If you asked Tyler and Hoang where’d they got the Etemon tech. One name should come to light
Devil's advocate why 8 ukkomon isn't the crux of the issue. Many decks run ukko in place of a standard rookie line up and aren't issue decks, it is the fact that Numemon doesn't lean on a rookie being a I just play my lvl4 for 3 memory aggro deck. If numemon had been addressed before or quickly after getting 8 ukkomon I think the discussion of ukkomon would be a lot less than what it is.
We also need to look across metagames to form holistic predictions for Bandai's decisions. Ukkomons are also being played in multiple future archetypes including Blue and Red Hybrid Ancients, so choice restricting is not the way Bandai would go in regards to Ukkomon. Promo Ukko is the strongest card across the span of a game, so I'd say it's the most likely one to get restricted if they only hit one Ukko. Lui is also a problem in regards to sneaking out additional attacks, gaining memory advantage, and promoting loops in decks like AncientGaruru Turbo in JP so its quite possible/likely we see Lui get hit as well. BT16 Ukko could get hit but odds are that Bandai avoids that course of action. We will likely see a banlist announcement sometime mid-July so they can sell their Premium Bandai drops that include Lui and Ukkomon then bombshell them.
Promo Ukkomon helps keep tempo mid to late game. You really only need bt16 ukko earliy game. Onces you have hand and board established, promo is the card you always want to see

How about banned pair Etemon and Valk? The deck runs super agro with removal at the bottom end regardless, so people will just go back to WaruMonzaemon. I would hate for them to hit either Ukkomon. Not that anyone is really playing it, but it makes a fun BigUkkomon deck almost unplayable and the ukkos make some other decks competitive that wouldn't be otherwise.
Even if we get a ban list and restric Numemon X or Monzamon X , the deck will still be strong cause they will swap Numemon for Sukamon and Monzamon for Etemon, and with the upcoming ACE cards like ShadowSeraphimon and Dynasmon we expect to still see black/yellow decks on top of the tier list. So I guess the main issue right now, is Etemon (EX5) cause Valkyriemon ACE just clean the board so easily. Unless your playing with Tyrant and you already have a stable board, your gonna have a hard time against those ACE cards, sadly most of the other decks can't really answer the start of main phase counter ACE. the problem is magna gatekeeping all the decks that can fight nume. i wouldn’t hit etemon because he’s so crucial for other decks to deal with magna. etemon into vike is something devas/dark masters/many other decks can tech in to pop magnas

@@digiguardunited IMO rapidX bunnies, ruin mode turbo, yellow vaccine builds that focus on kari/revelation, imperial with giga death or bt12 fighter mode all have a slightly plus matchup against nume
other decks can fight somewhat evenly with nume, such as bt15's heavy hitters devas, mirage, levia, and there are some lower tier decks like rosemon and gallant with crimson blaze that can give nume a rough time.
i've personally had success with dark masters because vikemon stuns their ukkos from swinging for a turn, giving me time to set up mercy mode plays which resets their trash and bott decks their big bodies before floating triggers. i'm also copying that one LatAm list that topped a while ago that ran deathX's instead of alter-B's so clearing nume boards isn't a problem for my list.
the problem is that a lot of the decks mentioned get gatekept so hard magnaX
might be a hot take, but i'm way more optimistic about fighting the nume matchup than i am about magnaX
The problem is both.
Numemon gatekeeps on one end; while MagnaX gatekeepe out the control decks which could stop Numemon.
I didn’t notice that Monzae X dropped any level 3 until yesterday in testing.
Just no.
Promo Ukko is definitely the bigger problem, along with Lui.
