GrooveLab invites « Phemia »
Phemia is an Antwerp-based DJ.
Music has always played a role in her life. Her dad runs a musical
instrument store so naturally, she learnt various acoustic instruments throughout her childhood.
The piano was the main instrument of choice, but drum-percussions were always within reach. Electronic instruments
do replicate an acoustic sound by employing samples, so the change to electronic music was never far away.
Phemia’s teenage years were where electronic music entered the equation. Her passion for this genre was built dancing nights away in clubs. Artists like DVS1, Surgeon, Ben sims amongst others, were big inspirations for her. Phemia's signature sound during her sets is groovy, hypnotic combined with a lot of percussions and a rolling bassline. Expect a strong, energetic, danceable experience with Phemia.
