Yo chill. God of war was better for sure. Wukong is good at the start but after lvl 40 its getting boring. No new skills, weapon is the same. Areas that baits you thinking there is a secret but there are just rocks that u cant jump on. Those are small things but really annoying ones. In my book thats not even 9/10 game. I would give it 7.9/10 elden ring was 8.7/10 god of war 9/10. Thats my ranking :)

The first time I saw it I realized how similar it is to God Of War, even the hud and inventory menu. It's also good to know that it's not just another Dark Souls of the bunch but something more like God Of War and Jedi Fallen Order, fun and difficult without being unnecessarily annoying.

When they say that, I believe they are referring to the mechanic in most soulslike where you lose a lot of currency upon death and it means that deaths matter a lot more. I believe they mean that you won’t lose most of your stuff on death in this game. I believe this is correct but hopefully it helps! Also soulslike is a genre characterized by highly difficult and punishing gameplay such as Elden ring or dark souls
@@triplemblizzard3465good explanation, to add something - one crucial thing that distinguishes soulslikes is the respawn upon checkpoints like firepits that you have to rekindle yourself and all enemies respawn when you reset at each checkpoint. theres often limited charges of healing and you have to reset at those stations. also tough and memorable bosses are staple of soulslikes ( tough most of the time some are joke but it's different topic ) overall for me soulslikes formula gotten a little stale so im happy theres still action games like wukong, and now that i think of it its very similiar to god of war 4, if i had to compare the combat.

You’re correct in saying that this isn’t a souls-like but you are mistaken about losing anything upon death. Sparks are used to level up attributes and you get them by either filling the meter on the top right screen, random enemies can drop a spark, and also some chests. If you die before using these, you lose them. Can’t get them back at your death spot either. But if you use a spark and assign it to an attribute, you don’t lose it. You can do this at anytime by pressing pause and going to the self-advance tab.

I bought the game last week and completed it, yesterday. What a fantastic journey it has been. It has some pretty tough bosses in the game. Dusk Veil took me two days. Lol. Every other rough boss like Erlang and the final boss took me 3-4 hours to defeat them. Time for New Game *. 😉

Ghost of Tsushima is an Assassin’s creed-like stealth game. Meanwhile this is more akin to GoW with soulslike elements (bonfires, estus and respawning enemies notably)
It’s a souls like. Just because you don’t lose anything upon death doesn’t mean the formula is different. It’s a perfected souls like with better combat and overall just a better experience especially because it doesn’t take place in the same dingy medieval environment

The staff is not the only weapon there is a secrt spear on the game with unique combos and animations you can find it on chapter 2 i think on the prison
Correction, you can also obtain 2 spears later on by defeating bosses. I got the first one and it increases the poke stance’s damage. Idk about the other one yet

Dont want to be that guy but there are actually 2 types you can use: staff and spear. Spear moveset is a bit different than staffs. But yes more than 90% of weapons in the game are staffs only
