they are like if lennon and mccartney met each other after being famous with other bands and tried the whole girls drugs scene already. even them don’t vibe together this well.
Miles is so underrated! There’s more comments about Alex in a video with miles singing. Don’t get me wrong I love Alex but Miles’s voice is so amazing and him screaming is one of the best parts of the song
I do love Miles's screaming. It's the reason why I like this song. And honestly, at times his voice can be better than Al's. I love Al and his voice, but sometimes there is a time for Miles. In the meeting place he sounds amazing. I wish he lead more.
Don't really get why Miles Kane doesn't get enough credit in this project. He's a fantastic musician in his own right who's known Alex even before he was famous and the only one that can hold a candle to an equal partnership with him. He has a very unique lennon-esque voice, writes fantastic guitar riffs that solidify the background for most of TLSP's works, and brings the more gritty, rock n roll songwriting style to complement Alex's poetic slow rock lyricality. That's what forms the distinct sound of the band, different to AM sounds for instance. He's incredibly charismatic on stage but also knows how to be a solid background co-frontman and holds the ground to let his best mate explore more creatively on stage. Alex himself has repeatedly mentioned Miles' influence both in his personal style (Kane is constantly on the british GQ best dressed list as a style icon) and his music (he was the one that really introduced Alex and the Monkeys to dive deep to 70s rock). His solo projects are often compared to AM but Miles Kane definitely deserves more credit for being one hell of a suave, cool, gifted musician! What more proof do you need than to see how much Alex Turner worships him?
Guys if you are as confused by the videos as I was I read this theory about how Bad Habits is a bachelor party and Miles and Alex get involved with the bride, then in Aviation the groom wants to kill them and Miles gets the bride to escape, then in Everything You've Come to Expect the bride wants to be with one of them but they're like no thanks so she leaves them to die, and finally in Miracle Aligner they escape and that explains the god awful tans.
Hearing the story behind this music video makes it so much better. Apparently, before the single release or even any talk of the album at all, Miles and Alex were watching this band in a tiny pub play songs like "Hotel California", and so after deciding that the pub needed some more life pumped into it the got up did the first TLSP gig in over half a decade for this group of a dozen or so people, and thats where most of this footage came from.
I can understand people not liking this at first, but seriously, listen to it a few times. It sounds ace. I remember people not liking Humbug at first, now a lot of AM fans consider it their best album, including myself...

They did something really brilliant here. it's new and exciting. The first album was almost beatlesesque, now its closer to late 70's music. I had to listen a few times,I love what they did with the strings.
The main reason why I like TLSP is because they genuinely seem to be enjoying working with each other and it reflects as much in their songs.
