I thought his version of Treebeard was magnificent. While James Earl Jones does have a singularly fantastic voice, I think John Rhys-Davies did an absolutely amazing and perfect job as Treebeard. No one better. But, I can understand why he thinks he didn’t, because we are all always our own worst critic.
I'm not surprised he thinks this way of himself. Firstly because he's an actor and all artists are the harshest critics of themselves but most importantly is just like he explained it - how does a human such as himself represent vocally the oldest creature of the a fantastic world? One that has met the elves when they were children and he was old then
You, yourself, did you want a tree but an end. Why are you calling yourself a tree, now? You got angry at Mary and pippin for calling me such. no, it seems like you’re going back on your word, right? If I could, I would speak Antis here. However, I don’t know how to type in new addition.
I think you did very well, so don’t put yourself down in the dirt anymore than you have to. Pick up your room, and Mark to victory. I believe in keeping character, so that’s what I’m trying to get here… Keep the character. yes, I am a person who is blind, I hear very well. I haven’t yet the Lord of the rings, the two Towers, with audio description… The only way I want movies to understand them. however, when I did, I will pay close attention to walk. The audio narrator has to say about you. I think your character can see all of us about patient, time, and slowing down to appreciate life as possible. I know I need to work on them, if I sleep with my future career in special education. again, please forgive the dictation errors here. I cannot edit this, as it has a bug I think.
No, no, no - you were WONDERFUL as Treebeard!! Spot on, in my opinion.
John Rhys-Davies rocks.
He had a perfect opportunity to go "Tree!! I am no tree"
now don't be so hasty
Wow. I just found out he was Treebeard. Why did I not realize it before.
Ironically, I found Fangorn/Treebeard's voice amazing!
Genius acting.
I had no idea he voices Treebeard, but now when you hear the interview you can hear a little bit of it in his voice.
Those puns killed me! 😂
This man actually has the best laughter in the world :) Watch his act in Indiana Jones :)
bro watch SpongeBob too he’s manray in mermaid man and barnacle three and five ;)
I love his voice.
I love that Mr. Davies has a TH-cam channel now.
Those “Ba-rooms” and “booms” sound so much like tree branches cracking and bending.
He was fantastic. It’s funny he fees otherwise.
Met John as a 13 year old, he was my hero when i was young, or his character Gimli so to say

Seems... hasty
Treebeard is unique.
Wow. Actually now that i think about it treebeard and the dwarf do actually look alike. Lol
I will disagree with him. I think he absolutely nailed the voice. I think that’s how most people would have envisioned the voice of Treebeard.

You just up and said, “oh yes, a bit more money. “That’s far too hasty, and the opinion of many of your character type.
As well as being a terrific actor, Mr Rhys-Davies has his head screwed on politically, and is not a standard issue Hollywood wokery bod.
I think he took a great shot at it but tbh I do have to agree with him, I don't really think they got it right.
