They must be a lot of confidence on the New Zealand team after winning the Americas cup and then winning the first stage of the SailGP, especially considering the lost one of their crucial members of the team And that just shows the depth of New Zealand sailors Leo Takahashi joined the team like he’s been there from day one
That was really good racing - for tactical sailors to watch. But catching interest from the much bigger audience of non-sailors (making money) is going to be an ongoing challenge.
Pistol Pete and the team do it again! Congrats to NZ, can't wait for next month. Please make the courses larger. With so many teams on the water now it looked like sardines in a sardine can.
sailGP boat needs to get to 103 km and a race to beat the AC 75 record of 55.6 knots / 102.9 KM/H They’ll probably get there, but they’re definitely not there yet
The AC75 is quicker and takes off at a much lower wind speed than the F50. The T-foils will help but how much remains to be seen. The F50 is more versatile and can sail better in displacement mode.
Do we have to have Todd Harris - he is an embarrassment? And is Freddy Carr tells me one more time that the dark patches on the water are where the wind is I shall scream. Put Lisa in the commentry box and put Todd on the water.
Very disappointing start to the series. This type of sailing is too cute by half. I invited non sailing friends to watch, and their eyes glazed over. This will be a hard sell to non sailors, and unless the commentariat tones down the over hype, bring in some calm rational play by play, this will remain meh within the sailor communities . If you want to see sailing coverage done right, watch the eighteen footers from Sydney harbour every Saturday.
These are supposed to top talent, but Spain completely blows the last mark rounding the Denmark loses all concentration just before the finish. These folks look like local Hobie sailors, beginner mistakes.
Auckland will be a huge event! It’s the City of Sails 🖤
No accident that the two America's cup helms finish 1 and 2. They are the most practised and race sharp, even if it is a different boat!
Really enjoyed this! Thanks to everyone! 🙏
Thanks @SailGP, that was fun. See you next event!
Proud to be a kiwi ❤
I hope that the USA keep up this kind of racing!!! great final race too!!!
Great racing by team USA. Kudos for the aggressive finish.
Fantastic i can find the live episode post racing , i hated waiting over 24 hours in the past to see the full EP , a bigger improvement than T foils
How come there’s hardly any presentation about the boatspeed. Too much talking , too little date
Some great racing, despite the shifty conditions. Should be another great series
Whoever is responsible for the on screen graphics needs to step up their game. So many mistakes and errors.
So, regular day for Sail GP?
Looking forward to Auckland for some breeze and some fans. Maybe even a spectator fleet?
Final race was great. Lots of lead changes, plenty of foiling, good crosses.
Another light wind event in Dubai. A nail biter of a final, though.
What a race!

True. But who cares? Sponsors perhaps
@@rokourlich5204 Anyone who wants to watch - which you can't do if they go under.
Proud to be a KIWI.....
What a race😂😂GO KIWIS LES GET IT.👍💯🇳🇿
It’s sad to see them sailing in this type of environment. The small number of comments here shows how disinterested people are.
Burling is.... Burling! What a victory!!
You Little Beauty you done it again Aotearoa beauty spirit ❤❤❤❤😂😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊
Another great start to the new series. BZ Team NZ.
The Americans!! Finally! God Bless them
imagine being the people sailing the boat in the background at 58:01
Aotearoa spirit amazing that our boys doing the race for us New Zealand Kiwis Hearts ❤️
Gobbledegook. The sailors are doing the race for prize money. Nothing to do with Maori.
As usual❤❤❤
So dull in non foiling conditions - they should scrap the Middle East series - need predictable wind
Kiwis only need to be in the last 3.
Pistol Pete and the team do it again! Congrats to NZ, can't wait for next month.

Dubai is always a very small course, there's not enough wind there to finish a larger course within the allotted 20 minutes.
@@Kiwi17714 Yes, all the more reason to avoid this and similar low-wind venues.
Wow what a difference 5-10 kmph of wind makes

@@jamesaron1967 they will match the low take off speeds of the AC75s by adding motors to the F50s...
The issue with that speed is cavitation on the foils - it destroys them.
Go Jimmy!!!!🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Toooooo much commentariat….can‘t watch…not a second without comments
My bath tub is available and I will pay 2 million per team per day for the honor of hosting an event. I have a Costco fan in the bathroom.
Sooo proud 👏
Kiwis 🥝 🥝 🥝 🥝 🥝 🥝 🎉😊........❤
Yeepy AOTEAROALAND SOON 🎉🎉🎉🎉😊❤
18 m xmas 🎄 is waiting ✋️ 😅😅😅😂😂😂😂

Great foiling racing! And the best thing about it is that we don't have to listen to Stephen McIvor talk absolute rubbish!
The american commentator needs to stop talking exclusively about the USA boat 😅 maybe a little less bias?
Hey Brazil you can't start 200 meters behind the line and expect to be with the leaders. Did that work in the Olympics?
I hate Dubai. You rather spend a buck and do it in Halifax!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why?

i now watch with commentary OFF.....so much better
Exactly… sail Gp has got to stop chasing the $ And chase the wind venues instead!
Not to mention the camera angles and cuts to onboard are terrible
couldn't agree more!`
No one makes you watch it. Perhaps tiddlywinks would be more for you.
Can the abysmal Todd open his mouth without talking up the Americans? Embarrassing for us watching from the US...
Too much replays!
👍👌❤️🇨🇦, Day 1 was so boring, I fell axleep, Day 2 , too much hyped commentating, over nothing, lack of boat speed data, a total wash guys
These are supposed to top talent, but Spain completely blows the last mark rounding the Denmark loses all concentration just before the finish. These folks look like local Hobie sailors, beginner mistakes.
Taylor Canfield, proving overrated again and again
Freakin boundary penalty, what is this amateur hour
there is on place for umpires in racing!
All the foils are black...just say, "the all black foils" we'd get it.
Video quality was terrible? 🫤
