Thanks. Just added the resonator to my Deering GoodTime. The Deering was given to me by a friend who hadn't been playing it, and the resonator was given to me by someone I ran into online just paying for shipping. So I'm pretty pleased right now!
@@warnerpm yes it did. I had already started adding it but I was a little nervous. Then after I watched your video I realized everything was working out properly.
Thanks for sharing that Pete. That helped me a lot, I looked at buying one but could never find out how it was fitted on a Goodtime open back. Now I know, cheers 👍
Good video, I’m actually wanting to go in reverse of your video I’m going to remove my resonator, as I enjoy playing Clawhammer style and I have a Deering Goodtime 2 Deco. And want the smoother/lighter sound with no resonator.
I’m here for the same thing. Was it better when you took the resonator off? I don’t want to waste my time if it’s not worth it. I pick not claw hammer. FYI
I am one of those few people out there who finds this useful as I’m just about to put my resonator on now, thank you so much for the helpful video!
Many thanks from Montana. I was able to install the resonator for my wife’s banjo and your instructions got me through it! Much appreciated.
Been thinking about getting one for my goodtime but was worried about doing it myself. Very helpful vid, thank you!

I hope my video helped. Enjoy! You’ve got a great instrument.

Thanks for that .Looks quite easy to install .Thinking of getting one for my goodtime. Not much info in the UK about banjos.
Thx from Colombia South america :)
There still seems to be nothing out here to look at. Thank you!
It sounds like it may have come with instructions?
So actually it would have been cheaper to have just bought the Goodtime 2 with Resonator to begin with, good to know!
Actually just watch a banjo assembly vid and you realize how to do it. Anyway, it will be helpful to anyone doing the same.
How much did it cost?
about $250
check out the parts page on deeringbanjos.com. As of today it is $248 USD.
