I always thought so: I like the song, but the final result was very overproduced, and Michael's fragments to give him more participation in the song seem too "copy and paste" to me. It is noticeable that there are Michael's screams that were put in those parts of the song in the production stage, and not when he was singing it. Something a little more organic and more instrumental would have been better.

That lot of "yeahh", "yehhh" "hold my haaaaaaaaahhh", from Michael, you can tell that they were put later, in production, where they believed they needed to fill spaces. I'm not saying that Michael didn't sing them, but that they cut and pasted them. It still sounds overproduced, instead of more raw and natural, like MJ liked. It's not a song to dance to, so something with a slower pace like Will You Be There would have been better.
