21:23 I have to thank you so much. Thank you very much. I'm always so extremely sad when people say Tokyo Disney is so cheap and everything is so much cheaper. I always cry because of course, if you have euros or dollars everything seems so cheap. You finally get to the point in a report about Japan, or rather about Tokyo Disney. For people like me who only have yen, it's not cheap at all. Many people don't understand that. So thank you very much for your great explanation

Still, compared to Disneyland Anaheim where life is more expensive and pay is super low it is even more expensive for the Cali locals.
I do think OLC is going a bit too far with paid extra's.

A bit off-topic, but both of your guys narration styles & voices are so soothing/elite to listen to. Mix that with top-tier B-roll & reviews/rankings of parks us Americans dont get to frequent often and it makes for a bunch of must-see videos 👏👏 thank you both

Because i visited Disneyworld with my parents in 1982, Tokyo Disneyland made me super nostalgic because so much feels slightly retro which i absolutely loved. Also the welcoming friendliness of the Japanese cast members made my visit even better. It’s those little interactions that really can make or break a day. Thank you for your perfectly narrated content. There are plenty of Disneypark vlogs i simply can’t stand the voice, timing and delivery of the vlogger… your videos are relaxing and elegant. 👌🏽

Before loud voices rise again and say "what costumes are you allowed to wear as an adult in Tokyo?" here is my explanation. Yes and no. Only in the Halloween season is it permitted to wear costumes in the park under very strict rules and guidelines. This is usually for 1.5 months, although this year it was only one month because it was warm for a long time in Tokyo and so they only made the Halloween season last one month. I had seen too often on Instagram (or TikTok) that many people think that you can always come to Tokyo in costume. As I said, this is wrong. The rules in the Halloween season are also really strict and must be observed. But what is true is that here in Tokyo Disneyland it is absolutely normal to always go to the park in extremely pretty dresses and handbags and usually high heels, especially in Tokyo DisneySea. I'm always a bit shocked when I see how visitors come to the USA or Paris, either just in trousers and a T-shirt and a backpack or, especially in the USA, in extremely skimpy outfits. Of course, there's nothing wrong with either, but I feel much more comfortable in Tokyo in that regard. I hope my feelings aren't looked upon with disdain here. I just wanted to report how different Tokyo is from the other parks, and if someone wants to visit Tokyo and wants to dress elegantly, this is absolutely the right place for it.
    greetings from Tokyo

My wife is Japanese..and her house only 1 hour by train...so been blessed to have gone a number of times....and yes, out of the Magic Kingdom (12 times) Disneyland (4x) and Tokyo Disney (3 times)..i'd say it's the best! And most affordable!

Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea are my favorite Disney parks, and I have been to all of them except Hong Kong. The prices for everything are so reasonable it's almost offensive.

I hope OLC knows they are sitting on a goldmine keeping Splash Mountain alive. I would go to Tokyo Disneyland just to ride Splash and I know a lot of people will, too.

But I'm originally a Florida native that used to have the annual passes to the Disney World parks and I still prefer these 😊

Okay, I’ll bite. 😎 Here’s my top ten for anyone who cares to read a long post.
Thanks to business trips, I’ve been fortunate to visit TDR almost annually for years, and my first comment is that I hope the American-owned Bob Iger Company doesn’t ruin it. That out of the way, here are a few thoughts, plus a few clarifications based on my (admittedly imperfect) knowledge of the culture, from many months in Japan.
    1) Biggest takeaway: locals have told me Japan has its own vibrant culture and doesn’t need modern Disney past the classics and cherry-picked new films. Tokyo Disneyland is therefore cherished as a classic experience from mid-century Americana; it’s a huge date spot for teenagers and a local jewel for families. As a culture steeped in tradition, people admire the classics but don’t relate to the “be yourself/You Do You” message within most of the more recent films…
(2)…that’s why, in Japan, Frozen is primarily marketed as a story of the relationship between two sisters, not the “Let It Go!!! Forget Everyone Else!!!” blitz in America. Tangled/Rapunzel, Elsa/Anna’s family relationship, Big Hero Six, Coco (respect and tradition again), and Moana are about as modern as anything gets, because…
    (3) again - Disney isn’t the cultural juggernaut in Japan that it was in the mid 20th century. Likewise, Star Wars has lost its importance in a previously hot market. The Japanese have their own wonderful pop culture and don’t need the Mouse anymore. Now I’ve said it three times. 😂 But this mindset helps you understand the atmosphere in Tokyo Disneyland. You either love classic Walt or you love the American Marketing Machine. There is no in-between. I’m pointing this out because, believe it or not, I have brought fellow Americans who did *not* enjoy TDL and couldn’t understand the cultural differences.
    (3) The lack of a real confectionary shocked me on my first visit, which is a notable oversight in this otherwise fantastic video.
    (4) The merch emphasizes classic, cuddly animals more than anything else. Plus the Bon Voyage gift shop near the (real) train station sells almost all theme-park merch outside the gates, which is unheard-of in America!
    (5) Almost all food is uniformly mediocre to bad, but at least it’s affordable with the exchange rate. The pastries at Minnie’s bakery are pretty good though.
    (6) The old Space Mt. was boring and needed to be gutted. 😂
    (7) The culture sees Pirates, Jungle Cruise, Splash Mt., and other attractions as classic looks into a fictional past, not manifestos for social change-which is a really weird aspect of the current American parks. It’s a ride in a theme park. Nobody is going to loot a city because a ride told them to do it.
    (8) The fireworks are disappointingly lackluster…
    (9) …but the parades are incredible! I still prefer the 35th anniversary day parade over the 40th, but they’re all wonderful!
    (10) The cast is genuinely excited to host guests, and they might be the best employees on earth.
    I love this resort.

TokyoDisney is the type of place where for me it'd have to be a once in a lifetime trip to go due to how far it is, I plan on one day doing a 3 week trip to Japan to visit places in and around Tokyo and Osaka.

Less dumb changes to the rides is a plus in my opinion. The trenchcoats over Jessica Rabbit for example, or keeping Splash Mountain as it is.

Don't forget they didn't touch the iconic Redhead auction scene on PotC. No cringey Redd the Pirate.

The video is really good aside from the sn0wflake comments about the rides not being censored. No one was offended by these attractions until Disney told everyone they should be.

Walt Disney World years ago got rid of the original tiki room and installed Under New Management and the public absolutely hated it as that you don't mess with one of Walt's original attractions that he created. And apparently the tiki Gods didn't like it as a fire destroyed a lot of the set it was put back to its original state

9:08 this is not the normal park, this is exactly the time when the parade ends. The streets are not always so crowded. It is a short time, but it never causes any difficulties

A lot of people would say the aged parts would be drawbacks to this park. Seriously, it does get cold in Tokyo-OLC can afford to close the park to redo the paths for 5 days-2 weeks in January (I guess they could close Tomorrowland for a full overhaul in the final months before NEW Space Mountain for a full facelift and random 48 segments for parts of Westernland, Critter Country, and Fantasyland in Phases

I've also thought of a weird Idea that Splash Mountain should be in a new themed area with Haunted Mansion and expand on Japanese culture of ghosts ad Yokai-It would be original and get away from Song of the South (or do Villains Mountain and just copy the animatronics for Magic Kingdom's Villains dark ride to save R&D cost while not building two of the exact same thing)

Leave Splash Mountain alone for the love of God. Keep the manufactured outrage in the 2020 summer of love where it belongs.

star wars is not a big thing in Japan, so it makes no sens to do it. Same with Marvel. Tokyo Disney Resort are build for the Japanese audience and there interest

They built and change the park depending on what the locals want. If they aren't into Star Wars then you wont see anything other than Star Tours.

Star Wars is NOT Disney; it's Fox unless you want the woke Star Wars by Disney lol The IP itself has a ton of fans here in Japan, which is why we are hosting the next Star Wars Celebration. However, when it comes to the theming and what should fit into Tokyo Disney Resort, Star Wars does not make sense at all outside of Star Tours because the majority of Disney fans and Tokyo Disney goers are FEMALES of all ages. The rule of thumb is if Japanese Disney products are not catered to females, they wouldn't sell at Tokyo Disney Resort and Disney Store Japan; Star Wars is an IP beloved among males but not females especially in Japan. With that said, we, Japanese, make the BEST Star Wars action figures and other collectables in the world.
