This is a collaboration between @imblackberri and me, this is something I've been considering for a little bit then BlackBerri was like I'm gonna make a concept v3. Then we collaborated and BlackBerri did the instrumental and I did the Vocals liked it so much that it's now the official v3!!!!!

For those who didn’t read the description, this was composed by SamiiWave. I only made the vocal composition. That’s why it sounds different from my usual style, but that doesn’t matter because this song is a banger and I’m really proud of what Samii and I made together.

I love the Followed motif that shows up at 1:10, now both Shadows reference each other’s songs briefly and I think that’s nice

Hey, saw that there's been people shitting on this for literally no reason. This is a great remake for Lurking and slaps more than the others. I hope you, Kiwi, Samii and the rest of the Ourple devs don't let people's negativity get to ya. Cuz I love this mod and all the work you guys put into it, and I'm sure others do too.
It happens, this doesn’t really phase me much honestly but that’s okay. This collaboration with Samii was really fun to do and we made this for ourselves, v3 wasn’t even planned which made it even more fun lmao. We’re both extremely happy with how it turned out.
But it do appreciate what you said it means a lot to me and I’m sure Samii would agree.
It may be since the old ones were better in beats, thats not to say I hate V3 lurking, in fact I love it, but I do perfer the older ones

1 year late to the 3rd version of this song and I have ONLY NOW realized the opening/main vocal motif of this song is definitely based on Bonnie's Lullaby, which is retrospectively really obvious AND kinda emotional.
I've always championed Lurking as one of my favorites in Ourple, and this musical detail just puts it further up in my rankings.

This is a really great version of Lurking! While I prefer the slightly more haunting tone v2 was going for, that's not to downplay v3 and how good it is! This version is a lot more groovy, and while it doesn't fit Shadow Bonnie as well as v2 or v1, it's a much better track regardless of that!

Regardless of what anyone says, you guys did wonderful on this track! Absolutely in love with the updated instrumental, and the vocals sound like they'll be a very fun chart to play :D makes me very hyped up for v3 as a whole.

@@headdzo I understand that yeah, but I'm asking more on why it sounds so different from the original one. I get the change was necessary, but it still makes me confused as to why it sounds like something's missing. I don't really know the technicalities that go into chromatics, so I'm just curious. I don't ask to be rude, I just want to understand properly.

@@somethingforsenro I don't really know what you mean, as I thought the compressions mentioned were an actual file issue rather than a sound thing. But I appreciate the input regardless.
@@triple_tsuchinoko by "compressed sound" i mean the filter effect that was removed in v3. it was probably removed because it doesn't allow for very long notes; it would just sound worse if they tried to do the long notes with shadow bonnie's old voice. even if this sounds empty, it's better than the alternative. unfortunately, that happens a lot with chromatics.
The second lurking is more intense, this one is more chill. I like both equally.

the added sound effects around the 00:50 mark help tie it together and make it more interesting
I like the inclusion of a few more leitmotifs in this one, the melodies at 2:02 sound absolutely heavenly, and the high notes somehow don't make my ears bleed, which is great!
also the key change at the end was very well done, and fitting!

For people saying that the vocals are somewhat absent in the V3.1 hotfix (as evident by using the said hotfix's "Super Fucking HD mode" setting)...
My conspiracy is that... this version is straight up placed in the mod.
There would be people booing at me for this, but I honestly prefer the version from the V3's pre-hotfix.
The version where Brooke's vocals at the end got higher on how much RWQ glitches his own "cell" (which is probably him stuck in his own mini-game), is extremely beautiful tbh

I really like the Followed leitmotif in this, and then the Happiest Day motif being more prominent. But in Followed, it's motif is playing more prominently, with the Happiest Day sprinkled on top.
With the new vocals I also hope that they make new sprites. In my opinion these calm vocals don’t match the chaotic sprites. Not that the vocals are bad, far from it, they just don’t sound like they fit the current sprite we have now

The new scale was made because of how compressed and short the notes were for the scale. It was more mandatory, than everyone think it is.

V2's sounded like a glitchy mess which is literally what Shadow Bonnie is, while this one sounds like… an actual person (I think lol)

i’m commenting very late but when this came out i was back to being obsessed with this song again, you and blackberri did such a good job with this song it’s indescribable in my eyes. this song has been one of my favorites in the mod since v1 and i’m so happy it was given the love it absolutely deserves

tbh when i first saw that there is gonna be a remake of the Lurking song i was not really happy about it only cuz i really like the v2 version but after listening to it a few times it's really good, i will not tell that it's bad or anything but i like it the same way i like the v2, keep on doing amazing songs like this one for amazing mods like ourple guy, have a good one pal! :D
