star Wars.
I don’t agree and that’s fine. To say this actively destroys what Star Wars encompasses is wildly hyperbolic. You could say that about countless things in Star Wars, both in the Disney era and the Lucas era. Growing up as a kid, I heard similar thoughts about many of the Legends material that is now looked at with more love. If you don’t enjoy the show, that’s totally fine. That’s life.
@@AnthonyAPerez It's not hyperbolic to say the Sith were not around nor had they encountered any Jedi for over a millennia in TPM. This takes place 100 years before TPM. So it is a major retcon. So either this show is correct, or the actual Star Wars films are correct, you can't have both. They also make the Force female in this show. The force has no gender. That is the core of Star Wars and it is being trashed for the feminist showrunners ideology. Thats why they have lesbian witches who make a baby. The Sith are the victims of oppression, ect. ect... Even Lucas has stated this is not what Star Wars is and that Disney went off the rails. But I am glad you found some enjoyment in it. For me, I pay no attention to books are cartoons because the core is the film and that is what I fell in love with. To each there own.
@@Elemental_Entity But we don’t fully know the context of the dark side user here. Once the show is over, or at least the first season, we can make those judgements. Sure, the Jedi hadn’t encountered a Sith in a millennia until TPM, but who’s to say this “Sith” becomes known the Jedi. Part of what make their story interesting is that they’re a flawed system, which leads to their downfall and the empire’s rise. Maybe they don’t want to cause panic, so they don’t bring the news of the “Sith” back to the Jedi. They’re already keeping what’s happening a secret from the high council. There’s still a lot of variable. Obviously, most of what’s happened wasn’t Lucas’ plan. I wish he’d continued Star Wars himself, but he didn’t. So, I just try to enjoy and not enjoy whatever comes out on a case by case basis. As for the force being “female”, I didn’t get that feeling at all. We’ve seen witches tap into different types of magic and sorcery before, so this feels no different to me. Nothing about it feels like a retcon of what’s been established.
@@Elemental_Entityno it means the Jedi were over confident. The Jedi "thought" there hadn't been sith since sidious.....well who trained him and his master? The sith were around but just on secret. The Jedi got overconfident so they assumed if there was a sith, they'd sense it. RETCONNING ANYTHING IN THE PREQUELS IS OK. They were never masterpieces and offered the worst retcons in cinema history. Midichlorians? Darth Vader inventing C3po? You're getting so pissed over something that's not a retcon yet you're letting shittier retcons slide? Man you fans are either delusional.
@@mania4270 The Sith were in hiding for for over 1,000 years. They weren't out KILLING JEDI... In which other Jedi would have sensed it. THEY WERE IN HIDDING! Thats why the Jedi thought they died. They were not over confident. They just hadn't ECOUNTERED a Sith in a millennia. The Prequels are a continuation from the inventor who created it all. Like it or not, they are core canon and are far better and more relevant than what we have now. Anakin assembling 3PO didn't retcon anything. Nor did Midichlorians. You can do all the mental gymnastics you want to justify these lazy retcons Disney has done, in the end, they are still retcons. Oh, BTW, now according to this shows creator, R2-D2 is a lesbian. If your willing to throw away what Lucas created to justify this crap, you are NOT a fan!!
Look I get it man, you want to continue to be invited back. Although I agree about the cinematography being cool, the writing is a little off and characters seem to contradict what the Jedi of this time are suppose to be like. The story is just so bland; twins fighting against each other, character dialogue not doing enough to build characters and the way Tobin was “assassinated” was so stupid.
It’s still early, as I said. There’s potential for some of those underdeveloped elements to be fleshed out. As for the first part about me wanting to be invited back. I’ve been doing this channel LONG before I was ever sent anything early. Plus, I had a lot of positivity for Star Wars long before I ever started this channel. We just have different outlooks, and that’s totally okay. Sorry you’re not enjoying it! It’s not perfect, but I’m enjoying it so far.
Thats so awesome that Disney is acknowledging you and able to send you screeners, been curious about this one especially because the timeline is focused on the high republic era, awesome to hear that the hand to hand combat was really good def excited to check it out tonight but will have to keep an eye out on that 3rd episode with the goofy stuff great review man
Glad you liked it!! As with other Disney+shows recently, I’m a little disappointed because I think that the writing and pacing is not very good, but I’ve only seen the first two episodes of course. It seems like they rushed this. Feels like a first draft of a script. I like the characters of Sol and Mae/Osha. Let’s hope they stick the landing :)
I will say that the next two episodes slow down a bit to expand on characters, but I can appreciate your outlook. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts!
Completely agree the story and writing is so lame, and how/what they do to push the plot forward you get this sense of like it’s being rushed. Episode 3 I heard is was will really turn true fans off
@@coops074 haha I also heard the rumors about episode 3 and how it will END Star Wars. I have to say, I’m curious to see what they did that is pissing some people off. Even if it’s bad, we survived a lot of mid-shows and movies over the last ten years. I think we can survive the Acolyte. So far it’s a 6.5/10 for me after two episodes, but hey anything’s possible. I think Disney has made worse sw content than this tbh AND I wished they had hired writers who knew how to tell the story they are trying to tell. So far the writing, not the plot, is my biggest problem
I like the idea of it but really the major issue for me is they dont make you care about the characters before they kill them and it just seems very corny to me but i hope it gets better
I feel you. I’m sure I’d feel similarly with only the first two episodes. The third is mostly flashback, showing these Jedi and why they’re being hunted. So, it adds more narratively. I will say, I think the story is doing more for the characters we’re following, more so than the characters that are being hunted. You make fair points though! Thanks for stopping by!
Hell yeah brotha! You deserve these early reviews and it’s GREAT to hear I can watch this without having seen a million Star Wars projects beforehand 😂
It’s still early, but I’d say I’ve enjoyed it a lot more than Book of Boba Fett so far, but not as good as the first season of Mando yet. But that’s just personal taste, I suppose. That’s not counting the animated stuff though, which I do love deeply.
I clearly heard what you said, even the best series or movies has some negative points but there were none here at all, nada 100 percent gush 😂😂 force is now created by coven of lesb witches that gave birth to the twins😂😂. " Can not be hurt by steel" ummmmmmm matrix trinity jedi dead 😂😂
@@allthings1036 Huh? I literally had a section where I discussed the my negatives after I spoke about the characters 😂🤷🏻♂️ Silly Willy! And the force is not created by a coven 😂 You’re acting like we’ve never seen magic or alterations of the force through witches in Star Wars before 😂😂
I think they stated they aren't using any characters from previous starwars movies/shows. They wanted everything to be completely new which I can respect. I guess they want as much room as possible to try new things and experiment which I like.
I really hope you respond to my comment. I’d love to have a civilized conversation about your views on this product of Star Wars. Because you are the only person. And I mean literally I’ve been searching long and hard for people who like this show. No one in the LGBTQIA+. Feminist. Woke activist groups approve of this. No Star Wars fan. Nothing and no one are here to support this show. And the entire fanbase is saying this show is completely destroying the meaning of Star Wars. So please, enlighten me on what is good about this series and anything positive it is doing for Star Wars.
I mean, I’ll start by saying that’s it’s brand new. This hasn’t become my favorite series or an absolute staple of Star Wars. I’m not claiming that here. I think I break down exactly what I’m enjoying or find intriguing about the show thus far. Now that the third episode is out, I’m sure it doesn’t surprise you when I mentioned there are goofy elements of that episode that I didn’t enjoy. For me, I don’t look at this through the lense of what community it may be attempting to serve, but just how it connects to me. For me, there’s an interesting story being told that feels different to the others received. With four episodes to go, I think there’s a lot of potential for this to be a strong Star Wars story. The best? No, but it’s well made and well acted thus far. Some story elements haven’t been my favorite, but as someone who keeps up with tons of Star Wars stories in different mediums, I don’t need every one to be a home run. As for no Star Wars fans enjoying this show, I’ll have to say that’s just not true. I’ve seen tons of hate and love for the show online. I think the reality is that the haters online tend to be more ruthless and persistent, so it seems louder. And look, that’s not to say that maybe this show as a whole isn’t connecting with the fanbase. But we’ve been here before and will again once this blows over. For me, it hasn’t “ruined” Star Wars as many claim, so I guess you can say that I’m open to seeing where it goes and have connected with it so far. While we disagree on the show, likely, I do appreciate you coming here with some respect and a desire for discourse. I do my best to keep up with comments, so feel free to reply.
Thank you! All of the episodes ranged from 30-45 minutes. I want to say that the fourth episode was about 42 minutes or so. And yeah, I really enjoyed that episode! It left me excited to see episode 5.
Finally someone just watching and judging the show for what it is. You are the first channel I've seen to review this series and show it some appreciation. I'm struggling to see the issue most fans are having. Thank you for such an honest review. Can't wait for the rest :)
Thanks so much! As you can see, I’m getting destroyed in these comments 😂 So, I appreciate you stopping by and sharing your thoughts kindly! I hope you enjoy what’s to come!
The textbook shill for clout scenario. You sir, need to get a real job. 2 k Disney bot subs and four episodes in advance for the promise of a glowing disingenuous book report. Bet you are blue pill too.
You people are so pathetic 😂 I have a real job. Look at the views on this channel… you think this is my job? This is a hobby I do often enough to have gained a little early access after years of doing this. This is not how I pay bills. Being a shill would imply that Disney paid me for a positive review. They didn’t. I can’t even pretend that they offered. They sent out the first four episodes to people with critic association connections. If you didn’t like the show, that’s fine. I don’t give a shit about clout 😂
You did nothing but spew buzz word garbage. Bold to assume something about someone you don't know in an attempt to feel some sort of accomplishment in your life
Another original comment 😂 not one cent. This is a hobby, bud. Look at the views on this channel. You think I’m making big money for a review on a small channel? 😂 I’m literally replying to you at my day job.
Star wars is not The matrix or kill Bill. This foo force is some nonsense. This television series is a train wreck. The Jedi are so predictable. In George Lucas Star wars The Jedi Knight are unpredictable. In George Lucas Star wars The Jedi Knight would have never got killed by a dagger. The high Republic is some nonsense no one bought their books the traditional Star wars fans saw through this crap. Star wars is completely dead. After two episodes. 👎👎👎
Making a judgement on an entire show with only two episodes is silly to me. I don’t agree with your take, but that’s okay. Sorry the show isn’t for you.
Mathematically you are correct it is nonsense, the only people giving it good reviews are people that get special screening access. And wait till you see the next episode then your assumptions will be validated., the cast is not strong and horrible writing that one they fell off the cliff by backing up and they weren’t even pressing her or them or they ,, the one Jedi told the other guy he could not go after his trany then says small team 😂😂 I guess he talked it into very quickly.
I honestly didn’t think so. As I mentioned in this review, it had some goofy elements and some child acting that wasn’t my favorite, BUT I did like it. It’s mostly a flashback episode that gives us insight into the upbringing of Osha & Mae. It also gives us more insight into Mae’s motivation around hunting these specific Jedi. I can imagine it’ll be divisive, but I think some of the early reactions from people hearing about it has been overblown. I don’t wanna spoil it for you, but they come from a group of women who specifically call themselves witches. Some are saying that they rewrite or “ruin” the force, but they don’t. For me, it felt similar to the witches of Dathomir.
I fucking loved what I saw and love how the fight scenes feels like a combat style with matrix vibes and the big mystery surrounding the show this has me excited great review man keep up the great work dude
This comment section is rough. I’m gonna be honest, there’s no reason to get *this angry* because someone who likes Star Wars reviewed the new Star Wars thing 😂😂😂 If you don’t want to watch it, why do you even care it’s being reviewed by someone who does? Y’all are so quick to descend into madness every time they make a new Star Wars thing. Stop it. Go take a nap 😂😂
@@AnthonyAPerez I told you I would!!! You make good videos, man. Not everything needs to be about drawing a line in the sand and picking a side, and I’m tired of seeing content like that. Healthy discourse is lit.

The minute you stated you received episodes 1-4 for viewing, I knew you were gonna put the kid gloves on and give the series a soft critique. I've only seen episodes 1-2 and that's all I needed to see to know that this is garbage. Like you stated in comments below, if I don't like it, don't watch it. That's fair enough. But the problem is I WANT to watch more Star Wars. I want to continue to enjoy stories that either continue the legacy or tell great independent stories. The reason some fans seems so angry is that we are passionate about the lore. Of course it hurts us to see something we love and cherish get destroyed by poor writing, poor acting and most egregious of all, a social agenda. Star Wars and all movies in general are first and foremost an escape from reality. Of course they are also a cultural mirror of the time they are produced in, but when issues of the time are wrapped in a good story, we the audience don't notice and that's the point. That's why Star Wars and Star Trek are so successful. They can talk about social issues in a way the audience needs to decipher. When showrunners sit on panels and openly state they are going to force an issue down the fans' throats, then yes backlash is to be expected. We are all fans and I hope the comments stay as respectful as you have been.
Hey Well, I can certainly appreciate your outlook. I appreciate your love for the franchise and wanting to see more that you love from it. With that said, I didn’t put on kid gloves for this review. I’ve been doing this as a hobby for a good few years, and eventually got access to a lot of movies/shows early from different studios. And I still do. I’ve very openly been critical of so many movies and shows that I’ve been sent. Thankfully, even ones I trash still send me their stuff. So, I have no real need to be fake for any one studio. Truthfully, I love Star Wars with all of my heart. With every project, there are things I dislike, but I just truly love being in the universe. Contradictions happen, even in the Lucas era. Sometimes subtle, and sometimes it’s something that bugs me. In a normal discussion in person, we’d probably find that we have a lot of similar Star Wars takes. As for this show, while I don’t think it’s perfect and have said that here, I definitely don’t agree that it’s garbage. It’s not my favorite thing, but I think there’s great potential based on the episodes I’ve seen. Especially with the fourth episode. I’m excited to see what happens. Anyway, thanks for watching and chiming in.

You can assume I’ve sold out, but this is a hobby 😂 I’ve been doing this for a while. Nothing about giving this show is a sell out. I’ve reviewed tons of Disney or Star Wars projects. I don’t always give good reviews for everything. This is just my personal opinion. That’s how art works.
The high Republic is garbage. Objectively the books I read feel like they are after school teen novels or something. After reading Star wars books for probably 20 years none of the high Republic books feel like Star wars it feels like a completely different series. I'm not enjoying the acolyte either. I don't care whether the leads or male female or whatever I just don't feel like the writing is very strong cinematography was good but it just isn't very well written story is kind of boring. And the premise is downright ridiculous. Especially how the twins were acting makes no sense in context unless I'm missing something.
Well, there’s more to come. Hopefully you can enjoy it more as time goes on. And if you don’t, that’s okay. I can’t agree about THR being garbage, but that’s the subjective nature of art. If it’s not for you, I can respect that.
@@AnthonyAPerez subjectivity is sort of a cop out. Bad movies and bad books have been made, they exist. Anything is subjectively good, which is actually an indictment on this series as a whole considering that there is no right and wrong in the universe. This child had a bad experience in the past so murdering a bunch of people is completely understandable. The high Republic isn't a popular series for a reason. It didn't get the praise of some of the more popular titles including thrawn or some of the Old Republic stuff. I'm not being subjective I'm objectively looking at how people are talking about the series. I'm comparing it to other works in the Star wars universe. Subjectively someone can say the last trilogy (I shall not write its name)movie is good. However from a critical standpoint I don't really see how that's possible if we're using the rules for a general audience in modern-day cinema. Saying something is subjective is like the popularity of participation trophies. You didn't win , ust because you hand me this thing doesn't change the reality. The marvels was a subjectively good movie even though it performed poorly for some strange reason. Because objectively it was bad.
@@rdavidsmith Using the “rules” of the general audience don’t matter. It’s all subjective. I think you look at the numbers you see online and feel as though that paints a depiction of everyone’s opinions. The Last Jedi is a good example. Critically well received, a lot of the general audience didn’t agree. However, it would be foolish to say that no one likes The Last Jedi, because part of the craziness around that film was how divided people were. I don’t think something has to be enjoyed by everyone to be good TO YOU, or bad to you. It’s all based on taste. That’s where guilty pleasures come into play, “so bad it’s good”, or even just a movie/book/show that makes you say “I really like this! I don’t get the hate!”. I’m sure you’ve had that moment. We all have. And that’s okay, bro. If you disagree with me, that’s okay. I don’t think I’m copping out or whatever. I liked the show so far and it always bums me out to hear that others don’t like something that I do. That just means we have a different take on this though. I’m sure if you find a review for a movie that you like on my channel, we’d find more similarities than not. Anyway, it is what it is, bro. I appreciate you watching the video and sharing your thoughts. Positive or negative.
Nope. I’ve been doing this as a hobby for years. Eventually got connected with the people who give early screeners for multiple studios or streamers. While I enjoyed this, I’ve been far more negative about things Disney has sent to me, same with other studios. Good or bad reviews, they still send me the stuff. What reason would I have to shill? 😂 It ain’t that deep. If you didn’t like it, that’s cool. That’s the subjective nature of art.
@@AnthonyAPerez what reason have you got to shill? You just outlined it in your own reply. Contacts and access. But that’s ok bud, grind away as you put out rubbish takes. I’m sure going off your view counts that you might eventually get someone that agrees with you to watch your videos. People like you don’t make Disney better, you just reinforce their push to destroy Star Wars.
@@iggi3985 you missed the point, clearly. I have given negative reviews COUNTLESS times to projects from various studios. And they STILL send me their stuff 🤷🏻♂️ I have zero fear of being honest. To say I’m shilling with this silly little channel that makes me hardly any money with ads is hilarious. Sorry man, but Star Wars today is nothing but an old rusty bucket full of social-political puke and sh*t. Wanna check out some real "interpretation" of Star Wars? Then just watch some of these cinematics from "The Old Republic" game: th-cam.com/video/7szRTHRg04Q/w-d-xo.html Star Wars is about the way characters talk, move, behave, towards friends and foes alike. It is about clothes, architecture, design of Weapons, aircrafts. Everything has fit. Literally nothing in the new tv shows and movies fit. And so help me God I am so open and hopeful for new stories in the Star Wars universe to be shot, but what I have seen so far is nothing but a cheap knock off...
Well, sorry to hear you aren’t enjoying. I can’t say I agree with your points about the designs of the world not fitting. Especially since MANY of the artist responsible for newer character designs, costume designs, etc, are many who worked alongside George. As for that cinematic from The Old Republic. Great game, and I love those cinematics. While those are awesome, action isn’t what Star Wars is all about. And politics have been a central theme of Star Wars from the very start.
Crazy how you tear down this project then try to use the old republic in the same breath. Just because this project centers women doesn't make it any worse
@@AnthonyAPerez if that is the case, I cannot explain why I do not get the feeling of being drawn into the story, maybe the elements are not added together properly...idk, let me put it this way: To me It feels like power rangers meets Highschool musical. (no disresepct towards power rangers ^^!)
This show is hot garbage. Disney sucks bad. Multiple characters can be impaled by light sabers and survive….this kung-fu jedi gets a tiny dagger in the chest and drops dead. Fire in space, jedi as cops, etc. this is smooth brain entertainment at its worst. Enjoy it now….hopefully this is the end of Lucasfilm.
@@AnthonyAPerez I don’t even watch the original trilogy anymore. We use to watch it annually in my home but, since the sequel nightmare trilogy we are done. Have moved on to bigger and better IP’s. It really sucks growing up and watching all the franchises we loved as nerdy kids in the 80’s turned into agenda driven tripe.
Seeing some of the negative/ignorant comments has me…Puzzled. Let me add my two cents to help clear up the ignorance: Star Wars is a franchise. How a person celebrates said franchise is up to them. NOT you. After all, you don’t go into a franchise restaurant & tell customers what items to get off the menu to proof they’re a “true” fan of said restaurant in your eyes, right? Same thing’s applicable here. If you don’t want to give the show a shot, that’s fine. Go watch whatever (insert “true”) Star Wars content that makes you happy. Spreading negativity simply showcases your own close mindedness without allowing more view points, which is anti-art.
Grow a spine for sharing an opinion? This the kind of dude that hides behind a keyboard but won’t say that face to face with anyone in real life, you remind me of the soft tissue paper I white my butt with. I mean no disrespect btw just making an obvious observation 🙌🏼
Star Wars has been outright vandalized. Leslie Hedlun felt like destroying something beautiful and that’s what she did.

Hopefully..

1-4? I'm so sorry.
Huh?

Finally, a rational Star Wars fan!
Cool review
Although I agree about the cinematography being cool, the writing is a little off and characters seem to contradict what the Jedi of this time are suppose to be like.
The story is just so bland; twins fighting against each other, character dialogue not doing enough to build characters and the way Tobin was “assassinated” was so stupid.
It’s still early, as I said. There’s potential for some of those underdeveloped elements to be fleshed out. As for the first part about me wanting to be invited back.
Nice review 👍 And can I ask what the runtime was of ep.4 and was it any good?
Thank you! All of the episodes ranged from 30-45 minutes. I want to say that the fourth episode was about 42 minutes or so. And yeah, I really enjoyed that episode! It left me excited to see episode 5.
Maaaaan, like what u like fam, F what these ninjas in the comments talking about!!!
Amen, brotha! Appreciate it!
Finally someone just watching and judging the show for what it is. You are the first channel I've seen to review this series and show it some appreciation. I'm struggling to see the issue most fans are having. Thank you for such an honest review. Can't wait for the rest :)

Bold to assume something about someone you don't know in an attempt to feel some sort of accomplishment in your life
Boy how much Disney paying u to shill out on this?
And wait till you see the next episode then your assumptions will be validated., the cast is not strong and horrible writing that one they fell off the cliff by backing up and they weren’t even pressing her or them or they ,, the one Jedi told the other guy he could not go after his trany then says small team 😂😂 I guess he talked it into very quickly.
bro is just yapping. I guarantee you haven't seen a single episode
Is episode 3 really THAT bad? I've actually heard a couple people say it's good. I understand it's going to be controversial.
I’m glad I’m not alone 😂 Thanks bro!

Hey
Well, I can certainly appreciate your outlook.
@@AnthonyAPerez appreciate the response and really appreciate not being called toxic or racist for not liking something. As I said if it's badly written and acted then it's bad, plain and simple. We are fans and we will always be united in that. Peace and continued success with your channel!

Ah, yes… the shill comment.
My friend, I wish I could say I’m being paid in any capacity to even be a shill, but I’m not. This is just a hobby. I make chump change via ads on TH-cam, but it ain’t really much. Disagree with my take, that’s fine by me.
@@AnthonyAPerez liar.
less than 3k subs but got advanced screening to make a review? I call bs
You can call BS all you want. I’ve been doing this for a while. Some videos do well, some bomb. I eventually applied for a critics association in my area. After being voted in by the members, I got connected with the publicist that a handful of studios work with for early access screenings and screeners. Disney is one of them. I’ve been doing it for a while and have a bunch of reviews for things I got to see early. My latest review for Bad Boys 4 was the same deal. I have zero reason to lie. Most of my time on TH-cam has been without early access.
The Acolyte hasn't premiered yet, but I am already exhausted by online bickering and speculation. 🤦
Yeah, this video alright has a bunch of dislikes from folks I’m sure didn’t care to even watch 😂
@@AnthonyAPerez So fascinating to read all the anger for a difference of opinion, as if theirs meant anything. Great review! It was honest and I enjoyed your passion for the franchise, much more appealing than a hate filled review. You have a new subscriber, keep on keepin' on.

How original
@@AnthonyAPerez when its the truth, no need for orignality. No real critque of substance. The show looks cheapish. 3rd episode changes Star wars role. and the typical Disney focrced diversity before telling a good story are quite evident.
@@ScrotieMcBooger I don’t agree. The show definitely does not look cheap, so that’s a funny comment. As for the “truth”. Being a shill would imply that I’m making money for reviewing this. Disney ain’t paying me a damn thing. I cover many of their movies and shows that I have criticized. So, yeah.. zero originality. The third episode doesn’t change Star Wars’ role at all. Silly early judgement based on what you’ve read about. Either way, be on your way. Don’t watch it 🤷🏻♂️
@@AnthonyAPerez being a shill doesnt mean you make money. Look up the defenition. You gave a favorable review of last Jedi which is universally considered dog shit. You shill, because you want disney to give you access to future things, like this. Maybe you actually like what Disney is doing to Star Wars, but most fans dont. The numbers of people enjoying and watching also dont lie.
@@ScrotieMcBooger You’re looking at it through a small microscope. All of the sequel trilogy films made over a billion dollars… I am actually a fan of what they’ve done, but I’ve also had criticisms of all. No Star Wars project is perfect, not even my favorites. I just don’t care to rant and whine about things that I disliked. I can disliked elements of things I still overall enjoy. I don’t shill because I want an early access. I’ve been a fan of Star Wars and what they’ve been doing since before I even had a channel. I started this as a way to discuss tv and film. I have COUNTLESS videos on here with other TH-cam movie reviewers where we’ve completely disagreed on movies. Both on my channel and on other’s channels. In the end, I’m being myself and being true to my opinion. To sum that up as “shilling” is just hilariously silly, just because you disagree with my take. There’s plenty of people disagreeing with my take, so go support them. I’m sure they’d love the support and new audience member. I can respect anyone disliking anything, but to assume I have some agenda is just ridiculous. I have no connections to Disney or Lucasfilm. I’m in a critics association that has given me access to the publicist they work with to get early access content out there. Disney themselves don’t know who I am. And no matter how many people want to say online that no one cares about Star Wars anymore, there’s still millions who love what’s coming out. You can go to Star Wars celebration, one of the theme park expansions, etc, and find countless fans of the new stuff. If you don’t like it, that’s totally fine. Just move on and/or revisit the stuff that sings to you.
it was crap beyond belief.
Sorry to hear you didn’t like it.
Jesús dude way to sell out
You can assume I’ve sold out, but this is a hobby 😂 I’ve been doing this for a while.
Going off the size of your channel, shilling is the name of the game. Such a shame, sold yourself out for access.

Sorry man, but Star Wars today is nothing but an old rusty bucket full of social-political puke and sh*t. Wanna check out some real "interpretation" of Star Wars? Then just watch some of these cinematics from "The Old Republic" game:
th-cam.com/video/7szRTHRg04Q/w-d-xo.html
Star Wars is about the way characters talk, move, behave, towards friends and foes alike.

@@fightindice6227 Well, at least you have those new IPs that you prefer now!
Seeing some of the negative/ignorant comments has me…Puzzled. Let me add my two cents to help clear up the ignorance: Star Wars is a franchise. How a person celebrates said franchise is up to them.
