I'm glad Transmissions made it onto someone's list. Though it is more of a gateway game, a group of experienced player can still enjoy the complexities of manipulating the sale items and Robot positioning/blocking.
You all are rhyming challenged like Golumn... Naughty little fly, why does it cry, caught in a web, soon you'll be............. unglued. Great Picks! Top of these I would like to play... El Grande. I have AP deciding what farming/resource game to buy. Would also try a Western game like GOLD WEST. I would try ON MARS. still looking for that 1 sci-fi epic game for my collection (that will make it to the table). 'Mechanically thematic' is the phrase of the day.
La Granja is boss. The original is better than the deluxe imo (box size helps). *Edit - Chris keeps crushing this list, love me some Gold West Dead Man's Draw.
Holy Joey! Flick of Faith is so underrated. Such a thematic dexterity game. And Dreadful Meadows AND Kinfire Chronicles? Are you my new favorite DT reviewer?
For some reason Gizmos annoyed me because the marbles are so unnecessary. The same could have been done with a deck of cards. I guess technically so could potion explosion, but the marbles there make more sense to me.
Not only are marbles cooler than cards (subjective, I know), but they are way, way smaller than cards. So I think they are more practical and easier to have revealed for everyone to see as marbles than it would be with cards
If I had to do an overrated games category I would have a super hard time ordering all the Ryan lauket games. Ugh. Not a fan of that designer at all. Nor the art.
It's not WHY they're rating them highly. It's natural to look back at games you haven't played in a while and say "I liked that a lot years ago... But does it still hold up?" Especially for these folks who play probably thousands of games a year.
I think if that's the ONLY reason you rate your games it can be silly, but I think it's a good rule of thumb. Making a guideline rather than hard and fast rule allows for those exceptions like you mention above.
It's not the only reason. But there are many games that I wouldn't think of as my favorite but they are my go-to. And so I think there's merit in that influencing the rank
The consistency of the game experience is a big factor. If you’ve only played a game once, you don’t know if it might fall flat the next time you play it
I completely get what you are saying, as I absolutely loved Indonesia. I watched it played through on Heavy Cardboard to learn to play, then played it and pre-ordered it (nearly a year ago, still waiting 😊), but it is on my mind so often. On the other hand, 6nimmt is undoubtedly the game I have played more than any other. I love them in different ways, and definitely prefer indonesia, BUT they are both in my top 100.
Joey on Gizmos: “This one needs an expansion. I mean, CMON, guys!”
I see what you did theeeere
Man I sure do like Joey! He's so down to earth and must be a ton of fun just to be around.

Chris, "Summer Camp" is now available in Europe. The German version has a different name ("Wanderlust"), but it is widely available and cheap as well.
A Bluey guest spot
I like the quotes in your intro. And I think #79 was a platypus.
Hahah also agree that it a platypus 8:47 I love those animals they are so cute. Definitely made me laugh that Camilla said “weird tail on the otter”
Flick of Faith is one of our favorites!
Gizmos is great! It was one of my top 10 new-to-me games last year.
Deus is a crossover with my top 100 great game needs to be mentioned more :)

I really need to make a compilation of all the times Joey says, “That’s the thing!” then stops explaining what that thing is.
In too deep! One of my faves
Off topic; you guys are talking about 89 degree weather; we're getting snow here in Canada
I live in Canada and the coldest it's been in a week is 15 C....We're not all in frozen wastelands hah
Roam is such a great game.

Well, that is a take... The original one has poorer component quality and is way less pretty and doesn't have the modules. But yes it's smaller.
Agreed on Chris’ picks.
Isle of Skye and Carcassonne made my top 50, but I like Carcassonne a lot more because of the standalone versions and the cutthroat nature.
Dreadfull Meadow is way better then I could have ever expected
Holy Joey! Flick of Faith is so underrated. Such a thematic dexterity game.
And Dreadful Meadows AND Kinfire Chronicles? Are you my new favorite DT reviewer?
I think some of the other DT folks have these games higher on their list

Kinfire Chronicles is the worst, most boring and most empty story and choices I've ever played so far...
If I had to do an overrated games category I would have a super hard time ordering all the Ryan lauket games. Ugh. Not a fan of that designer at all. Nor the art.
That 79 was not an otter……it’s a platypus. Sorry to be that guy.
lol. Yes - That was the joke as otters are my favorite animal. It was very clearly not an otter
My Australian DNA couldn’t help it 😁
Is it just me or is ranking games according to how often you play them kinda silly? Some of my highest rated games I've played once.
